I grew up down the street from his house which is called the Fairmount area of Bangor. I still live in the area today. As a kid I would see him on his daily walks by my house with a book in hand reading as he walked. As for what he used to hand out for Halloween I remember King Size Hershey bars. He was and still is a huge part of our community. The Park that you reference across the street from the IT storm drain most all sitting there was built with donations from him and his wife Tabitha. His boys grew up and attended the Bangor schools as well. He coached a lot of youth sport teams his sons played on. He was my brother’s coach on a few teams. He is a very down to earth guy and treated like any other local resident who calls Bangor their home. Hence why the gate stays open. The sculpture in his front yard shown around the 4min mark he just recently had done a little over a year ago. It was carved out of a big old dead ash tree by local chainsaw artist Josh Landry. You don't get much more Mainah than that! 😊 Anyways this was a nicely done video and your Lost Boys filming location brought me here. Love that movie! Now IT is so cool to see you represent my hometown. Cheers to you both!
I used to live a few miles from his house on Casey Key, Sarasota Florida, a long narrow house on the beach in a very secluded part of the Key, so never saw him around town, think he only came down in the winter for a few months at a time. Lucky that you got to see him around and about. Seems like Main is his home. Cant blame him for making Bangor Main his headquarters and home base.
Very cool, thanks for sharing. The same with Jeff Daniels when he returns to Chelsea Mi. Everyone just treats him as a neighbor. His dad owns the lumber co.
My parents had neighbors from Bangor. Don & Laura Harvey or Hervey. Their son had a trailer dealership. I love that Maine accent. Before moving to Florida, they lived near Stephen King. Sadly, we lost touch with them years ago.
the scenes of the 'pet semetary' were filmed behind my dads aunts house. Stephen King took her family out to dinner as a thank you for letting him user her back yard as a movie set for how ever long they had to use it. I grew up my entire life hearing this story from my family.
I grew up reading Steven King books and seeing the movies. I agree with you 100%, Pet Semetary was one of the scariest besides The Shining from when I was a kid. The death of Gage was even more heartbreaking in the book. If you haven't read the book by now, you should. It's better than the movie.
The books are ALWAYS better. Alot more details. Movies have a time limit. Books dont. I usually buy the books AFTER i see a movie and liked it. The movies will disappoint, every time, if i read the book first. 😅

I'm not gonna lie, I'm so beyond impressed with you both! You did some seriously hardcore traveling and hiking to all of those locations and I know because I've done them all myself. Everyone of those places is utterly amazing, and the experience itself is breathtaking physically and visually. Thank for both so much for doing this video! \m/
It's ok, the little kid is fine in real life, but yeah in the movie it's heart breaking and frustrating. You move to the house, trucks flying by all the time, the first thing I would have done is eighter move or at least put up a very strong stone/& brick and tall metal gatted fence all around the house with automatice closeing gates. Then if useing the property across the street the picnics would be WAY FAR DOWN FROM THE BUSY CRAZY TRUCK ROAD. Wouldn't you?!
The way Dr. Creed screams in agony and cries out, "NOOOOOOO!!!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!" It made me feel like I actually was watching a father who just watched his son get killed. Now THAT is acting!
My b/f (at the time) and I literally walked out of the theater; we couldn't take it. It tore us both up... I was crying so hard I was hyperventilating. I finally got the nerve to watch it again in 2010, and handled it muuuuch better lol. It's a really good movie!
I used to live in Mass and it’s beautiful in Maine, just gorgeous up there. The clean and crisp air, the foliage, the atmosphere, just magical. Really cool you two!
I've only seen Pet Sematary once in a theater, I passed out when Gage got killed and had to leave and never seen it again, I felt the light headedness when you played the dads scream. Many of his movies have had that effect on me, Cujo, The Shining. Reading his books only gives me freaky dreams which I'm told is a normal thing readers get from his books.
I'm actually in the middle of rereading Pet Semetary and yesterday took a 15 minute power snooze. Had a waking dream where Church was sitting beside me with his eerie green eyes, talking to me. Spooked the hell out of me well after I woke up.

Yes, I know a young man who is called Gage. He said that his mother loved the movie and named him for the little boy in the movie. Also met a young lady who was named Cicely for Cicely Tyson.
i was still in high school when this movie came out--my sister is a few years older and had married and had a toddler about the same age as Gage...this scene had us completely hysterical crying in the theatre. Still the most horrible, just utterly devastating deaths in cinematic history imo--literally all the scary, gory, awful things ever on screen, pale by comparison. King's most powerful work ever🖤

So happy you have both come to where I was born and still live today, 56 years later. It was such a pleasure watching this and several of your other videos. Maine is such a unique and beautiful place. Stephen King was actually a high school English teacher at my high school, Hampden Academy. Hampden is one of the towns next to Bangor. He wrote Carrie when he was a teacher at Hampden. He didn't think the story was up to par, and initially threw it in the trash. His wife, Tabitha, found the manuscript and read it. She urged him to submit the story to a publisher and the rest is history. The Kings are major philanthropists in our community. I live about 5 miles from his house, and love to see all the tourists gathering around to admire his beautiful home. Keep up the good work, and come back to Bangor soon!

