Long story short, I had to use a random 50/50 mixture from the gas station.... I remember hearing before about NOT mixing different types.... googling seems to be a hit n miss on the subject. So I just found this quick video to see how to drain the rad.... I couldn't help but noticing I saw green going in the reservoir. Even though there was no green mixed into the funnel. Then you ran the car and all of a sudden the whole reservoir was filled with orange and continued to top it off with orange? So now I'm really confused 😂

Apologies for any confusion. Here's my advice: Ignore any references to colour (the various manufacturers seem to change the antifreeze colour from time-to-time), and focus on the Specification. Ford recommend Motorcraft SuperPlus antifreeze to Ford specification WSS-M97B44-D. This spec should be on the side of any appropriate anti-freeze. Personally, I use Prestone which is claimed to be compatible with all types of antifreeze, and I've not had a problem yet. However, to add to the confusion it's green...

I've 2016 Focus SE 2.0L and why does Ford not recommend alcohol or methanal coolant ? The one I just bought is supposed to be universal..but ethylene glycol

So why is this video here, and in my just purchased online Ford C-max manual a general Renault video? I have to say I'm slightly dissapointed in the online Hayes manual. 5(!) specific Ford C-max instrictions, and the rest general tutorials. I don't care how and where to drain the coolant on a Renault, I want to know where I can drain the coolant on my FOrd C-max, the car I bought the online manual for.

AutoFix is very different from our traditional Haynes Owners workshop manuals. Instead of being based on a vehicle strip and rebuild, AutoFix is a mixture of OEM vehicle data (servicing specs etc.), vehicle specific procedures, wiring diagrams, and generic tutorials. Unfortunately, we had to stop producing new manuals in early 2020.

Shouldn’t we do coolant bleed after draining the coolant for ford focus se 2014?
    Thank you.’

Thanks for your question. The coolant bleeding procedure is described in the video, and is a combination of engine speed, and time. The procedure described is actually a copy of the one prescribed by the manufacturer, and should bleed the air from the system. Hope this helps!

@@HaynesManuals thank you for your reply.
I do also got another question. Do we usually need to apply coolant flush first together with distilled water so that we can make sure that all of the old coolant will come out from the engine before we add the actual 50/50 coolant antifreeze?
      Thank you very much
