That is a name a blast from.thr past. Spoke to him online a while back, one of his videos at the trade college he was teaching at in USA. Used to live in the Oxford area, moved to dryer US due to lung problems I believe. Knows his big block US engines, as well as Minis etc. A-series.

Love the ongoing work on the Mini 1275 engine. I plan to follow it through. It's good to see a perfectionist at work.

I have just found your channel and I am really enjoying it. I used to live in England for my first 23 years then moved to Canada. I worked on cars since I was 13, the reason was my father was born deaf and could not hear himself over revving the poor engine, it was a Ford 1172cc side valve with a 3 speed gearbox.
I now work on Diesel engines in pickup trucks, my own is a GM Duramax LML 6.6 litre, big difference but still a engine in the long run. Keep up the video’s, thanks.

If your fitting the a cam (270) he needs to do a bit of work around the inlet valves and match up the ports to manifolds specially the exhaust ports they look restricted, you can see the carbon build up around them

That'll be a cracking engine once its built. Be nice to see it once it's in the car. .

Interesting about the hard spots in the bores ...I rebuilt a small Diesel generator engine ( Kubota) and after busting the glaze and putting in new pistons and rings, the engine burnt oil from the minute it fired up, and after several attempts to get it running clean without success, I gave up, and eventually the customer bought a new engine which of course solved the problem. I never did know the reason why it would not settle down and run clean.

Love the channel and enjoy the workshop videos, but can't help feeling that the best bit is missing. Do you have any plans to show some of the detail behind the machining and assembly steps etc?

Would love to see some of the machining in action.

Piper cam and arp studs on an injected mini sounds well nice :o) Those cylinders are waaaay to close together to be healthy :o

Ive always loved the A+, surprised your using standard rockers though.
Have you had much involvement with the vw t4 2.4 engines at all?

On the inaccessible diesels, will you replace the freeze plugs? I know they would be an obnoxious task if they failed after re-installation. tom

Nice update, which piston manufacturer are you using? I'd imagine nural as the engine is pretty much fast road spec, also, what is the profile of the cam as the SPI ECU's are fussy with cam choice, I use MED a lot for upgraded bits, excellent quality stuff....cheers, Paul 👍

Great video of the mini engine
If your uprating the cam should you do a mild porting of the head to get the beniefit?
