The role of the priest is as a spiritual father in the Church, and so is a role distinct for men. There are roles in the Church that are distinct for women, as well, and constantly saying why women aren’t allowed in the priesthood, you only diminish the very real role that women do have, already have, and have always had in the church since the start.

@@forlifewelearn Did you even read my first reply? There I stated that women have a great role in the church... Aside from being a nun, a religious sister, or a lay minister, a woman can also hold administrative positions within the Church (institution) and the Holy See (Vatican City-State). For example, the Secretary General of the Pontifical Commission for the Vatican City State is held by a woman, Rev. Sister Rafaella Petrini. This position is the 2nd highest position in the legislative body of the Holy See, akin to a Deputy House Speaker in other countries. Another, in the Dicastery for Bishops, there are three women who are members, which are Rev. Sister Rafaella Petrini, Rev. Mother Yvonne Reungoat, and Dr. Maria Lia Zervino. This office is the one responsible for identifying new bishops, which gives these women considerable power on the future of the church and its dioceses. Now tell me, does the church consider women unfit for leadership roles? Again, there are many ways in which women can lead and serve in the church, but then there's one, JUST ONE role that women are not allowed to take, and is reserved solely for men, and now these woke women are shouting "iNeQuaLiTy" when almost everything else aside from that one role is open to them... Why? What are these women trying to prove? What are their goals in life? What do they want to achieve? And how will it affect their lives if it was suddenly allowed by the church? You know, even if Pope Francis allows it today, these women would still have to go through the same 10 years of dedicated studying and isolation that all aspiring men have to endure before becoming a priest. So I don't really see what they're fighting for... Even the majority of aspiring men who wants to become a priest are not accepted into the priesthood because of lack of discernment. Just because it is allowed, doesn't mean its for you... There are things that are meant for you, and things that are not, you have to understand that. It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman or a cat or a dog, if it is not meant for you, it won't be for you, no matter how much you want it... That's just how it is, and no one but God can change that. So again, following the ages-old doctrine of the church grounded on the scriptures and therefore grounded on the teachings of Jesus Christ, priesthood is not for women, that's how it is. No matter how much women wants to become a priest, unless God wills it, a woman will not become a priest in the One, True, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. So again, my question is why? Why insist on taking on the role that's not made for you? Why?
@@shinei98 For the record, I am a practising Catholic and a deeply committed one, but it's clear to me that practically every role of significance in the church is taken by men, usually priests and whether it's a priestly role or not. The three women in the Diacastery were the first to be appointed to that role in 2022 and they are three of fifteen in total on the committee - the other 12 are men. From my own local experience, I can tell you that our pro life movement , which is overwhelmingly female, has a male at its head. The person who directs our music on behalf of the church in our country is a priest, despite the role not requiring that and despite the fact there is a world class composer who is also a Catholic who could have filled that role. There's not just one role that a woman cannot take in our church. Not being allowed to be a priest, means a woman also cannot be a deacon, a bishop, a cardinal or a pope. It excludes them from the entire decision making and leadership roles of the whole church, not just one part of it. And I think the church needs to look that fact in the eye, not pretend it's not there, along with women.
@@forlifewelearn To be fair, that problem seems to be big only in Europe and in the US... And this definitely has to do with the growing liberalization, secularization, and progressivism in the west that isn't really present on the same scale in the east and the south... Take a look and observe carefully... Conservative societies who maintain and hold onto traditional values tend to maintain a good balance of things... For example, birth rates are stable and people are eager to build families, while in liberal and progressive western society, population is on the decline as birth rates are failing and people tend to focus more on their gender identity bullshit rather than in creating families and having children... And that is mainly the problem in Europe... Priests are few because there's also a smaller pool of population who have the potential to be a priests... There are more senior citizens than children in certain European countries, and more people are dying than being born... That's why if you look at it, in countries like France, there's only one religion that's growing, and that is Islam, while everything else is on the decline... Why? Meanwhile, religious sects that maintains its traditional values (like Islam, Orthodoxy, and to some extent, Catholicism) remain stability one way or another... Remember, the Church is not supposed to fit into society, instead, its the Church who should lead society to the right path... If the Church decides to hear the call of these progressive members, and ignores its ages-old doctrine grounded on the scripture, and its ages-old traditional values, and allows the ordination of women, trust me, it wont end there... After that, next would be allowing the remarriage of the divorced, then same sex marriage, then so on and so forth... And from there, the Church will start to decline rapidly... We've seen this happen in so many other sects, such as in the Church of England, Episcopal Church, Church of Sweden, and many others... They disregarded their traditional values for progressivism, and look where it brought them, rapid decline... So if the Catholic Church does the same, what makes you think we will not see the same result? The best way for the Church to rebound and prevent or mitigate its slow decline especially in the West is to return to tradition... Just look at the Russian Orthodox Church for example, persecuted for so many years in the Soviet Union, and yet when they were finally free from the chains of communism, they rebounded so quickly... Why? Because even after external pressures, they still maintained and held on to their traditional values... Now, why then is the Russian Orthodox Church declining now? Because people can see that they're no longer holding any values at all, as that church is now plunged in corruption... Their bishops have extravagant cars, luxury watches, and hell, Patriarch Kirill has a yatch... Its as if their church has maintained "tradition", but forgot the "values" part... If your clergy is like that, I wonder if that wont make you think twice about your church... So you see, as long as the Catholic Church maintains both its tradition and its values, we're going to be alright... As long as we do not turn into something like the Church of England or the Russian Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church will not decline...

