Perhaps Miss Venezuela had a 'prettier' face - she is really incredibly beautiful! - but overall no girl was more spectaular than Miss Trinidad - she had it all; beauty, brains, breeding - and heart and sexy walk and wonderful voice and the most important thing: Charm. She had "it"!

Wendy had won the contest from the beginning, no doubt about that. the girl from Venezuela has an interesting story: when she was 10 her mother abandoned her and a neighbour helped the young girl through those years. she studied high school and soon started to work as a model.today that wonderful person is like her real mother to verushka and she has always been very humble and has become a very succesful business woman

These women are too tier and visual Indore young girls not only from those countries that you can achieve so much even through service while still taking care of your health and spiritual well being without grace without being overwhelmed. It amazes me to see how we think of colour and race.... Not because some ppl are black doesn't mean they are not beautiful.. I am a pageant fan... and I must say there are some girls who are even prettier than some don't even make it to the finals... If you all have realized the competition over the years is not just judge about beauty but is also on poised, brains as well as charisma. I have watch this video from start to finish as well as the other years of videos... Everyone whom has won their title as Miss Universe deserve their win..... even though they may not have been the best in beauty but their stage present would have been great. Trinidad and Tobago Wendy Fitzwilliams... deserved her win... her1st and 2nd interview was really great... perhaps the final question was weak but she would have mastered it from the first so don't fault the girl, and to all the other categories swim wear costume as well the evening gown she would have mastered it all... Even Leila Lopes was nervous with her answer and her answer wasn't to the point but she was great and there were lots of problems with her win... we as ppl are never satisfy with the end results.. She smoked the other contestants in every category and final question. All three contestants were nervous and Wendy pulled it out... All three of the contestants were beautiful. When you make it to the semi finals, it not longer on who's the prettiest...It on poise, style and the ability to speak intelligently...and of the three Wendy made the least mistakes...because actually, no of them chicks were outstanding, especially in final question.

And yes the ladies were nervous, what the other poster is pointing out is that Wendy had trouble with the final question, which surprised me to be honest. But because she was so strong throughout the night, the judges knew enough not to base everything on one question. The other two did answer the question, so you need to give credit where credit is due.

In this crowning moment you have a contestant appearing out of nowhere, stepped on the runner-up's gown, almost falls and almost brought down the winner with her in the process, the current Miss Universe trying to crown her successor with all of the contestants knocking her out of the way to surround the winner etc....Yeah, 2015 just had a wrong placement announcement - lots of awkward pauses and apologizes, and confused/bitchy contestants trying to figure out what to do. Nothing really ground breaking about that.

Wendy looked so humble and unassuming and totally oblivious of her electrifying charm. Venezuela was in tears towards the final moment and must have been dead sure but incredulous that she had won. Still, in the end, she rushed to kiss Wendy and her excitement at Wendy's victory looked sincere once she had gotten hold of herself.

Venezuela was the total package. She was fun, charismatic, gorgeous with a killer body and personality to spare. Her look was very distinct. Trinidad and Tobago was solid and poised. I think her accent made people feel she was intelligent but she really struggled with the final answer. Puerto Rico was nothing to write home about. The Charlie's Angels hair was her best attribute but boy was she shallow and rehearsed!
"Fun" and "Charismatic" the woman looked nervous and was almost in tears by the end of the competition. We can agree to disagree about her being the "prettiest," because she had on a ton of makeup and she looked about 20 years older than she should - yes, she was 18 at the time of competition. Miss Trinidad & Tobago's accent didn't make anyone feel that she was intelligent - she is in fact intelligent. Her lovely accent just enhances her charm and beauty. Let me remind you that Miss Trinidad & Tobago had scored high in all three categories: Placed first in interview 1 & evening gown. She also placed first in the second interview round that determined the top 3. Regardless of how you feel and what spin you want to put on this competition, Miss Trinidad & Tobago went into the final round already as the winner.

Even tho we're of Jamaican descent( mom 100% Jamaican)...the fact that the 2nd black girl had finally won after 21 years. 1999...the 3rd black girl. Omg My mom and I were on the floor!! I as a TnT citizen born and raised with friends with roots all over Latin America really don't know why the comments so salty and and so selfishly divided against one another. These women are top tier and should inspire young girls (not only from those countries) that you can achieve so much even through service while still taking care of your health and spiritual well being with grace (without being overwhelmed). Yes u have challenges, but u can rise above them. Place yourself higher and raise others up with you. Don't be afraid to receive help, and never resist giving it. When they said they were the top 10 most beautiful ladies it is bc of all this. Their glowing skin and stunning good looks were simply part of the journey through which they propelled foward. Never forget that.

Wendy looked so humble and unassuming and totally oblivious of her electrifying charm. Venezuela was in tears towards the final moment and must have been dead sure but incredulous that she had won. Still, in the end, she rushed to kiss Wendy and her excitement at Wendy's victory looked sincere once she had gotten hold of herself.

Trinidad and Tobago time, 1997- 2nd Runner up. And 1998- winner. Venezuela also 1997-1998 are both runner up.
Venezuela was the total package. She was fun, charismatic, gorgeous with a killer body and personality to spare. Her look was very distinct. Trinidad and Tobago was solid and poised. I think her accent made people feel she was intelligent but she really struggled with the final answer. Puerto Rico was nothing to write home about. The Charlie's Angels hair was her best attribute but boy was she shallow and rehearsed!

"Fun" and "Charismatic" the woman looked nervous and was almost in tears by the end of the competition. We can agree to disagree about her being the "prettiest," because she had on a ton of makeup and she looked about 20 years older than she should - yes, she was 18 at the time of competition.
Miss Trinidad & Tobago's accent didn't make anyone feel that she was intelligent - she is in fact intelligent. Her lovely accent just enhances her charm and beauty. Let me remind you that Miss Trinidad & Tobago had scored high in all three categories: Placed first in interview 1 & evening gown. She also placed first in the second interview round that determined the top 3. Regardless of how you feel and what spin you want to put on this competition, Miss Trinidad & Tobago went into the final round already as the winner.
