Hi I think you are referring to Jimmy Magee The Memory Man & he was the real sports commentator of RTE, btw, what year is this, as I don't have any memory of it & I live not too far from DL
He most certainly is not dead. Jimmy is alive and well at 81. If he dies this week I'm blaming you. I still blame my brother for Mother Tereasa's death after comment he made the night before she died.
It must be after 1985 as I left Ireland at the end of 1985 and I definitely would have gone to a series of races at Dun Laoghaire. Why did it not happen again?
Fantastic memories of being at that race. I don't think my dad Austin Bishop raced that year. Also great to see the faces of drivers.
My god did not know about this in my hometown!
Me neather. Great to see this.
Back when the Irish government didn’t hate cars and drivers
My poor old dad in this race last corner broke the gear stick in second place rip dad
Watching this alone is a clasic what has motorraceing come to its shit when you look back at this
Wexford's finest. The Thompson motor company. Costin. Down around Crossabeg.
2.17 Princess Diana makes a cameo appearance
The T. O' Reilly Electrical formula ford 1600 race.
Is the narrator/commentator the man who still does the RPM Irish rallying show on TG4? I think it is... .
