Planting Winter Forage For The Goats

In this video we are planting some oats on our kidding pasture to give our mamas a little more nutrition throughout the winter. We first bush hogged the pasture to open up the canopy to allow the seed to get to the soil and to dry out the soil so that we also continue to disrupt the parasite life cycle.

Do you any pictures of how the oats did? How well did they come up?

I don't have any pictures but they did well. During the winter they don't grow to much. During early spring they start to grow really well and provide forage before everything else greens up. I just planted some and I will try to show how they are growing throughout the winter and early spring.
