    I was the one with the green headband! It was great fishing with you last weekend. I had a feeling I’ve came across your channel before but was too shy to bring it up haha. Hopefully we can share the rail again, tight lines!

    Langosta from BD here. So if largest tuna was 60 lb. than only a Trinidad 20A should be enough reel for the job. Planning to go out here in a few weeks.

      You could probably get away with that. However, I don’t think anybody was using a leader heavier than 40 pounds. Most of the leader was 20 to 30 pounds. We did have a couple of what appeared to be very large fish show up that spooled a couple of guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were 100+ pounders out there too. Good luck on your trip! Thanks for the comment.😎

      Thanks! Well if you want to get a tuna this is the year for it. We will run out of fisherman before we run out of fish lol

      What does underwrapped actually mean? Please explain it as it is kind of confusing

    • @californiasaltwaterfishing9212
      @californiasaltwaterfishing9212  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was the first time it has happened to me (and hopefully the last). I will do my best to try and explain it. Basically it is when your fishing line gets twisted on the reel so that one strand of the line is twisted around the other. Normally the line should spool up so the line is side by side and layered but in this case it is looped around or twisted so that the line is forced to run against each other. To get it out you have to remove the hook after you find the loop/twist and pull the line out through the loop so that it can be laid out straight again. I am going to work on the reel this week and if I can get a pic of where it is underwrapped I will post it on the community page. Hopefully my explanation made a little sense and wasn’t too long lol

    i’m pretty new to fishing, what do you mean your reel was underwrapped?

    • @californiasaltwaterfishing9212
      @californiasaltwaterfishing9212  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a pretty funky occurrence when the line on the reel gets looped/tangled with another part of the line on the reel. It then rubs and creates terrible friction when a fish pulls. Check out the “Community” section on my page for a post about the topic. It includes a pic of what this looks like.
