I have had 3 Badassbox fitted to 3 different EBikes, firstly a 2018 Giant Road E with a Yamaha motor and it worked fine. Average speed was 21mph on Turbo setting. Dramatically reduced the range though. So I bought a spare battery that fits neatly on top of the down tube with a bracket supplied with it. Plugs straight into the bike and cuts in when the main battery runs out of charge. Not cheap, £400, but worth it to take your range to about 60miles on Turbo setting. Much more obviously with less assistance. Secondly, I fitted a Badassbox to a 2019 Pinarello Nytro E road bike with the Fazua system. Motor and battery in downtube. Different planet to the Giant, but twice as expensive to buy. Once again, average speed on Turbo mode was 21mph and reduced range to 30 miles. Bought a spare battery that weighed the same as a full water bottle and fitted it into the seat tube bottle cage. Same again, about 60 miles range, but capable of keeping up with most fast club rides. Finally, at Christmas, because of the shocking state of the roads in my area and probably yours too, I have bought a 2022 Haibike Alltrail, fitted road tyres and a Badassbox and I'm waiting to try it this weekend. Fingers crossed. A couple of tips. I always replace the Badassbox battery after every 60 mile ride with a fully charged rechargeable battery, takes 30 seconds. Always turn the Badassbox magnet 90 degrees on the spoke nearest to the box for optimum performance. Have fun and take care.
Didn’t work on my cube stereo 140. After a short time of it working it caused an error message and caused the motor to stop working. Took it off and the motor worked fine again. Waste of money for me. So wanted this to work too. I have the Knox BUI330 my mate has the older display and his works fine with no error messages however as suggested, it screws up your range and speed read out.
I installed the box on my Giant Entour E + O disc and 8 gears.
Installed mine today, I had a small problem initially as there is a cap on end of the shimano sensor to cover the screw that fastens it to the bike. I had to remove the cap otherwise bad ass didn't clip on to the sensor. I also received a few error messages before I fitted it. And seem to have non now, but I've only been on a short ride so time will tell. Is all the speed 1/2 on speedo because according to the speedo I can't get above 12mph?
What you failed to mention as with my unrestricted;range is drastically reduced because from being an “assist” bike you now got an electric moped;I get 15 miles ish on 250W motor(fazua)unrestricted 30 ish operating in “assist”
I’ve had one on a Brose motor fur 2 years and couldn’t live without it. Battery life will be affected as it is likely to be boosting your power all the time except on significant downhills where you are doing over 30 mph. I have never really noticed any significant drop, I frequently do over 40 miles, and today over 50 and I have never ran out of battery.(500wh) I have a new bike with E8000 and after the first ride I have bought a Badassbox, will try it tomorrow.
Did You Tried riding it in the rain or wet conditions?? Did it get all wet an damaged?? An how about a long term review, does it give you eny problems or error codes.?
I"m thinking of getting one of these for my Twitter Ebike but, I was just wondering about how does it effect the battery? do you find that the battery had a shorter range?
Derestricting itself won't drain your battery any more than normal, It's the speed you decide to go which will! Because the faster you go the more the motor is fighting resistance. Just ride your bike steady like you normally would before derestriction and you'll be lasting the same. Soon as you push your bike up that speedo then expect lower range. I have a speedbox 2 fitted to my bike, I can simply turn it on or off by the light switch and it's connected inside my motor cover no batteries required limit completely lifted and all clock parameters stay correct. I believe this badass box just tricks your bike into thinking it's going slower than it is and half's your speedo, Plus the battery and crude fitting I'm not a fan of it but it is the easiest to install.

Simpler method: add a magnet inside the pedal, change position to lign with the new magnet. You are completely "derestricted".
The standard magnet will work fine. Top tip, wrap some gorilla tape round the magnet, in the unlikely event it works loose, it won't drop off 👍
I'm glad I got see your review as just bought and tested mine way faster but wasn't showing anything faster than the 16mph cut off

I’m interested how water proof was it ???
Same here, is it worth it? Would you buy a second time?
I have had one fitted on my bike .
The bike gets wet and muddy , then I wash and rinse the bike , chucking buckets of water over it
I used it for brose driving for 2 months no error messages.

kan je hem uit snel uit zetten als je politie staat met een rollenbank
@@blueberry038 nee dan moet je de bic er af klikken en de magneet weer +/- 1cm verschuiven
hey mate, are you still using the badass box? what's it like long term etc👋

In the badass video you should turn your magnet round 90° so it’s pointing upwards went in front of the sensor.
Why is that ?
No idea
Hi ,does anyone know how to get rid of the error code.? cant seem to get my bad ass box set up.
You get any 050 error codes
I just got this bike waiting on it being delivered what do you think of it 🙂

Hi I’m interested in getting Mylos devices from my E bike but could you just help me out does this product kill the battery

A great bit of kit , i fitted mine on my Bosch Performance Line CX around 18 months ago .

Yeah, it will affect the battery drasticly. Depends on the speed and bike setting (eco, sport, turbo)

Got mine tiday but it rubbed in the spokes
Does it effect the accuracy of your odometer?
yes
That means do not buy used ebikes, only new.
Thanks
I bought one six months ago and it didn't work, I tried various methods but no joy the company gave me my money back luckily.
Did you get any error message or it did not work at all?
@@dennisfritz1374 It didn't work at all, contact the seller he just suggested I send it back for a refund.
Why not just relocate sensor and put some magnet on your crank like shown here -> th-cam.com/video/0jZJjSdn1ao/w-d-xo.html
That doesn't work on Shimano steps. I tried it and got error codes every time