These women who wish to be ordained priests are clearly aiming towards it for power for themselves. Wait til they realize there’s a huge spiritual-moral responsibility that goes with the priestly ordination. Anybody who sincerely desires to serve within the Church has no time aiming for what they think is a “higher” position. That person would be too busy giving of oneself. This cry for women ordination is self-serving and with people like that, it won’t do any good for the Church and for any parish.
@@alphashanahan4323 Really? So are all the men who go forward for the priesthood as opposed to being say, monks, are power seeking as well? Should all men be monks then? Or are there different roles in the church to be filled?
Dear Pope Francis, please don't go down this path, open up your Bible and learn it well with your heart. There's a reason why the 12 apostles were males, that's why we ordained males as priest. Because God wanted it to be that way. And also look, Women have greater roles as well, for they are the representation of Mother Mary. When things go array, all the apostles went to Mother Mary to seek shelter, because Mother Mary's job is to pray for them (priests) and us Her children. That's why nuns are important, they pray for priests because often times pastors are left behind by their parish, even though they are the ones on the very front line who protect us from evil, and bear our sins, the nuns are the reason most priests are strong. Don't ask for more, for each of us have already been given our own jobs. Humans like to add but what they add often times don't align with God.
As far as i understand the only reason why there where female "Deacons" in the early Church was because baptisms used to be performed while the Catechumen was naked.
It seems sad that the Church decided to clericalize deacons in the first place. It would be equally appropriate to anoint all church volunteers as deacons and honor them rather than taking them for granted as they are now.
that's a different topic and is actually much more easier to implement as Celibacy is a practical matter. Like the other comment says, eastern catholics have married priests. Some of the Apostles were married, so there is nothing stopping married men to be ordained to the holy orders bar from practical magisterial decision.
Phoebe's role was probably more like that of a religious sister than that of a male deacon. Anyway 30 years ago, St JP2 permanently ruled out the ordination of women, and his document was definitive. The Catholic Church wants and needs more nuns and sisters, so women who feel a strong religious calling should consider this possibility.
from me as a lay religious I understand about this because there is no process for women to become priests in the diaconization process, and yes It is like being deaconized, but that is the process of becoming a nun , from that we have to learn everything, especially the process of becoming nuns and priests because this process is almost similar but does not violate canon law in the catholic church therefore let us learn by ourselves and without the element of fake news in social media and let's not get lost in the promotion of confusion
Nope, that's not the same thing. Nuns are part of a religious community. The diaconate is one of the steps on the road to being priest, hence the controversy and discussion.
If the church ordains women half of the population of Catholics will leave the church. Priesthood is for men. Period. If you can't follow the vicar of christ just leave. Don't try to let hell prevail over the church.
If the church bends to public opinion to be popular and liked it’s a bad sign. And people will just leave to Eastern Orthodoxy. Once you take one brick the whole thing comes down
This pope believes that scripture is relative to the time in which the reader lives, therefore a synodal church is able to promulgate such changes as the ordination of women. He only has to sign the synodal document along with the participants of a particular area. Such a document then has the authority of the ordinary magisterium. The Catholic Church is no longer One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic.
Please women don't need to be priests to be effective in the church Women have a wonderful role in society, in the Church just as we are, mothers of a family, single, religious whichever path God has shown us to follow...

