I never understood why Devlins were so underrated and eventually fell out of favor. Most of their songs are really good. Vocals are clear an nice to listen. Guitar work was great.
So many bands like The Devlins, where that one great song they had made you wonder why they didn't just EXPLODE on the charts. Also see: "Beauty Has Her Way" by Mummy Calls from THE LOST BOYS soundtrack, and "Golgotha Tenement Blues" by Machines Of Loving Grace from THE CROW soundtrack.
This is such a great song!!! It's my wife and I song we had it playing at our small wedding. Some people didn't get it so we had to play it again and explain that it fit our begging of our relationship perfectly
Crossing the River / Something tells me I can trust in you, There's no pretense In the things you do. So much water Under this bridge. And I'm standing here... At the water's edge. Looking into your eyes... I'm crossing the river To get to you. I'm crossing the river, Crossing the river. You have the longing, Of a broken heart. Shine your light in the room, That was frozen dark. Looking into your eyes... yeah, Looking into your eyes. I'm crossing the river (Crossing the river), To get to you. I'm crossing the river (Crossing the river), And this time I'll make it through. With your faith and your arms open wide, I see you there on the other side. I'm crossing the river... Of feel and pride. There's no turning back, I know. Gone so far, and I've got so far to go. I'm crossing the river (Crossing the river), To get to you. I'm crossing the river (Crossing the river), And this time I'll make it through, oh yeah. With your faith and your arms open wide, I see you there on the other side. Crossing the river... Of feel and pride, oh yeah, I'm crossing the river, I'm crossing the river (Crossing the river), I'm crossing the river... To get to you.
It’s amazing how influential the Batman Forever soundtrack was to my youth. It introduced me to so many great songs and bands. Didn’t realize it until later.
I love this song. While I think they are a good band in general, their other tracks don't even come close to this one. This is by far their best song.. It's melodic, soaring, catchy and melancholic all in one, I especially like the piano in the chorus. It's a damn shame that they didn't write more tracks like this..
They have been two songs, that makes me buy Batman's Forever full soundtrack album. Kiss from s rose by Seal, and that one... It is hypnotic and transfer my mind to some other place and time, to another side of the river of life... Whoever you are - don't give up, just don't. There is or will be, always, someone who awaits only for you, for your love. Have hope...
Spotify is rubbish..the artists lose money due to their platform. Bots making playlists up taking away the money from the real artists. Look into it if you don't believe me. Shared money isn't a good way at all
This, Eddie.Readers Nobody Lives Without Love, Michael Hutchence The Passenger and Massive Attacks Hunter Gets Captured by the Game were superb. Fantastic songs from an otherwise shite move. The soundtrack of summer 1996
This song led me to The Devlins. I had a job to even find their album Drift in HMV or Empire in Limerick at the time. Think I got it in Golden Discs eventually. Lifelong fan.
When I first heard this song it was on Batman Forever Album. Since my mother lost her battle with cancer I aquant it with her memory and the river that divides life from death. I know one day I'll cross the river and see her again.
@@TheSsbcandidates i think he may have meant batman and robin. I liked the 2nd Nolan film. But they were steeped in too much realism. Took away from the comic book myth. Actually made me like the Burton ones more. If not for the dreadful penguin reimagining they could have been classic.

Everytime I listen I think of someone whom I lost ages ago. Wish I could cross over and bring her back.
Same man. Exactly the same
I have no idea what this has to do with Batman, but god bless em for sticking this on the soundtrack album! It's a lovely song!
Batman and Robin were flying and riding across a body of water to reach Riddler’s island where Chase Meridian was held
Absolutely an amazing crafted song..Very beautiful

BATMAN FOREVER
Exacto los mejores soundtracks pero la película fue mediocre
Now this is REAL music.
Had the CD The 90s.
YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN
Yes, because back then there was quality control. This was the Last year with Quality.
It’s amazing how influential the Batman Forever soundtrack was to my youth. It introduced me to so many great songs and bands. Didn’t realize it until later.
From the batman forever soundtrack one of my faves on it
Love this song. Man I miss those days.

True now music is becoming vulgar and senseless

You gave them a great review..but slated them at the same time.
Stop giving reviews

Thank you for this comment, now I remembered how I know this song, it was from an old tape with all the songs from the movie!
Cracking tune right to this day
after so many years, and finally I find this song.. thank you
You might argues if Batman Forever is the worst Batman movie, but it’s soundtrack is undoubtedly the best.
Amen. Just the song Kiss From A Rose is a masterpiece in and of itself
I love listening this song...
My favorite song. 🔆
How's that this is not there on Spotify?
Annoying yes
Good question because of that entire soundtrack there's like 6 songs I truly did like

Wow this song ❤️ And now is 2021🥰

Para mí, hasta la fecha nadie ha superado está banda sonora
Si, no la ha habido. Y las bandas sonoras ya no son comunes.
Batman forever
即使是20年前的,依旧如此动听。Even though the song is 20 years ago, I still love it.
love this A LOT
great song
How come this has already been 20 years, anyone explain??? Coz I still feel like 15.
And now it's 25 years already 👽
I feel the same way. Time goes by but I feel no different than I did in 1995. I just have more grey hairs and know more meaningless shit.

every song from this album is a classic for me, the movie was decent too, much easier to watch than that horror movie that came afterward.
