When i saw the redesigned Mini I immediately ordered a new Countryman S last August before the end of production of the last true Mini . At first glance you immediately know it’s a Mini versus the bland redesign which looks like a rebadged Ford Escape
Such a concise and crisp review. Thank you for listening to my recommendation of showing the old vs. new features side by side in one shot. It makes the comparison so much easier. Look forward to more head to head comparisons. Cheers.
Great comparison video. Love them both! If you prefer the old one, buy the old one they have plenty on the lot to sell you. Good thing is we have choices!
Rims look like on cheap toy. This car lost its character, less and less mini-like elements. It's becoming more and more like any other car, in this case a Suzuki. Good cars for the masses without character. I missed the most important facts in this review: the weight of an electric car, the cost of a new battery and the cost of replacing it.
Unfortunately, the new model is not beautiful. Not from the front, not from the side, not from the back and not from the inside either. From the outside it looks like a toy, from the inside it looks very cheap and not a bit premium. Bye MINI, bye BMW 😕
Couldn’t agree more. I don’t like the new model. Looks like a toy. And the interior, well……but I think that i am going to buy the 2023. I really hope to find one in stock.cheers mate.
Currently my model is similar to the one in the video... I've been changing Mini for years (cooper, cooper S and now it's my 2nd Countryman). I probably won't change for the new model. In 7/8 years I will get another used one, with fewer km, but of the same current model (2022).
It’s a shame that they cheaped out the 2024 MINI Countryman U25, 2023 MINI Countryman F60 for the win because it holds its place for the best interior quality. Very disappointed about the 2024 interior and the lack of horsepower and no plug-in hybrid or mild hybrid either.
And if I am paying that much for a car, i EXPECT a bit more than "pleather," Im sorry synthetic leather seats & "fabric" trim inside. Thats just ridiculous!
These are only Minis by name, not by nature. They are so far removed from the original concept and moving steadily away from the original design. It's a pity really, as at least the first models were recognisable as a modern update. Shame on you BMW.
Can you remove the boot floor completely to increase the size of the boot permanently? This car has apparently 450 litres but my current T-Roc has 445 and seems to have a lot more room than the Countryman. Weird.
Mini could've revolutionized their styling...its the same since I met them in a jackfruit party 7 yrs ago with my friends fortuner everest trailblazer and mux . Good thing not an ev atleast...
@@Ford-Explorer606 and remember they were threatened by rolls royce for brand independence..... actually bmw wanted to make rolls-royce a upscaled version of bmw but .... the licence for spirit of extacy saved them ...else

It's been very sad seeing Minis being hit harder and harder with BMW's ugly stick while model creep makes each succeeding version more huge and bloated. That whirring sound you hear is Alec Issigonis spinning in his grave.
Still amuses me that BMW pushed it upmarket. The original was cheap transport, designed to be bought on a “secretary’s” wages- only white collar workers earning good money can afford this now. And mini was a model, not a “brand” that yuppies endear themselves to either. The closest thing to the original concept is something like a Kia Picanto. Small, cheap and the wheels are at all four corners.
Taste is indeed a personal matter. For my family the Mini Countryman Era is sadly over. We love our 2022 Countryman Cooper S with it's perfect proportions, saddle leather interior, sage green metallic with racing stripes and all else blacked out. Last but not least a head turning design - fusion between a classic and a modern vehicle at it's best! The new model favorably described by that charming lady (hired most probably by BMW) lacks that specific charme and could be a new Japanese vehicle - without any personality. The interior of the new model reminds us of a Fiat Tipo in the 90th (Sorry Fiat but your 500 is still a deal maker as a convertable). The steel toggle switches - a trademark of Mini - reduced to cheap looking plastic switches. The head-up display is the worst on the market as speed and info not projected on the windscreen but visible on a cheap transparent plastic display which flickers! We drive our Mini not using that failure and now the new one relies only on that if you do not like to monitor your speed turning your eyes away from road conditions - reminds us of our first mini..! Sorry Mini/BMW but you will not convince us that this new Mini turns heads or enhances our emotions while looking at it - bad proportions, boring plastic interior and no charme at all 😢😢😢 P.S. We ordered one but cancelled our order having seen that new model introduced on TH-cam
P.S . Driving over 200km/h with our Mini all essential functions as climate control, etc. can be easily accessed as physical knobs and switches alliw an intuitive interaction without tipping on the centre screen and losing sight of the road.
@@thomasbecker8017This is something I would like to know about how the new mini assistant would work on controlling the climate with just your voice. I do like this car but I much rather decided if I would purchase it once I see it in person
Totally disappointed in the new model. Super ugly inside out. Not luxury at all. I totally regret that I didn’t buy the old mini countryman last year and now I need to look at the second hand market. Ugly design, I think mini need to bring back the old classic design’ 😢
I had high hopes for the 2025 mini, but they failed when they followed the herd in making their automobile ugly. I think I will buy a 2024 model rather than the 2025 model, so their revenue will fall short one car. Am I alone?
Exactly..the lights are the wrong shape.... No curves on the body ....It doesnt have the classic beautiful vibe anymore. Might as well slap thr Kia badge on it

Synthetic leather maybe fine for the first owner but after 10 years of Southern Hemisphere UV will break it up like a toddler with a Tim Tam. Great review

I did exactly the same thing!
Agree, the new design lost the mini soul
I did the same and collected my new mini countryman 1st august 2023.
I hate the new one..inside is awful