This was the very first movie to ever scare me as a kid! And I have to say, rewatching this movie as an adult with children of my own now, it just hits sooo different! Its way darker and scarier than I ever thought as a child! I completely agree with him, this is the scariest thing he's ever written, and its because it is so realistic and every parents absolute worst nightmare!
I was a junior in high school when I saw this movie in the theater after reading book 2 years earlier. Thank you for taking me down memory lane! I love your videos, keep up the great work. x
I found your channel last month and have been watching several of your videos. Your knowledgeable collection of camera angles, film history, and behind-the-scenes information ties everything together. Your narration throughout the video is spot-on, as is your editing. Thank you for taking the time to visit these locations and share them with all of us. You two really do a fantastic job.
Wow!! Another amazing video, thank you so much for taking all of us with you!! I was so hoping Steven was going to come walking out of his house and invite you two in!! Love you two!!! 🎃
Thanks sooo much for doing this! I didn't read the book but the movie is one of my absolute favorites. I will NEVER forget watching the scene where Gage dies. I was in a theater and there was this collective gasp. It gets to me every time I watch it. I actually named one of my cats Church after this lol. What a beautiful and interesting cemetery btw.
I used to work in that area years ago and ran into Stephen king a few times at the pharmacy in Bangor. He was friendly and wouldd talk to you if he was not in a hurry. His home is beautiful with that awesome fence and iron gates. Thanks for another great and informative video!!

This is probably my favorite video from your channel. Beautifully done, you lined the scenes up perfectly. Really enjoyed this video. What an amazing journey. Well done!
Loved this video. By the way, I just watched that cemetery scene again and I think that cross you guys found was a prop from the movie. Sooo cool! I loved it.
I love that his wife Tabitha said, she was the one to get the bats out of the attic, because he was afraid too! The fact that he admits he's afraid of things makes him even more relatable as a human and a writer! ❤
As a child growing up there were 3 films that terrified me. The exorcist which my mother wanted to see when I was 9, and till this day is horrifying still to me. Carrie was another one that gave me nightmares. And the movie burnt offerings, Am a big fan of these movies still to this day. Totally love your videos and the grimmcollective, keep up the great work. Have you done one on burnt offerings at the Dunsmuir house.
The novel upset me for weeks after I read it ..Gage was absolutely horrifying and his death scene in the 1989 movie was disturbing. Thank you for bringing us to the site..sooo much appreciated. ❤️
Absolutely stunning! This is one of the best vlogs you have ever done! It is so wild to see the spots that inspired his works and The Pet Semetary filming locations. I don't always get a chance to watch, but when I do, I always enjoy it so much. Thank You!
Pet Semetary one of the best horrors from my list of favourites. I was a teen when it came out and yes, Pascow used to freak me out…. This video was amazing!! Thanks so much 🖤you are so lucky to have experienced this!
Love your Work! Love your passion and how you narrate your deliverance! You both stay well, safe and will be excited to catch you both on the next one, love watching from New Zealand with LOve!
I love your enthusiasm in this video! Really cool to see the filming locations of such an iconic movie. This was a super scary movie I saw as an 80’s kid and it has stood the test of time. Thanks for all the work bringing us this video. One of my favorites of you guys for sure!
I live in Bangor and I've seen Pet Sematary quite a few times. Usually my favorite time to watch the movie was around Halloween. I only discovered this video several months after the fact and I've always wondered where the filming locations in Maine were from the movie. I knew Mount Hope Cemetery was one location, but I've always wondered about the others like the Micmac burial ground. Thanks for revealing the exact location of those places. It inspires me to possibly go out and visit them this summer when I have the time.
I did all these locations too last year in October but you guys missed the opportunity to see the Red Peterbilt semi that hit Gage. It is still around in fact about 2 hours north of Bangor in a town called Princeton, it is on the property of a tow yard and I drove up there to see it and even climbed inside of it as it was unlocked and it has a plaque on the dashboard reading “This Perterbilt was custom made for Stephen King’s Pet Sematary” … it was very cool to see!! Great video guys I loved seeing these locations again through your video.
I have meet him in person years ago plus where my husband and I lived in Bangor, Maine we were able to look and see his place.,plus he's my favorite author.
