Definitely you will save Cause you just spent little bit more at first for all that tools. That is what I'd been looking for. Thanks for sharing.

I introduced that jig decades ago . My dad used it for Big tuna in Mexico, when I showed it to my buddy's they laughed 😂. Now they see it works. - Eddie Fishtaco

Hey, the bell shaped sinkers and the KB jigs way out-fished everything on my last 3day trip (7/16-19) aboard the Vagabond!

Great idea, and you can use those shrink wrap skinz on the sinker, it would look like a fancy jig

I was thinking the same thing Phil. I’m going to make a couple for my next trip out of SF bay to the Farallon Islands. I think lingcod would gobble them up!

The original my dad used for day Jigging had a white squid skirt over it. Deadly day or night. The jig is like 500 years old 😂😂

I made one a few months back when they only ate the torpedo off my sinker rigs lol
I’m going to fish it in a couple weeks on my next trip haha

Many years ago I showed the same rig. And for day Jigging with a skirt on it.
    Some people just laugh.
I wonder if they remember me now 😀 😃

You can also powder paint coat those torpedo sinkers or paint them with that cheapo nail polish they sell at dollar stores.

Side note… can you do a quick video on how to transport big tuna or a multitude of catches from the landing to let’s say… Huntington Beach or Ventura? I heard fresh water ice melt is no bueno for salt water game.

@@FriedmanAdventuresPodcast that would be helpful as heck for a lot of us! Especially, with the processors being so backed up.
I’m going through the rabbit hole researching kill bags and finding unbiased reviews are just making it worse than I started haha it’s frustrating.
What should someone really be looking for in a quality insulated bag that won’t leak juices all over the interior of a vehicle?
Thanks for the response and your time. Hope everything’s going well for you big dog🙏🏼

Here in NZ we use saltwater flake ice to keep the catch in. Make a slurry with the flake ice and some saltwater and you will taste the difference in the fish when its eaten. Firms the flesh up way better than party ice, plus the flake ice can last up to 9 days in the right cooler/esky/chillybin.
Freshwater or party ice will never get to the temp a saltwater flake ice slurry can drop to.

      I think I would go with a Tady 45, a yo-yo style iron and a 400 gram knife jig

Only question I have is... Are those sinkers rated to catch big tunas?

It's not new we did this 40 years ago Two things make Shure you use solid wire thru the lead and a trick I used to do was to smash the lead flat and put a bend in it like a banana and pin a squid head on the hook and fish it like a flat fall killer on any thing that swim's and eats squid any way make Shure the weights have thru wire as a lot of those weights only have a little brass braid cast into each end and will fail and it is very dangerous to have a chunk of lead flying at your head when it does🤑☠️☠️☠️☠️

The guy misunderstands the reason people are using it. We use it when the wind or current is ripping. We can fish a lighter sinker and get down to the zone faster, without getting scooped out. The rig has rationale behind it. This isn’t a novelty, you just don’t understand the reasoning.

This is so stupid. Sick of people buying the hyped up BS. BFT at night will bite just about anything you put in front of it. Never had a problem hooking up with my knife jigs so why change what works? By all means go to your local tackle shop and pay $50 for a chunk of lead with some hooks, I'm sure that small business appreciates your money.
