Excellent work. I hear people talk about these OG Elektron devices like theyre mythical and superior to their newest lineup. Is that true?

I have a Monomachine Mk 1 and a bunch of the newer Elektron machines as well. Not sure I'd say it's superior, in fact a lot of things about them are more simplistic (like the sequencer) but there is a certain sound and feel that is notably different from the newer machines. The Monomachine in particular is very unique.

@@MattGreerMusic That I can understand for sure. But the idea that they're putting out products that have fewer features and are worse and worse than what they used to did not add up for me. Sure, maybe they had a unique feature here or there that hasnt made it into the modern lineup for some reason, but new devices being inferior doesnt make sense to me.

A lot of great music has been made with the Monomachine + Machinedrum combo, which is probably why some people attribute a magic quality to them.
I use a Machinedrum MKI (2001), an Octatrack (2011) and a Model Cycles (2020), and I think they're all fantastic.