I saw Pet Sematary for the first time at my 8th birthday party- The book is one of my dad's favorites and was always on the shelf so he was excited for me to see the movie... probably less excited to have four 8 year old girls screaming and pairing up to use the bathroom for the rest of the night out of pure terror 🤭😂
Native Mainer here from midcoast Maine, this is a very special tour of the movie. Thank you for bringing this to us. It’s hard to imagine how far away each filming location was. Many if not all his movies were partially filmed in Maine. I was able to see one location from the movie Thinner, that was pretty great.
You guys are such a blessing. I love and appreciate what you guys do and this video specifically really takes the cake for me. I love Stephen King and Pet Sematary is the scariest novel I have ever read and the film was terrifying. I cannot believe how beautiful it is up there. (Btw I didn't know you were from the Burgh, my husband and I are too. Mount Lebanon and Bethel Park specifically) which is cool . Thank you guys for this 🖤😭 You and Jessica are the best.
How did I just now find this channel?! I moved to Maine 22 years ago, and will die here. It is 'The way life should be.' I suggest that you make your Stephen King videos in the fall. It's the very best time of year for a myriad of reasons. Who doesn't love fall?! Here in Maine, between mid Sept to the end of November, bar none, is the most beautiful time. The heat has finally broke, the humidity down to a breathable index. The color of the foliage would knock your socks off!! The air, which is far cleaner than Cali, becomes a composed scent of wood burning in stoves, fresh musky dirt, and the spice of composting nature. Oh, and aside from the overall energy of fall here, and this is most important of all; tourist season is over. Trying to make videos during the summer months would definitely cramp your style. Like, total nightmare, especially for us natives. I'm only 2 videos in on what is likely going to be a marathon binge! I absolutely adore you two! Can't wait to see more if your videos.
This video gave me so many emotions from goosebumps to sadness to being in awe truly an amazing video as always I so love you guys and that you do what you do and I also absolutely love your intro lol
This. Is. Amazing. The ambiance is perfection. I am from St. Louis, but always tell my husband, if we ever leave here, it's off to Maine. This right here is why.
I grew up in Stephen King Country (Augusta, Maine) and a teacher at my high school was a production assistant for Pet Sematary, he used to wear his crew shirt all the time. And as many times as I've hiked the Bubbles I never realized that's what was in the film.
I once lived near the filming location for Pet Semetary 2, Arabia Mountain and grew up a mile from Stone Mountain both are the same granite rock formation miles apart from one another, and both were originally used as rock quarries, but are now both parks. The "etching" marks in the granite are where sticks of dynamite were inserted to explode and separate large sections of granite blocks used later for early buildings and structures all across the world. I Love all your videos! You do an incredibly interesting, respectful and cinematic presentation in all your projects and your time and skills are appreciated because your end product is quality entertainment which serves to edify and educate. Thanks for all you do.
This was excellent! Stephen King is 1 of my fav authors. Both “It” and “Pet Cemetary” were better in written form than in movie form. Both of you have GOT to read Pet Cemetary especially. Love your videos!!
I loved this video. So much information, you both go way and BEYOND! From George’s head stone for IT, carries headstone 🪦 for the movie for Carrie, the storm drain that inspired the scene for it, I love his house! His gate, STEPEN KING IS EVERYTHING! THANK YOU AGAIN!
Guys - I absolutely loved this video. You will love this. I was sitting on my living room couch in front of a large picture window on a stormy, rainy Halloween night reading Pet Sematary. My husband was out of town on a gig so I was alone. Just as I got to the part where they mention Mt. Hope Cemetery, there was a loud crack and something hit the roof of the house and the power went out. I freaked out. I was just looking out the window after I read that passage. The lightning lit up the area across the street. You see, I lived across the street from Mt. Hope Cemetery in central Michigan. Too much for me. I no longer live there. Whew...My favorite Stephen King's works are "Salem's Lot" and "Storm of the Century". A wonderful video guys. So much work went into this. It is appreciated. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
That scenery is stunningly beautiful🥰 Thank you very much for taking your time to show the scenery around the filming locations. It gives your videos and you guys in general some extra love and appreciation for what you do. I know there are other youtubers who also make videos about filming locations but you guys are truly dedicated though.
This was my favorite movie as a child I’d watch it over and over again. I was more scared of Zelda than I was gage lol. Such a great video how cool to be able to be there. Amazing!
Thank you for sharing Stephen King's home! I'm thrilled to see it. I would have loved if he came out to see you! Excellent editing! I forgot Fred Gwynn (Herman Munster) was in the movie. My all time favorite movie/book is The Stand. The scariest was Salems' Lot and It (the original).

Its way darker and scarier than I ever thought as a child! I completely agree with him, this is the scariest thing he's ever written, and its because it is so realistic and every parents absolute worst nightmare!
Your filming location videos are fantastic! I appreciate the time and research that you put into these videos. Thanks for sharing!
