Many thanks...how amazing the text and the performance..some suggested topics: advertising- computers/laptops- arts-literature-museum-history...something like that:)
Thanks for watching, Ghada! Nice suggestions. We have a few of these in either video or listening lessons, such as this one: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/computer-problems. Feel free to search our site for more, and maybe we'll be able to make lessons on the other topics you're interested in, in the future!
The present generation is so lucky to get access to quality English for free like this one. When I was studying English in Thailand 50+ years ago, I had to go to British Council's library to borrow or read books in the library and borrow reel tapes to play in the booth: Press Play, Listen, Pause, Speaking, Play again. It was hard, but it worked. I did that 2-3 times a week for two years. The result was not bad, got a scholarship from Australia govt to study there in 1971.
Thanks for sharing your response, Kamol! Excellent writing. My only suggestion is, it's not necessary to capitalize each item after the colon besides the first letter if you choose. '...booth: press play, listen, pause, speak, play again...'. Hope this helps you!
You'll almost covered all the topics which comes to use while having daily conversation . These videos help me a lot . I'm really grateful for your hard work.
It was a very good lesson with a lot of necessary and useful information. Very many good phrases and the showmasters are very nice. They speak clear and understandable.
Thanks some much Oli and Sthephanie, Iam studying English, to be honest it helpful for me...I hope speak in english fluently like You, one more time Thanks you some much
I really enjoy your useful English lessons, not just this lesson, I have passed almost all English lessons which you offered to us. I can say that I have learnt a lot. I can say that is MY CUP OF TEA! At the very begining I said, Am I an idiot? I can not understand any English words. It was ALL GREEK TO ME! But now. I can say that I am able understand 80%. No, I am not satisfied. I have to be better. Thank you so much for your lessons you made a big effort. Thank you again Cheers. Ivan

Last year, one of my friend had an accident. He was sent to E/R immediately for an operation. After that, he was kept in hospital for about one month. He could not stand stuck in the room for too long, so I came to visit him every alternative days to walk him around the hospital yard. The visiting time was two hours, so it was enough for us to talk all gossips. Actually, he recovered quite fast, he asked doctors to be discharged earlier but they said it was impossible.
Another great answer, Diana! Here are some tips: 1) '...not stand to be stuck in the room...' not, 'stand stuck'. 2) '...visit him every other day,' not, 'every alternative days'. 3) '...for us to gossip,' or, 'talk about all of the gossip,' not, 'talk all gossips'. Hope this is useful for you!
Thanks, Oli and Stephanie. This video really helps me a lot! sometimes it's really hard to describe some symptoms or talk about the illness. looking forward to more videos!
Today I would tell you about a disorder that I had. This is dengue fever . I had it when I was 7 years ago. Firstly, I got headache and fever. So I went to public healthcare and they gave a prescription. However, these medicine did not help me . After I went to hospital and doctor diagnose me had dengue. Therefore , I feel so worried. I had to stay overnight in hospital. After 6 days , I didn’t get fever and headache also eyes pain. I was discharged . However , I would get some strength back in a few weeks.
Thanks for sharing, Tram. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) 'Today I will tell you about...' not, 'would'. 2) It's more common to refer to dengue fever as a 'disease' and not a 'disorder'. 3) '...I got a headache...' not, '...I got headache...' Hope this helps you!
