I just got the Wiim Pro Plus about a month ago.
It's an amazing piece of equipment. I Really didn't know what to expect from it as a DAC. In fact I was skeptical going in.
All I can say is that it's nothing short of astounding in the way it smooths out the music when converting from digital to analog. Especially high definition music.
It's just flat out incredible. Even my wife noticed how much better and smoother the presentation of the overall music experience is. And she really doesn't even care about this sort of thing.

I use the WiiM mini in my bathroom system and I like it for the most part. The only issu I am having is that it loses the Wi-Fi connection every couple of months and I have to go through the set up process again. I was not having this issue with my Belkin SOUNDFORM™ airplay receiver, but it does not have a remote so that is why I like the WiiM.

I like the idea of the win amp. I just want a way to use airplay to power in ceiling speakers in my living room. I maxed out my receiver with my home theater 9.1.2 setup.

I use the WiiM pro in my garage hooked up to an old Bose wave radio. Fortunately the WiiM has eq so I can actually make the Bose sound reasonable. I mostly feed the WiiM using Roon. No, I didn’t buy the Bose, it was a gift.

I feed the WIIM Pro Plus through a Marantz with rebuilt floor speakers.
Setting the EQ to off , it sounds great, but using EQ, and set to Acoustic for most all music, it sounds spectacular for what I have.

The Wiim Ultra really looks it might be right for me. But I’m wondering how to use Apple Music with it. I don’t want some awkward work-around.

Dude, I believe it's pronounced "weem." But phonetically it probably should be pronounced "Ym." But no matter how you pronounce it they seem to be amazing products (I've watched many reviews that all seem to be in agreement). I'm considering a WiiM Amp for my bedroom.

No, not that we are aware of.
You didn't even focus much on the networking ability of the Pro and Pro Plus. To me the ability to deliver seamless music to multiple locations without hardwiring and for less than sonos, like half the price of the port. I walk from my house to the garage and hear the same stream for with zero gaps or delays for less than the cost of one sonos port.
Is it serious critical listening gear? Not quite. Is it an amazing ecosystem, software and hardware for the money? Absolutely!

Never heard that pronunciation. Blue oh-es as in Operating System.
Correct. We actually spoke with some of the engineers at Bluesound and they all pronounce it as Blue-OSS.
I’ve also heard that Oh-es isn’t correct. Blue-ahs is the intended pronunciation