No there is reason to talk for women. It is their right to confess either their sins or any other matter with the authoritative and understanding women rather than men priests. Nonetheless we have heard (to our annoyance) that such great contempt for divine matters has arisen that women are being encouraged to minister at sacred altars and their sex, as unsuitable as it is, to perform all those things allotted to the service of men. the most prayerful, spiritual, and service-oriented women leaders in church I've known were all beloved members of the church by all- and not one of them would ever dream of trying to become ordained. Thanks be to God for all the selfless men and women who try to serve others, and not receive praise for themselves!
Totally agreed 👍 just for power self seeking
@@alphashanahan4323 Really? So are all the men who go forward for the priesthood as opposed to being say, monks, are power seeking as well? Should all men be monks then? Or are there different roles in the church to be filled?

Exactly, there is nuns for a reason
@ And we shouldn’t rail away from the apostolic doctrine. We need to preserve as the Church is ever since it’s founding.

Szczęść Boże ❤️🌹❤️ Thank you
It seems sad that the Church decided to clericalize deacons in the first place. It would be equally appropriate to anoint all church volunteers as deacons and honor them rather than taking them for granted as they are now.
on 0:29 and 0:36 the announcer mispronounced the words 'diaconal' and 'diaconate' ... gradually, this is how women will become deacons
Might as well allow priests to marry again.
i don't think you know about the byzantine catholics.
that's a different topic and is actually much more easier to implement as Celibacy is a practical matter.
There is already a “women deacons”, they are called Nuns
Nope, that's not the same thing. Nuns are part of a religious community. The diaconate is one of the steps on the road to being priest, hence the controversy and discussion.
I say a big NO‼️

Are the results of previous study groups invalid - as invalid as any women ordination?
Bella domanda ...
If the church ordains women half of the population of Catholics will leave the church. Priesthood is for men. Period. If you can't follow the vicar of christ just leave. Don't try to let hell prevail over the church.
@James-fk2ki
Nope. Catholic to strong
If the church bends to public opinion to be popular and liked it’s a bad sign. And people will just leave to Eastern Orthodoxy. Once you take one brick the whole thing comes down

Did anyone else note that in the 1st picture the 'women deacons' had stoles on incorrectly?
Sorry 'mea culpa' the stoles were on correctly - but illegally!!!!!!!!!!!
Christ was male, therefore the ordained clergy must be male.
Why?

Never ever leave the one true Catholic Church established By Jesus Christ because of the scandal caused by the presence of Judas, the Catholic Church even Condemns the very idea of women being altar servers and Pope St Zachary and many Saintly popes clearly taught and said that it is a terrible blasphemy and sin, the current situation of the Church is very confusing, St Padre Pio did warn of a great apostasy if I recall correctly, worst case scenario is Sedevacantism because of clear public heresy, or at least maintaining Traditional Catholicism.
Everything opposite of the new testament teachings.
The falling away or great apostasy!
Of course this is papacy .... No wonder about it!
No there is reason to talk for women. It is their right to confess either their sins or any other matter with the authoritative and understanding women rather than men priests. Women are bot comfortable with men. You left the topic because women cannot be baptized by men.so women deaconess existed because of this . Like wise preaching, confession, distribution of Holy communion and anointing of the sickly women the women deaconess can be comfortable than men touching women body for prayer and anointing. You hold the rubrics with no concrete reason. Man cannot separate what what God has the image and right for them. He created both man and woman. Is it your way or God's way?
NO!

God created man and woman in same image and likeness. If Jesus did not elect them it is a system and patriarchy flaw. It is their problem of unending evil system will not fit for today. Look at the world and learn from each other. This God's way. But you are not responding to God's way. This is the major problem with you.

Pope St. Zachary, To Pippin (With Chapters), (Codex Epistolaris Carolinus 5), Jan. 5, 747, Chap. 5: [Against The Practice Of Altar Girls]
"Chapter 26 in the book of blessed Pope Gelasius' decrees concludes on these [questions]: that 'it is wrong for women to minister at the holy altar or to presume to do anything of what are reckoned to be the duties of men. Nonetheless we have heard (to our annoyance) that such great contempt for divine matters has arisen that women are being encouraged to minister at sacred altars and their sex, as unsuitable as it is, to perform all those things allotted to the service of men. However the whole guilt and blasphemy for each one of the pernicious crimes we have proscribed falls upon the priests, who either commit them, or, in failing to expose those committing them, indicate that they favor wicked excesses."
