    Yet another good video showing the great roads in Portugal, and then suddenly I saw some routes I remembered from my trip in May 2022. Especially the town of Covilha. Where you showed us your skilled hill start. The little cafe in the town square, just to your left is where I stopped for my lunch, which was as lovely as normal. I also loved the place, and hope to revisit one day.

    Thanks for very interesting videos. My brother and sister in law moved from the UK to Portugal and your trip took you due East of their last house in Aveiro on the coast. They've just moved up into the hills inland of there, so I guess right near your route, so it's lovely to see the countryside there.

    U really brought the weather with u, we had a pretty big drought last, you really were unlucky, although to be fair, I did some trips at North center high up during the hot days and I simply had to stop before the end of the day, way too hot.
    About the trip, not for me, I like to move at my pace, and can't say I would do that route to be honest, but nice job and thank you for your video

  • @palantir135
    @palantir135 ปีที่แล้ว

    The problem with rain on a motorcycle is that you don’t have a screen or visor wiper. I usually put some ‘rain away’ silicon spray on it so that the drops roll of the visor easily.
    All my gloves are waterproof because your hands can get very cold when wet even in summer. Heated grips won’t warm the top side of your hands.
    I see you often drive near the axis of the road even in (almost) blind left corners. I wouldn’t do that.
    Great mountain scenery with those big rocks.

  • @therealunclevanya
    @therealunclevanya ปีที่แล้ว

    There are some Templar crosses on building in Leeds. They owned a good bit of the original eastern part of the town (around Templar Street) and a large amount of agricultural land just outside now called Temple Newsam Estate (the Templars new houses). I believe that if you lived in a building they owned you didn't have to get your grain milled at the Kings Mill (a form of medieval tax), a corporate tax fiddle I guess. After the Templars were "dissolved" people put crosses on their buildings to benefit from the reduced taxation. I suspect Tomar enjoyed additional privileges over the years hence the proliferation of Templar Crosses.

    Grotty weather for you. Such a shame as I should imagine the scenery is pretty spectacular when dry and sunny.
    Dom sounds a really interesting guy and you cut him off when he was trying to tell about where famous films were filmed in and around Spain and taking you to see where a film John Wayne was in was shot. I thought the Spaghetti Westerns were shot in and around La Calahorra north of the Sierra Nevada NP and east of Granada, but I might be wrong?

    When it rains in Spain (or Portugal ..) I can recommend Dainese overgloves for riding in the wet with summer gloves. They are light and take up no space.
    You have a lovely singing voice I must say, but your pronunciation of Portuguese is horrendous 😂 Fundão - "Fu" imagine the word "swoon" but with a short "oo" sound and then for "dão" add the "ou" sound in "house" (and make it nasal) then you'll have it almost right LOL.
