i wanted to collect the Mignolaverse books but BPRD Plague of Frogs hardcovers are impossible to get without breaking the bank, just another casualty of not starting to collect hardcovers early on. Not to mention the Hellboy omnibuses aren't in hardcover only soft for some reason.
This work is great stuff! Nice alternative from dc / marvel stuff! Mignola has a unique style. The price like you mentioned is a steal for the quality of work! Thanks for the first look Omar.
This omnibus actually wasn't going to happen for ages-Baltimore had already been collected in hardcover. However, Christopher Golden saw the German omnibus editions and loved them so much, he pushed for Dark Horse to do them too. I guess the success of the other Mignola omnibuses and Golden's push made these omnibuses happen. And just so you know, it's definitely not set in the Hellboy Universe. However, Baltimore is set in the same universe as Joe Golem.
I pre-ordered this as soon as it appeared for pre-order. I love mignolas style of writing and I've got pretty much everything he's done so far. The best thing about mignolas is that his output quality rarely drops. One of the true greats.
Omar, Mignola struck lightening in a bottle with Hellboy. I love Hellboy, but nothing else he's done captures the horror, humor and magic of Hellboy. I gave up on BPRD somewhere during the frog thing; Hellboy was the light that made the other characters shine. Joe Golem was a chore, at least for me. The world building in Baltimore is good, but the characters not so much. For me, I wish sci-fi and horror authors spent a bit less time on the world building and a lot more time on the people and characters. For me, it's the people that linger in memory, not the plot or world. JMO. Question: Runaways Omnibus, The Invisibles Omnibus or Doom Patrol Omnibus, if you could choose only one, which would it be?

Baltimore definitely was a very intriguing universe that it was me established within the series from The Illustrated novel. I mean I read this when it first came out when they decide to extend the universe. And I was a little bit hesitant at first but I decided hey it's Mike Mendiola what the hell. Thank God I kept going with it thank God. And I think Joe Golem ties into this universe too and that's really good. too

Just read a review on amazon that said page thickness was less/lower than BPRD & Abe Sapien H/C's and the dust jacket was wrinkled or warped. Has anyone noticed these issues with your copies??
Take reviews on Amazon or any other site with a pinch of salt. It won't always be the case for everyone. Reason i say this is because i purchased the Baltimore Omnibus from Amazon and it was in perfect condition.
Nice! The solicitations got me worried as they listed it as a TPB (like the recent Hellboy "omnibus" series). I'll definitely buy this. Volume 2 (9781506712475) is due out March 2. Also, I hope someone from Dark Horse school DC on how to do black book covers. DC's all-black debossed covers are terrible.