Maine is absolutely beautiful , locations are so accurate ❤
Okay, Stephen King's house is officially my dream house! I couldn't imagine a more amazing place! 🕸
Woaaa there are so many inspirations of Stephen King’s novels in this city!
Wow!! Another amazing video, thank you so much for taking all of us with you!! I was so hoping Steven was going to come walking out of his house and invite you two in!!
Love you two!!! 🎃
Yeah,I think they should try to get an interview with him!
There is only one true Pet Semetary movie and that’s the 1989 one 💪 Great video guys!
It was cheesy and made for tv lol
@@kingrama2727the reboot wasn't great either. The book is better than both
@@leob4403 true. But you can only fit so much of an 800 page book into 90 minutes
My mom was like 6 years old when this came out, we just watched it together. Now I'm watching this video. The Gage seen made me cry
I used to work in that area years ago and ran into Stephen king a few times at the pharmacy in Bangor. He was friendly and wouldd talk to you if he was not in a hurry. His home is beautiful with that awesome fence and iron gates. Thanks for another great and informative video!!
One of my favorite scary movies!!! I loved when you showed Stephen Kings house!! It is awesome!!!
Wonderful job, friends! Truly enjoyable and I felt as though I was there with you both! Thank you for taking me, and all of us, on this journey that many of us will never get to realize. God bless, safe travels, and keep up the great work! Happy 2022 to you both and best wishes! Take care and thanks again. Really fun to travel with you guys.
This is by far my most favorite filming location videos. Loved it.
Awesome video! Makes me already miss October and my favorite Holiday. You can have Christmas give me the candy and skulls!
This is probably my favorite video from your channel. Beautifully done, you lined the scenes up perfectly. Really enjoyed this video. What an amazing journey. Well done!
Soooo cool! All the locations you visited and the way you both talked about were pretty enjoyable 👏
Oh, and MUSICIAN! He Rocks! 🎸
Thank you GrimLifeCollective! Currently I’m going through rough times, and your uploads bring me happiness. Please keep up the grand work
I am a huge Stephen King fan love all of his work he is amazing.
The novel upset me for weeks after I read it ..Gage was absolutely horrifying and his death scene in the 1989 movie was disturbing. Thank you for bringing us to the site..sooo much appreciated. ❤️
Its upsetting how he died though. His parents were careless.
Omg! thanks for made this, my favorite movie in the all world. Hugs from Brazil🇧🇷 💕
Oi
This is one of my favorite Stephen King movies
Such a scary movie and the locations are amazing and beautiful. This series just keeps getting better. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Halloween!
that perfect fall day is perfect for your trip
I have meet him in person years ago plus where my husband and I lived in Bangor, Maine we were able to look and see his place.,plus he's my favorite author.
I think it's so cool what you guys do. I love it, and I love you, thanks.
I would love to travel with u guys. I love to sightsee the same way, walking, relaxing soaking it in and finding information of the backstories.
Very well done, guys! Pet Sematary was the first book that inspired my love of Stephen King books.
I saw Pet Sematary for the first time at my 8th birthday party-
The book is one of my dad's favorites and was always on the shelf so he was excited for me to see the movie... probably less excited to have four 8 year old girls screaming and pairing up to use the bathroom for the rest of the night out of pure terror 🤭😂
You are a natural born story teller.
Very good!!❤️ thank you!
The name is Pet Sematary actually not Cemetery
Watching right now very interesting thanks
This is my third comment on my third video of yours today. So incredibly well done! Thank you for the hours-and-hours-long adventure.
So we'll done. I throughly enjoyed this. Made me feel like I was there with you. This was beyond awesome thank you !!
You both did a great job! Love this movie to this day. Hope to visit some day.
I am watching both movies right after I watch this video! You guys are awesome! Regards from Arizona
That scenery is stunningly beautiful🥰
Thank you very much for taking your time to show the scenery around the filming locations. It gives your videos and you guys in general some extra love and appreciation for what you do. I know there are other youtubers who also make videos about filming locations but you guys are truly dedicated though.
Stephen King, the only author to give me nightmares. Met him at a book signing, nice man. Great video, as usual. 💝
Right towards the end of the video, the trees began to speak. Excellent job guys...
Hey guys! Thanks a million for letting me tag along with you on this adventure👍 and all the attention to detail.always a pleasure to see there's a new upload from you
OMG! you just fulfilled my life long dream! Thanks for taking us all along for the ride :)
This is beyond great. Thanks for doing what you do.
I just visited his house today, y’all inspired me❤
. I’m living here in Bar Harbor, Maine and drove down to Banjor.
Thanks and love y’all ❤❤❤
Stephen King doesn't live there anymore. He rents it out as a writers retreat. Him and his wife moved to their second home in Florida.
