Good morning Mary :) I too love going to antique malls for nostalgia reasons, I even tear up when I see things that remind me of my grandparents who have gone onto glory. I have several dollhouses that I’ve built, it’s a labor of love, but so worth it. My love for them stems from when I was little. My daddy got really sick one year and couldn’t work and my parents didn’t have any money, so my daddy had a friend with a little girl my age and they bartered.....her dad paid for the materials and my daddy built two dollhouses. It’s one of my most prized possessions. My mom made furniture, pictures, lamps and all with her own two hands. I will forever collect miniatures and have dollhouses now, it’s ingrained in me.
@@tep1962 aww...thank you! My parents are still with me, but they’re declining in health daily and it’s so hard to watch. My daddy had a stroke last year and I took care of him a lot, it’s so hard to see someone who was SO strong your entire life, now depend on you for help. Breaks my heart....and now I’m tearing up! 🥲
@@janiebirdthorn Oh you took the words right out of my mouth. Watching both parents detirriate from cancer was so hard, but watching that once strong tower, my daddy was unspeakably hard. He was always our protector.
@@tep1962 exactly! My daddy has been my world my whole life, and watching him go from strong and my protector, to wearing diapers and using a walker, is unspeakably difficult. Ok, now the tears are flowing! 😭
I really like it that you let us know what you are looking for - even if you don't end up finding it. It just adds to the fun of the hunt! My 9 year old daughter and I greatly enjoy your channel. Thank you!
I agree about nostalgia...love seeing the old things that bring back memories of my darling grandparents. Meeting your hubby for lunch....so sweet...and his big smile when he saw you. He is clearly as in love with you as when you first met. Precious!
Mary, you can take us along antiquing, thrifting, junking, or whatever, and that includes going to flea markets! I love finding a special piece to makeover and turn into a one-of-a-kind beauty! ~Margie
When I saw those cups with the little birds, I said, "Get those, Mary!" I can see that headboard turned into a gate so I know you'll be able to make it into something glorious. I'm sorry that antique headboard/footboard was so expensive as I was picturing it turned into the cutest bench. Loved this vicarious outing!
Mary, I thoroughly enjoyed antique shopping. I think about who loved the pieces. Very nostalgic as well. My favorite was your lunch date with your husband. So sweet. Blessings to you and your family ☘️💚🍀
I’ve always been nostalgic ever since I can remember I think that’s why I’m so attracted to antiques thank you for sharingThat’s why I always love listening to music it takes me back to the days happier days
❤ Hi Mary, I totally relate to you that I have always loved and appreciated the old vintage, antiques, full of beauty in character pieces! I am very nostalgic as well…all of my life! I don’t have the modern decorating flavours at all! I really love the old bed frame that you found!
Ohhhh, that was fun! When you put the $6 green bucket back on the shelf I wondered why you didn’t get it since it would be perfect for your home. Glad to see you bought it! I 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕 the bird cups. I would definitely have bought them. I think the garden gate is wonderful. You can hang a wreath on it....maybe include the green bucket in the wreath with some white tulips??? What would the gate look like hung upside down with the legs sticking up? Might be interesting...Thanks again for taking us along with you, Mary! I enjoyed the journey. ❤️😍❤️
Oh I am thrilled to see you purchased those tea cups with the sweet little birds on them! "In The Garden" is one of my all-time favorite hymns! If you get the chance, check out The Church Sisters rendition of it here on YT, I think you may enjoy it! :) -PJ
I’m nostalgic as well. I’ve always felt that I don’t “fit in” with my generation. I long to live in the days of my grandparents and parents. But I know that the Lord is in control, and had me born at the right time.😊
Years ago I was living in California and wanted to move back to Texas, my husband said to me that I wasn’t looking for a different place, that I was looking for a different time. Probably the most profound thing he ever said to me. I am back in Texas, but now my parents and only sibling have passed on....so it’s not the same. Then, my only son and his family moved to Spokane, Wa. and a year later my only daughter and her husband moved to Oklahoma. I’m happy to be back here, but I really do miss things from yesteryear!