Was an excellent idea and we're happy to hear it has improved the experience!
"listening to my recommendation"🤦🏿♀🤦🏿♀🤦🏿♀🤦🏿♀
Bring back the old
I love old one 😂
I’m not a big a fan of the interior of the new model. The interior of the 2023 looks so much better.
exactly especially in the back seat, the middle seat looks comfier!!
Where are the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, and fuel gauge? The instrument cluster belongs in front of the driver not to the side.
There is a heads up display if I'm not wrong
Don’t look gd, the old one is nicer. N what happen to the union jack lights? Come on bmw.
The new lights are digital so you can configure the lights to have the union jack pattern in them
They grew up.
@@mariaclark5477No they are still capable of showing the Union Jack they just chose a different setting for the light.
the old design does look better, the new one doesn’t give me a cute mini look
Great comparison video. Love them both! If you prefer the old one, buy the old one they have plenty on the lot to sell you. Good thing is we have choices!
Old is Gold, at least when it comes to the Mini!😂
The new one stole the headlights from a suzuki swift. Old one looked classier

Agree. Shame they've resorted to and electically controlled "automatic"

This new design is a breakthrough, glorious. The Best Suzuki ever made....

Excellent presentation, well done! 🙂👌👍
New may not necessarily look better than old for the Mini; the Mini Classic serves as a live example.
what a wondeful side to side...!!! I wish this exist for every car...!!! Thank you.
The new Mini is a very ugly Car 😞🤮 I drive the old one and I love it 👍🏻
old version is much better than
Than what?
The 2023 looked cooler.
Love the new Countryman and have ordered one here in the US. Great, comprehensive review and very useful comparison of the 2nd and 3 gens! Well done!
Well spoken, great voice & a Fantastic Review 👌
How does the CPO work in the US? Is it any good?
Can you remove the boot floor completely to increase the size of the boot permanently? This car has apparently 450 litres but my current T-Roc has 445 and seems to have a lot more room than the Countryman. Weird.
New.one seems an eletric car. Beautiful but doesn't seem a mini. Its more a byd + land hover fusion.
Am I looking at a concept prototype from 2000’s? In my opinion, it doesn’t look futuristic. Because of that, it looks rather outdated.
I love your detail comparison that the old vs the new! You are the best girl. Thanks.
the new interior is so bland and empty 🤮
Leather and Crome Free = Cost Savings..... but not passed on to the consumer.
The images of the 2.0 petrol were the old Countryman, not the new one.
Does the 2024 countryman now come with blind sport monitoring?
I believe so yes
It’s sad what happened to mini … sad.
What color is the model you have in the video? Is is the Smokey Green or Slate Blue?
That is Smokey Green
The old one looks so much better

The new mini I like the screen only all looks cheap try to put the screen on the old mini is more good than old mini screen
Older mini looks way more better than newer ones, the new mini looks like suzuki swift
To me the new Mini Countryman looks like a Hyundai Venue 🤔😔
Was not made in England made in Austria and Holland
Love love love 💕💕💕
This new model gives me vibes of a Mitsubishi Outlander. 🤦♂️
And swift already copied it 😂
The new mini countryman is big and ugly, theyve lost the whole point of the car
It’s a bit Fiat 500L 😕
Why does it look like a mpv with the sides and back so flat
Too bad these lose value so fast!
$63k for a small car your dreaming
It's not for everyone. It is a premium/luxury brand to be fair.
2024❤
New Mini ,big disappointment .🙁
Love the back end of the new one, but the front end and interior is URGH!
It's been very sad seeing Minis being hit harder and harder with BMW's ugly stick while model creep makes each succeeding version more huge and bloated. That whirring sound you hear is Alec Issigonis spinning in his grave.
Pls kick out that new designer
new model is fake mini and true audi. you guys ruined mini.
ORA Cat is the new Mini
The New one make me🤮
The Countryman is not a Mini.
There was a mini countryman back in 1965.
It's got serious problems ? The growth hormones have turned it into Godzilla ! How can they call it a mini ?
Old definitely. The new version looks like a Japanese or Korean SUV.
look how they've massacred my boy
lol suzuki swift🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No generation mini countryman has ever been produced in the United Kingdom.
HATE IT, Bye Mini!

Looks like a Nissan
Horrible design ! No more MINI identity, specially inside. It looks like a cheap toy from AliExpress
청바지가 잘어울리는 그녀 ❤︎
Shut up
New model looks like just Nissan( not sexy, no passion
Old one looks cheap. And is OLD 😂 WHAT ARE YALL ON
New one looks terrible
It looks soulless and awful.
Yikes !!!! Epic fail !!!!
What changed? It got big & ugly !
New mini = 🚮
Unreliable
Ugly car ... so sad.
That C pillar appliqué is the most awkwardly over design piece I’ve ever seen on a C pillar of a SUV
Love the new interior, however kinda feel the old exterior beats the new
The 2023 version still looks very cool.
To bad the 2024 mini is a design fail. Mini lost a fan in me with this 2024 Desaster.

Well said. I am hoping to buy one of the last of the "old" Countrymans that still has a little of the Mini old charm about it.

Nice new Kia looking Mini
That C pillar is incredibly ugly. Yuk!
Come! She must know that the new model has no premium feel to it.
Looks like a Suzuki Hyundai blend.

its way too big now

Glad to see Susannah in the videos. Gorgeous as always 😍
Mini on the up and up hahaha
The looks of the new one looks like an electric car, the older is much better more rugged and cooler.
