This was actually my first CD and as I got older I stopped skipping some of them and discovered true gems such as this, Nobody Lives Without Love, Crossing The River, etc. My favorite Batman movie, I still have the McDonalds glasses, the toys, the Super Nintendo game, I would wear my Halloween Riddler suit even on hot days! This CD I listen to to this day. I wish we could get to know each other.
FINALLY! After years of searching, and waiting, and searching, Michael Hutchence - The Passanger from the Batman Forever soundtrack. WHY WAS THIS SO HARD TO FIND?
@@Riverratminiatures It often goes like that in later generations. It's nice how new takes on such songs can bring old classics back into view. Metalica's Garage Inc. for example brought a lot of conversations about old songs. These conversations opened a lot of thoughts between multiple generations of listeners.
Josh Feldman yeah mine looked like it go skipped across the pavement several times. I found another copy back in 2011 and bought it haha. I would argue possibly the best soundtrack of the 90’s!
Exactly the same story with me. My parents bought me this when I was like 14-15, all I knew was Twenty4Seven, 2Unlimited and Beatles and here I was, an absolute masterpiece with a collection of music that I have no idea is possible. Heavy, mystical, playful, complex. What a revolution for my young mind. Then in like '99 I met Lost Highway soundtrack and we felt in love immediatelly. I put a spell on you, Perfect drug, Driver down, Heirate mich.. They sure don't make music like that anymore. It was pure, it was raw, it was without bullshit.

I used to beg to listen to this soundtrack on road trips when I was a kid, and I thought this song was pretty bad-ass... right up 'till my mom started impersonating that sort of buzzy synth that kicks in at 1:01 by blowing vaguely tuneful raspberries. Actually, I still think it's a pretty rad cover, but that memory cracks me up. :)
First time I heard this was in 2014 I think with just me in passenger seat and dad driving. We were going home one night and he put in a disc with this track. I was like omg this is awesome. It felt so special :))) we don't have that car or disc anymore since he got in a wreck and almost died. As convenient as spotify is now, it kinda takes away the magic for me of finding an old disc and playing it not being sure what's on it. Dad used to dj at the club when he was younger so he had a ton of late 90's club music on CDs but was terrible w labeling them. And if any had labels it would be some sht like " t i t s " so you'd still have no clue XD
I thank you for the comments, and I tell you that these songs will be transposed directly from my CD of the movie. I thought the movie was bad, but love the soundtrack. And buy the CD thanks to the songs of U2 and Seal that I was englobed by Mtv at the time. Once again, thank you and I greet you from Argentina.
What I loved about the 90s is, as electic and fast as the dance music was, remakes were slowed down, like this one, versus today's "speed it up and add autotune" to the remake mentality.
This was my first CD. I think 95 or 96 I got for Christmas a Sony Discman and this CD and the Hootie & the Blowfish Cracked Rear View. First 2 CDs. I was 10 or 11. Good stuff.
This is a cool version of the song, I have the soundtrack somewhere and I got it in 1995 in the summer after movie came out I've heard the origional one but I perfer this one.

my god the vocals, such perfection.

Nah, it was actually the most wack and basic played on MTV etc.
I did do a skating job with models to this track, a quite fun job tbh... iggy pop is the source:

I had no idea this was a cover till I heard the original years later. I love em both.

For you guys, listen running UP that Hill, from placebo! Its better than original!😅
Same 💯💯💯💯
This was one of my first compact disc's. One of my most listened to as well.
Yeah I can’t tell you how many scratches this endured during the summer of 95 lol

This song kicks ass. Period.
FOR ME, BATMAN FOREVER IS THE BATMAN´S GREATEST MOVIE.
This version is really the killer one. Iggy's one itself is good and to surpass it means it had to be really something. RIP Mchael Hutchence.

Ride through the city's back sides
See stars come out of the sky
Yeah the bright and hollow sky
You know it looks so good tonight
I am a passenger
I stay under glass
I look through my window so bright
See the stars come out tonight
I see the bright and hollow sky
Over the city's red back side
And everything looks good tonight
Sing it
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Get into the car
We'll be the passengers
We'll ride through the city at night
See the city's red back side
See the bright and hollow sky
See the stars that shine so bright
The stars made for us tonight
Oh the passenger
How how he rides
Oh the passenger
He rides and he rides
Looks through his window
What does he see?
Sees the bright and hollow sky
Sees the stars come out tonight
Sees the city's red back side
Sees the winding ocean drive
And everything was made for you and me
All of it was made for you and me
It just belongs to you and me
So let's take a ride
See what's mine

Invent a time machine and lets go back to the summer of 1995,who remembers when batman forever was on corn pops?
I do.
Bruhh i saw this in theaters i was 5 but remember everything in the 90's like the McDonald's mugs bill elliott shirt and hat
It wasn't just cornpops, it was EVERYWHERE in 1995 lol.

'...vaguely tuneful raspberries.' LOVE THAT. Word craft at its best. Using it with your permission.
I always stop by this comment when I listen to this song
Best song on the album. So glad that Michael recorded this before his passing. Thanks for all the gifts, Hutchence.
Bit hard for him to record it after his passing.
An excellent version of the song...very correct for the film.
El mejor en todo lo que interpreta !!! Mi amado Michael !!! Inolvidable, eterno, bello Dios del Olimpo !!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖😍

Great and truly underrated song.

Best Soundtrack Ever.
This is such an ominous take on the song. Unexpected, but really unique.
Wow...this is really pretty badass..
This song has always been my second favorite song from this movie. And it’s my favorite Batman movie and in 2005 I got to meet Val Kilmer
What is your first fav song!?!??😊

No entiendo como George Clooney fue parte de la peor película de Batman en la historia ¿?
I have this soundtrack on record! Very rare and very expensive
Soundtrack of this movie is the best
The one thing that always stuck out to me about this song was that Batmobile sound effect at 2:20.
Came here looking to see if anyone else thought that sounded like the canopy of the Batmobile!
I've bought this album when I was 13 years old
I'd always put this song on repeat whenever I listen to it
This song absolutely fits Batman
Bought this soundtrack on vinyl, had to have it.
Say what you will about the movie but it cannot be denied it had some bangers, this song, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, Kiss From A Rose, etc.

Everything was okay to try in the 90s. The spectrum of popular music was vast. That's what I miss.
second best cover on this planet
dziobak77 ....whats the first?
george michael - killer
johnny cash - hurt
Well, the original was by Iggy Pop, so this might just be the second best cover of just this song.
@@dziobak77 what a fucking tune

Actually heard this song in a Las Vegas strip club!
Got this CD from BMG music service. Great times!!!
Wow kiss from a rose overshadow this song from my childhood

I know I definitely would!
increible esta cancion .

If I was a stripper.....
The only decent thing to come out of this film in my opinion.
Didn't the OST have a few good songs? I honestly can't remember anymore.
I only recall this from when the film was released.
King Vulturo "hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me" by u2. c'mon now
Seal-Kiss from a Rose.
Smash it up by offspring as a wild whacky tune can be fun too

Can't wait to blast this out of my 93 New Yorker and watch people stop and look