The headboard is fabulous and it was a great price. I’m certain you’ll make it perfect for that space. Thank you for taking us along with you... I really enjoyed the trip 😊
I enjoyed shopping with you, Mary. I know you'll do something wonderful with the headboard. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I am planning a visit to some of the antique malls and thrift shops you've featured in your videos.
Just back from antique shopping with you! I am so relaxed and happy. Sure wish I lived a lot closer and we were shopping friends. You are amazing. Your husband is almost as handsome as mine ! 🌞💕⚘ You picked the tea cups that I thought you would choose. They are so adorable. Your "gate" will be so grand. Thank you for the great trip. Please have a great day. God Bless you Mary.
Mary you are such an inspiration to me. I love your decor and most especially enjoyed antiquing through your eyes today. You and John make a cute couple, I enjoyed seeing him meeting you for lunch. So sweet! I live in Tampa Bay, FL I also enjoy seeking all the winter weather. God Bless You! 🙏🌷🙏
O my gosh! I just saw the silver canister set like my mother’s. It took me right back to the house where I grew up. I can just picture the cabinet where she kept those canisters. I like antique stores for the same reason you do...the nostalgia. I used to take my kids with me and tell them what things were, especially if it was something my parents had. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. BTW-Those metal, cage things are from poultry feeders.
Love that you showed us the cups. Seeing them in the mall you didn't say anything about the cups. But I said to myself that you should buy them. And so you did. Haven't been thrift shopping in a very long time. This was next best thing. My vote is for you to make the gate. It will be great and fun. Take care.❤
That headboard is screaming, "Please, Mary! Plants California zinnias around me!" How beautiful that would look in August! We used to the plant zinnias by our fence row in northern Indiana. It was a spectacular sight! :)
Everything you do is beautiful. That headboard...well, yes. You’re crazy, but so very talented. I can’t wait to see what you do with it! Honestly, I think you will re-life the headboard and we will all love it. Lol. God bless. Oh!!! I must have the in the garden cup! I am a gardener. How beautiful. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
I love the iron headboard, and for $6!!! That’s amazing. The thing about antique shopping is you never find what you need, but you always find what you want!
Trellis is the word that I wanted to use but could not think 🤔 of it to save my soul!!! I did that at one of my many homes along the back fence with an old metal double wash basin (with flowers 💐 in it) and the old water pump ( flowing into an old big metal bucket) all from my Grandfather’s house after it was sold. Wish I had a pic to post! I was heartbroken 💔 when we sold the house and the new owners wrote into the contract that sale included “all” the garden 🪴 objects in front and back yard!! 😥 I learned my lesson! The house I’m currently in we will sell in a year or so (retiring) and I’ve already started to take down or modify all of the outdoor decorating I’ve done that I intend to keep‼️ Still hope Mary finds her gate, wish I could send her mine❣️
I'm so excited to visit every single year 2 times a year..I didn't know what had a spot there I always stop in every time I come. I'm trying my hardest to get my husband to buy me a little house there. People have no clue it's just absolutely gorgeous and the food omg yummy the peanut butter pie is my all time favorite
I am from the Pittsburgh area and travel to your area often with my mom. Since the pandemic, we have not gone anywhere and boy do I miss those shops! I could feel my heart tugging as you walked through the isles. Thanks for sharing 🤍I’m calling my mom now to watch too! Hopefully we will be back real soon. Have a beautiful day!
My husband and I live about 2 hours away and made a trip last fall. Went to most of the thrift shops you listed and loved them! So we decided to go again with a better plan. Well, we went on..... January 6th. Yes. We didn't know it was the Amish Old Christmas holiday and most Amish thrift stores were closed!!!! Oh well, we made the best of it and simply enjoyed the day at the Antique stores. Mary, I literally gasped when I saw those teacups with the birds and the words “in the garden”! That was my mother’s favorite hymn. I would love to have those! I’ll be on the lookout!
