    Another great video to help people out. Good idea about the cap full of oil before putting on the oil feed pipe. I have seen them plugged solid before and cook the turbo especially on poorly maintained engines. I would advise anyone doing this job to replace all the lines anyway but bare minimum replace the oil feed pipe.

      Wanted to touch back with you, hope you're doing well, I actually got into a Buick Encore directly behind the Cruze I did. Basically same deal, had to drop the turbo from the bottom, basically took out the front cat, the tricky bolt everyone complains. If you can get the 17 passenger side. Bc of the offset I used an 18mm and where it pushes up against the arm in front of the bolt hole for the coolant return, it creates a solid bite. I did it solo but some help with the turbo going back up from the bottom would be help I was lucky I lined up on the manifold studs before my arms gave out.

    There's a bracket on the catalytic converter underneath the car that you can loosen that will help with separating and connecting the turbo's outlet to the catalytic converter. You'll have to get underneath the car in order to loosen the bracket though

I think everyone enjoys and gets some satisfaction with you when the job is done and we get to see the complete repair and results 👍… we worked too hard here w you not to show us the start up lol… I do enjoy these videos regardless.. Being a mechanic is a hard job, especially over the span of a full time career, And Especially if you are a Roadside Technician.. It beats the shit out of you, and dealing with the environment plus the weather sure doesn’t help… It’s never boring and you never know who you’re gonna meet next lol.. definitely more exciting than not!!.. Just because you're a mobile mechanic doesn't mean you should "go through tools"...been doing this for 15 plus years, alot of mobile stuff too, and ive never once ruined a tool. I dont use electric tools in inclement weather.
    As a Cruze owner and enthusiast, i hope this had codes directly corresponding to the turbo, otherwise it was a waste of money. my cruze has 211k and counting and has been one of the most reliable cars ive ever owned. And ive bought and sold over 200 cars. Change the oil with 5-30 dexos and an ac Delco filter every 3k miles and its good. Leaks oil but i dont care.

    • @semperfimechanic
      @semperfimechanic  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No brother we didnt diagnosis
      The turbo wasnt broken inside. Metal didnt fall out. None of the hose wasnt broken off from being melted. I just guessed and what kind of Mechanic would say the love the chevy cruze. That car is a piece of shit and is always on top 10 worst cars chevy ever made

    • @thagerdorn2009
      @thagerdorn2009 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@semperfimechanic so why did you replace the turbo then? They don't just fail with no codes.
      And believe whatever you want, the reason cars get bad reps is because people don't know how to properly take care of shit. You never follow the oil life monitor or what the manufacturer says. I've put over 11k miles on my Cruze since November and it's given me ZERO issues... because I've taken care of it. I've replaced the typical failure items before they fail so I don't have to worry about it. I've owned pretty much every brand besides exotic cars and it's just as reliable as any Honda and Toyota and Nissan I've owned. People say it's junk because they don't maintain it properly...that's the reason most good cars get bad reps... something like Subaru though, they blow head gaskets even if maintained properly.
