      I suggest you to also just mess around, and not do only tutorial, or also, take usine preset and check what they do with LFO etc.. And then use those technics on better sounds that you create))) Monomachine is a fantastic synth, just need some times to tame it.

    To make a clang on the mnm. Use any init machine and set the atk hold and rel to zero, use a little dec then run it through a chorus in neighbor mode. have the chorus trigger the machine. Set feedback to full, add width. set speed to a number divisible by 8 so that the character loops with the sequencer. set dec to a 8-56 then use the del to find the pitch youd like it to move around at. (Higher values lower pitch). Also don't be afraid of the auto filter, if you feel its cutting off low frequencies set the bofs to -64 with a slow dec so that its essentially always open or set the base to 8 or 16 and bring up the hpq to accentuate the fundamental or octave below it.

      I like ur videos! I agree chorus has a big part to play but fm engine neighbored with chorus will ultimately produce the most metallic tones out of all engines on the mnm.

    Hi there! Amazing work!
    I have one question:
    Does one need the + drive version to do these kinds of sounds or can it just be the non +drive mkII ?
    Thanks

    • @virtualcrimes
      @virtualcrimes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi thanks for watching, plus drive does not affect the sound at all, it’s merely for saving more snapshots.

    Is something like this possible on the Digitakt?

  • @marcdavis4412
    @marcdavis4412 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    do you think since the monomachine is so hard to get, that a similar workflow is possible on the digitone? (Obv. with more post proccessing maybe?)

    • @virtualcrimes
      @virtualcrimes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With post processing yes, if you don’t already have a digitone, use dexed and serum to achieve similar results. I will say I have not come across a chorus similar to the mnm tho, there’s something special about it.

    • @MichaalHell
      @MichaalHell ปีที่แล้ว

      i honestly think youd get closer with an octatrack.. the magic sauce lies in the chorus, which are similar on MNM and OT