It seems to me that memories like light are a force made up of particles or waves. Just like you when I go into a place filled with the remnants of the past I feel like my memories connect with the memories attached to those old things. It's a very real thing for me and I love it.
These are my favorite videos! The wonderful antique malls & of course how you repurpose the treasures! I would wait for that special gate! Have a great week!💕🙏🙏🙏
I was hoping you would purchase those cute “bird” cups, wink-wink. I think that gate would be cute propped up near your cottage with sweet peas or some flowering vines trailing up it!🌸 That was fun shopping along with you Mary!
Oh Mary, I love the purchases! I wanted that green pail and those cups, but I didn't know you had gotten them! I think most of us here watching your channel, love and would own the things you're drawn to! You have a great eye to purchase "Godly, Peaceful, sturdy, and pretty items!"
AWE....LOVE GOING ANTIQUE SHOPPING WITH YOU !!!! I have no doubt that you will make the headboard into something incredible ! No doubt at all.... So happy you got those cups with the birds in blue ! All the cups are pretty and such a great idea. I do that with my Mother’s crystal bowls she left me. I make a candles in them... and the reflection from the cut crystal in stunning. Such nice Antique Malls you have. Probably a good thing they are hours and hours away from me... saw many treasures for sure ! Does your very talented niece have time to maybe help with your Booth and decorating with you. She seems to be a great helper... you are lucky ! Thanks for the nice day Mary ! And thanks for showing us how nice the little cafe is too! Have a blessed week !
Mary, I'm from Ohio but now live in Portugal. I really enjoyed shopping with you, nice pace no rush. I feel the same about seeing all those old objects. Thank you for taking me along!
Can't wait to see what you do with your headboard! I've always been nostalgic too Mary! When the weather gets nicer, I am going to get my great grandmother's old pump organ. It doesn't work anymore, but it is beautiful. Such wonderful memories of my great-grandmother. I've known about her pump organ, for years and now I get to be the caretaker!
Please don’t settle on the headboard, it’s just too blah. You’ll find the perfect gate. Don’t give up! A friend put an iron gate over her mantel, it was about 10’ and took special equipment to get it hung. Also, I admire the fact that a few inches of snow doesn’t keep you holed up at home! Now that I’m old I won’t go out at all with snow on the ground. Two weeks ago we North Texans had some nasty weather, then the next week 70+ degrees!
I also love getting myself lost in time when I buy antiques or just go thrift shopping...There are some things that really bring back many sweet memories of both my grandmothers and my aunts, and all the lovely things I was lucky enough to witness as a young child, and that now I'm so lucky to remember! I call it "buying my past"...I can't wait to see what you do with the headboard! TFS
I absolutely love and enjoy when you go Antique Mall shopping !! I think you found some pretty pieces today 🤗 I love seeing what you eventually do to them also. So thankful I found your channel❤️
I'm so glad you got the cups with the little birds. So, I will be watching your shop for those. They're adorable. I have the perfect spot for it already!! Looks like it was a lot of fun!!! Have a great week Mary. Thanks for taking all of us shopping too.
The little strawberry teacups would be great little candles. I have often wondered why you don't include your husband and children and today you did just a little. Love the antiquing .
I don't know if I can when you go antique shopping again. It was absolute torture. Being in CA, and not finding anything close to a fun as what you find for starters, and then seeing the prices had me grasping for air. Seriously! For something simple that you have there for $5, would sell here for $20. And that's if you can find it. It almost makes me want to drive back there, just to go shopping. I hope you know I think you're amazing. And I love the things you find, the prices you pay. The things you make. And that you still take the time to go on lunch dates with your special man. 🤗
Hi Mary, it was fun watching your trip. My husband and I celebrated our 58th wedding anniversary going in and out of those same shops. I had written down the names of the shops when I watched a previous video of yours. We live in the Indianapolis area and we were there in January. I would not change my husband, he spent his anniversary following me in and out of those shops. What a trooper. Lol
So much fun going shopping with you. I love the Antiques stores and I too look for items from my childhood and the ones that make my house homey, cozy, comfortable and welcoming! Great video.
