A little problem trying to install on a Trek Domane+. The brake cable ran under the sensor and the unit would not fit on over the sensor. I ended up taking the sensor off and re-routed the brake cable to be above the unit and I was able get the unit on. Had a messy install by using plastic ties and electric tape to make it work in order to ride the next day. Plan on redoing it to make it a cleaner install latter. I'm in the US so my bike should go up the 28MPH, but because of a tire size error, the motor cuts off normally at 26.5 MPH. Got the following results. The Garmin showed 20, bike showed 13. Garmin 24, bike 16. And finally Garmin 33, bike 20. Should be able to get it up to 40-42 MPH, well maybe if I can pedal it that fast and probably not for long. Being able to have short burst in the low 30's makes it a great for the groups I ride with. Only issue I have to deal with is the Domane+ has a reading of estimated miles left on the battery that I use on longer rides. I will have to figure out the math on that since the bike thinks it is going slower.
Just received my order for my Giant Roam E+ GTS 2022, it’s increased my pedal assist speed by near enough 7mph impressed and easy to install, feel like the legal pedal assist limit in the uk should be 25mph anyways 👍🏼
Thanks for the positive feedback, in my opinion the badassBox is one of the best tuning in the market since it is super easy to install and remove..Furthermore, the badassBox service support is excellent
I have this chip and mines position to the crank arm mine works perfectly fine but I'm woundering now I've rest the mile range and do I need to to put it back to the back wheel now for a bit and then swap it back round
My only issue is the total milage shown. Bought from new i fitted a bagass to my bike fitted with a bosch. The speedo says i just clocked 1000 miles. How many real miles have i done is difficult to work out .
yes! indeed you are right because speeds above 23 km/h are recorded as maximum speed of 23 km/h..the correct speed is not displayed since there are no interactions with the engine software.. this is the beauty and simplicity of the BAB
please check that the magnet is properly aligned. please send a photo of the box aligned with the magnet to info@ebikespartsandaccessories.com we will check it out for you!
Hey! Is it really necessary to buy a badasss box exactly for a Yamaha engine or the bosh model is also suitable for Yamaha (if you are able to mount it somehow) and it's only about the shape of a speed sensor? Or it has something to do with different soft used by different brand? Thanks for your answer
We could work for a tuning solution if the magnet shape is similar to one of our design. Please forward the speed sensor photo via email to: info@ebikespartsandaccessories.com

I am experiencing trouble with my box. The motor stutters and kicks in and out at low speed in low gears and I cannot get the indicated velocity change. I have moved the magnet up and down the spoke without solving this problem. Anyone have any ideas?

@@christophermooney8928 that is awesome, my sincere apologies for the misleading info, I am not familiar with the assemblage of throttle kits on the Bosch motor. I was sure that it was not possible to install such kit..:-(
Due to different bikes design configurations it could happen that the speed sensor is too close to the magnet. In this case, we advise to twist the magnet at 90 degrees to gain some extra clearance and thus improve the magnetic communication between the badassbox and the magnet.

Yes you are correct, the badassbox does not retain the speedometer accuracy for speeds above 20 km/h. If you are after speedometer accuracy then you will have to get a tuning that plugs into the engine ports which can be messy as you have to remove the engine cover, pedals, and etc..
I have a ktm mountain bike (macina 291) bosch cx performance engine, the sensor is located at the hub and there is no magnet on the spokes but located in the hub, can we use this box?

I have tried to mount it on my eBike, but the spokes of the wheel turn out to be too close to the box, and I can't position the magnet correctly without it banging on the badassbox. Is there a solution?
you can turn the magnet at 90 degree so the face of the magnet point up into the ski or down to the floor. Other option is to relocate the magnet on the further spoke, the one on the other side of the wheel.. both method allows for extra clearance between the box and the magnet.. Is there a DIY guide for a Badassbox? It does not look that "intelligent". Simple microcontroller, hall sensor, electromagnet. Problem with the real thing is it halves the rate, which is utterly stupid IMO. I want it to reduce the rate by like 10-20%, to get the promissed speed: Bosch motors usually run 22,5 when they show 25 on display. I just want to fix that glitch, not speed into illegal terrtory.
I do not think that it is a stupid system at all since it is a plug and play tuning that only interfere with the speed sensor..if you want to retain the correct speed then you will require a tuning that plugs directly into the speed sensor and also on the engine port..it is only with this configuration that you will be able to manipulate the incoming signal from the speed sensor (data)..in order to do this you will require a microchip (which make use of different electronics and communication system that completely differs from the standard micro-controller system used to halve the speed sensor signal). Then, the incoming signal require to be manipulated and adjusted to match and override the engine software..but retaining the correct displayed speed. It is only in this way that you will be able to get the real speed displayed..on a personal point of view, I do not care about the real speed when I am riding..as the landscape is more interesting that seeing numbers.. and less dangerous..
@@ebikespartsandaccessories3039 I'm not interested in how the solution is achieved, the thing I call stupid is halving the rate. Why can't that be flexible. Like 10% slower? That would make more sense, as you can choose your own new limit you are comfortable with. Going from 25 to 50 max is pretty kamikaze I think.
@@lovemadeinjapan please read the above as I did explain in details why this cannot be archived with the badassBox as it rely on micro controllers.. to archive a desire speed rate then you will have to install a Volspeed or SpeedBox or any tuning that plugs into the engine....completely different electronics and a far complex programming processes..
@@ebikespartsandaccessories3039 Does the badass have a microcontroller or not? If it does, it is a matter of changing the code. I'm halfway to make my own. The sensing of the magnet is working.
