Mad Dog to Timber Wolf transition for me was awesome! Full Star of Timber Wolves is pretty nuts. PGI really did a great job with this game! Great video as usual!
you need to give your Artemis boat to Naomi. when you max out spread stats completely (naomi + weapon research + Artemis) LRM 15 spread goes all the way down to around 2m. it almost becomes pinpoint weapon with about 75% of the damage on a single component, without the need for TAG. Also, the Timber Wolf makes a surprisingly good UAC/20 carrier.
Having naomi with lrm feels waste - she has pin point accuracy with regular srm 6 with maxed out spread and affininity (i thinks she dont even have affinity for timber and heavier) and not finished research for my 6x 6srm mad dog build - headshots and center torso busting with 1 or 2 salvos

Not a fan of machine guns either Baradul. At level 14 and I am mainly focused on 3 weapons: ER Large ER Small and Long Range missiles. Also to be noted that they are totally ignoring the Clans' doctrine of one-on-one fights and letting you gang up on mechs whenever you want. I still find it very amusing that they were complaining so much about your one pilot using contractions, when they openly use "Aff" as a contraction of "Affirmative" - so there are approved contractions, and non-approved contractions. If they want to be so hard-lined about following rules, then they should insist you follow the one-on-one rule and not allow you to tell your Star mates to attack targets en-mass. it saddens me that so many streamers play Clans and fight like IS Freebirth Dezgras! where is Zellbrigen? the programmers should have added penalties for such disgraceful actions. worthless, like Ezra!
Disgraceful? Seriously? Dude, have you even read the lorebook "Total Warfare"? Want me to tell you how the Clans treated Zellbrigen BY THE SOURCE MATERIAL? That they only observed the rules strictly when fighting bandits, pirates and other unlikables, but otherwise the entire concept is "figuratively thrown out the airlock" (actual quote, btw) and only used against toher Clans when they have an advantage. And then there's the fact that Zellbrigen is followed only unless circumstances dictate otherwise, like being outnumbered or if you thought you could get away with breaking it. GET WAWAY WITH IT?! You haev an honour-code but break it if you think you can get away with it? What's disgraceful again?
I would rather have been able to direct companies on missions you don't control as part of the larger war effort, pushing the border where you are sucxessful, than a storyline about characters whonwould never die.
While this game is.. Well, probably the best we have in MW genre today, I hate it so much that this nickle and dime "free to play"derived bullshit of billion little tweaks to upgrade every statistic exists. I'd much rather have a sim style mechwarrior where things are what they are and one wouldn't have to mess around with these idiotic upgrade paths. Make the damage even and make the fights matter. It feels just so stupid to just murder 20 mechs per game and going willy nilly against much heavier stuff without a sense of "damn I'm fucked here."
All of the people animations just give me really uncanny vibes like its AI generated or something. I'm also not really a fan of the new sounds. Visually it looks better than vanilla Mercs but I think some mods on Mercs achieve the same effect.
I get what you are saying, for me the faces definetely crossed into uncanny valley territority. That being said I don't mind for this setting, trueborns being genetically modified clones and all that - gives them an subtle alien vibe
Saw the whole history of the Clans...... And now idk, if I want to play as giant war criminals & failures. But, I'm interested to see if the devs decided to add some redemption arc for the Jags.
@@Faulkner108 You should read more of the lore then :) inner spheres is significantly more war crimey than the clans. Clan society was crafted with the express purpose of minimising the negative effects of war on non combatants, and to minimise the financial costs by not wasting excessive resources. Edo is significant specifically because it is one of the few times the clans used weapons of mass destruction. The Inner Sphere chose to unban the use of nuclear weapons on civilians during the first succession war. After the succession wars, the inner sphere was in technological decline because they’d been bombing schools and universities to prevent their opponents from training engineers and scientists.
@@jurgen4466 Yeah, I wrote the comment before he said it, but anyway: Bara does loads of silly meme builds (melee, ac2, machine guns, overheat shenanigans). He wants to play cat and mouse, it seems or he does it for engagement as people might like that more than boring laser vomit, but the worst offending builds like machien guns make me want to bite my keyboard. After decades of BT he has to know machine guns suck BEFORE trying them for the 100th time. What was the definition of madness again? Trying the same thing over and over, but expecting different resuilts? 😋
They do machine guns so dirty lol, 150m range dumb... What machine gun ever only shoots 150m, GAU-8 which would be an obvious choice for a mech is 1200m effectively. Mod this for sure lol.