Oh my goodness Mary. You are my twin. I too love the memories of my grandparents. My Mom loved them too and as a result I have things and or donated a lot of this same stuff. Wish I could visit your antique mall. Thanks for today’s video . 🇨🇦
I smiled when you pulled out your finds at home-that you got the green bucket-I thought to myself when you saw it, that you should snag that because it is definitely “you”! 😊 Can’t wait for the Spring Decorating, and am excited for the arrival of my wax melts!
Please, please fulfill your dream of building and furnishing a dollhouse and take us along for the ride! I have recently rediscovered my dollhouse from the late '80s and have been loving finding items to repurpose to finally finish the interior. Yours would be (will be) amazing!
Thank you Mary for taking me shopping , I also love to see the scenery around where you live , I know whatever you do with the headboard it will be special , cute cups and bucket , I thouroughly enjoyed my outing with you today as we can't go anywhere still in kockdown , Take care Mary

Now that I’m old I won’t go out at all with snow on the ground. Two weeks ago we North Texans had some nasty weather, then the next week 70+ degrees!
I am so glad you got the bird cups.... I saw alot of pretties I would like too! Looking forward to DIY videos! TFS.😊 😉 👍 💖
TFS
I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist the bird cups they are so lovely 😊
OOOOOooooooo I love the bird tea cups. They would make gorgeous candles.
Love how hubby met you for lunch 😊❤️
I absolutely love and enjoy when you go Antique Mall shopping !! I think you found some pretty pieces today 🤗 I love seeing what you eventually do to them also. So thankful I found your channel❤️
I'm so glad you got the cups with the little birds. So, I will be watching your shop for those. They're adorable. I have the perfect spot for it already!!
Looks like it was a lot of fun!!! Have a great week Mary. Thanks for taking all of us shopping too.
My favorite part was that handsome man meeting us for lunch! But I'm also glad you got the blue bird cups, I was hoping you had.
The little strawberry teacups would be great little candles. I have often wondered why you don't include your husband and children and today you did just a little. Love the antiquing .
Enjoyed this video, Mary....Thanks for taking us along...BLT is my favorite sandwich! Hope you enjoyed your luncheon date!!!! ❤🥰
So Sweet, having lunch with a guy and its the hubby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol
If the headboard doesn't work out for your mantle you could always use it in your garden! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Can’t wait for the Spring Decorating, and am excited for the arrival of my wax melts!
Please, please fulfill your dream of building and furnishing a dollhouse and take us along for the ride! I have recently rediscovered my dollhouse from the late '80s and have been loving finding items to repurpose to finally finish the interior. Yours would be (will be) amazing!
Those metal pieces were from old fans. So cool!
Thank you Mary for taking me shopping , I also love to see the scenery around where you live , I know whatever you do with the headboard it will be special , cute cups and bucket , I thouroughly enjoyed my outing with you today as we can't go anywhere still in kockdown ,
Take care Mary
I love all the places you’re able to go to shop. The gate idea from the headboard is genius!!! Go for it. And then please show us. ☺️
Thanks for the shop along, I love attending my local vintage shop always unique items. I remember that headboard from child hood.. I love those blue and white tea cups. tfs
Please keep us updated on items at your booth. I think some greenery. And. Old glass items. May look good at this time with your furniture and signs.
Hello Mary, I am like you too. Nostalgic. Love anything that reminds me of my parents or grandparents. That headboard would make an awesome trellis.
Hi there, I'm Rob , you don't mind me sending you a direct message xx
Mary, never contrary🤓. So agree about the sweet memories- Mom was the same, so her memories were passed along. I recommend little green onions video she just fluffed her booth for Spring. Lots of greens. Thanks for the ride along. Elizabeth
Thank you for letting us tag along, really enjoyed this... Can't wait to see how you will do the gate 🐦🙂
