- This definitely has been one of the harder videos to film. I want to share my business story without sounding boastful about it. I hope you will find this video motivational and encouraging if you are thinking of starting an Etsy shop or business. If I can do this sort of thing, you can too! :)

I was thinking about that too. A local grocery had that same kind of ceiling and they sprayed it black. It was amazing how the pipes etc. receded. It gave the ceiling kind of an industrial feel. The walls were white which was a sharp contrast but still a light and airy feel.
@@bettypecoraro8104 She already spray painted it white in another video and it was a horrible tough job. Don't think she'll want to repeat that!

Hi Mary, About your channel relating to your Etsy shop sales... I opened my Etsy shop October 2020 with plans on sharing it on my channel(s), figuring my sales might start when I did. Well, I still haven't made a video or told my subscribers about it but have managed to get over 500 sales since opening (not boasting, simply trying to encourage) and, honestly, if I can do it, anyone can. You just have to believe people will love your product and put it out there. Thanks for another great video!

I don’t know what you sell, but glad to hear your feedback! I’ve bought from artists on Etsy since they first started but have been very disappointed that any time I’ve searched for items in the past couple of years, the only results are pages and pages of cheap imported stuff, not true handmade work. May I ask how you think people are finding you? I’ve actually given up looking unless I know a specific business name because of it. And congrats for a healthy start!!
@@eurekamarijka I sell concrete decor and home goods. I think it's pretty specific and my shop comes up whenever anyone searches concrete. It frustrates me too that you can buy the same stuff you see on ebay or amazon or aliexpress. Etsy makes a lot of $ on these items so they don't say "no" to any product. ShopDesignTime

Thank you for this video! I am recovering from cancer and received a cricut machine at Christmas.I have a storage shed filled with antique glassware, my idea is to make items out of them. You have inspired me to give an Etsy shop a try. I have been struggling to learn the cricut, I think I’ve got the basics.

Beautiful and spacious space. I run my Etsy shop in a spare bed room in our home. Its a little tight with multiple sewing machines out all the time but I have a beautiful view of a large old tree with many birds in the summer. Its my sewing sanctuary.

I just wanted to say, thank you for sharing your story. I’ve been watching your channel for probably at least a year, it’s inspired me to buy a Cricut Maker myself and starting my own Etsy shop. I told my sister that I would love to make some signs etc for her wedding in June. My mom then said that she just bought a book with lots of inspiration and she wants me to do some projects for her. (My mom is Amish) she had given my sister the book to read, and was telling me about it. She said that she thinks you’re on Pinterest or Instagram, and has the word cottage in your business name. I said, oh is her name Mary? Here it was your book! We were both inspired by you. 😊

I've heard a lot of crafters moving to having their own website because of the changes Etsy has made in the last year. I don't have a shop but I think the main issue was fees. I'm glad this is all working out for you!

Your journey is amazing. I’m currently working on setting up a new workshop for myself because I have outgrown our basement with my small business “She Shed Design “. Had to chuckle because I just built 3 sets of the same shelves from Lowe’s. My friends laugh when I tell them my husband bought me an awesome new table saw for my birthday. It makes it so much easier to work when you are organized and have a nice space.

About painting the pipes under the sink - I'd paint the silver part black, not the black part silver. I like the look of the exposed pipes. Very rustic, but modern.

For several reasons, after 8 years, I've decided to phase my Etsy shop out and increase in-person shows. I am glad to hear your shop is so successful. The Lord has blessed you. I'm not saying He hasn't blessed me; God just has other plans! I love watching your channel, for my own projects. Mary, if politicians had in their hearts what you have , it would stun the world at what our nation could be. Without God, I couldn't make it. You are always a blessing and an inspiration. My mom has always been able to take nothing much and with pray and hard work make it special. Shes 76 now and still the hardest working woman I know. Mary you are so humble and nice. I am old and cranky at times. I love your vlogs and videos. After watching you makes me not so cranky. You have brought me back to crafting again. I did it in the nineties. But my health challenges started by 2000. I spent most of that time just doing what I needed to do. I retired early in 2012. Thank you for being positive example!

By the way, I was inspired by you to do Etsy. But I discovered I didn't love it (as a job) and I was always needing my husband's help with the tech side of things. I found that for me it wasn't going to be sustainable. So, I changed course and am now cleaning houses. I found that's a much better fit for me! 😊 Anyhow, I love your channel and use some of your ideas to do with what I have to make my home more homey. Thanks for all you do!!
By the way, here's a house cleaning tip! You mentioned your corner sink was splotchy. Here's a pro hack I use in my home and the others I clean: rain•x. It's water repellant that you buy in the car department. It's intended for vehicle windshields. But it also works well in bathrooms for keeping away those pesky water marks😃