They're at least slightly beholden to tabletop, where machine guns have among the shortest range in the game and only shoot 90m in tabletop with an optimal range of 30m, to balance their low weight, large amount of ammo and zero heat. I haven't kept up with tabletop, but around the time of the Clan invasion I think the longest ranged weapons maxed out a little less than 900m (although I think there are optional rules for extreme range shots, and I don't know how that works).
The BattleTech rulebook addresses this directly: the 'Mech weapons and ranges are balanced to create big stompy fights in relatively close quarters, because that's the kind of art the designers thought was cool and they want the game to reflect it. With realistic weapon ranges, you'd do all your fighting on sensors from kilometers away and never get a chance to crack somebody's cockpit open with a giant hatchet.
What kind of machine guns can tear apart mech armor? Even the GAU-8 armor penetrating rounds only achieve maximum effectiveness under 300m of range. At 1200m there effectiveness drops by a third. Pretty sure mech armor 1000 years in the future is stronger than current day tanks.
They are a bit iffy on the lore on this game. It seems like they want to soften it up some. I don't recall which clan was suppose to take Rasalhaugh, but the clans pretty much drive half way to terra then stop for a year then drive all the way to terra then a group of heroes agrees to a challenge the clans. They upgrade the mechs with some of the comstar hidden tech which is released to fight the clans. They win for a 15 year truce. Jaguar breaks it and leads to the clan downfall. Nuking a planet wasn't a big deal to the clans if the enemy fought like cowards from their perspective. It was odd seeing Jaguar crying like Wolf. The books and a channel called Grim Dark Narrator are great for lore if anyone likes.

it saddens me that so many streamers play Clans and fight like IS Freebirth Dezgras! where is Zellbrigen? the programmers should have added penalties for such disgraceful actions.
worthless, like Ezra!
The clans did not use Zellbrigen if the enemy they were fighting didn’t.
Too many large lasers? Your words confuse me.... is 8 too many for a direwolf?
15 Medium Pulse Lasers works much better. Basically delete anything smaller than an Atlas. With full upgrades, it'll hit out past 1KM, as well.
I would rather have been able to direct companies on missions you don't control as part of the larger war effort, pushing the border where you are sucxessful, than a storyline about characters whonwould never die.
No offense, but didn't you just build a worse Timber Wolf prime with more ammo? 😅
People of culture call them "Mad Cats".
Mad dogs bite everyone else, mad cats scratch your eyes out
The hell they do
The people of culture are the ones who designed this mech, and they named it Timber Wolf.
If by people of culture, you mean "filthy freebirths", then yes.
@@Myuutsuu85 Turtle Bay is a good display of that "culture" ;)
Ttb noticed no change on using artemis systems.
It makes a LRM15 into a LRM20 in how much actual damage it provide which make ammo increase as the spread is lower.
Saw the whole history of the Clans...... And now idk, if I want to play as giant war criminals & failures. But, I'm interested to see if the devs decided to add some redemption arc for the Jags.
Every faction in battletech are giant war criminals and failures,
@@edinalewis4704 But it looks like the Clans are even worse than the Inners.
@@edinalewis4704 Quite a "charming" picture, lol. Thanks for the advice, will try to find some more lore.
How does such a veteran Battletech player not know that machine guns (and ac/2s) are useless junk? ... 😋
He did say that, he kept them because he thought it was cool not good
@@jurgen4466 Yeah, I wrote the comment before he said it, but anyway: Bara does loads of silly meme builds (melee, ac2, machine guns, overheat shenanigans). 😋
machine guns sound horrible
Jump jets are a waste of tonnage
No
It’s like watching a Arnold impersonator playing mech warrior lol
the amount of edgelord is as ridiculous as the still sh*te ai
Keep them in reserves. Use 1 of them following with AMS. Put 3 on guard on high ground far away.
Two weeks later and I still can't play due to crash on launch...thanks PGI.
Pretty sure that’s a you thing.
@@edinalewis4704And everyone else on the forums with the exact same issue...
Shaders compilation crash? Try add ""-forcedisablesm6" key to game's start parameters.
It bothers me that not everyone in Smoke Jaguar pronounces "jaguar" the same way.
Why would they? Regional accents exist, even across very small areas. Smoke Jaguar is made up of people from different planets!!
we r in the future but still graphics shtyy. i was expecting more. It makes me sad that this game has come to this :(
Unreal engine 4 is superior
Kinda sad design weak enemies come in solo instead of strong lances. At least its an okish easymode exp.
They come both in strong lances and solo.
U r not fighting FRR but DCMS troop bordering FRR
Your comment is a bit iffy on Battletech lore. The devs did much better research than you did.
baradul what you think 6 lrms 10 if tons and slot free in mad dog, dps up maybe spread but minus heat generation. btw is me from twitch piotr1502pl
