I love vids like this that walk through different part options, and the advantages or disadvantages of each part. Would love to see more like this for different types of spec racing or kits. I would enjoy watching them even for rigs I don't own just to get ideas on ways to improve my setups
There should be wing nuts for the screws that secure the battery. Rather than the conventional nuts that are included. (I already lost one while running the car) Like the wing nuts to secure the battery on the B4.1. They had a good feature on a prior model, and then they removed the feature (???)
No gear cover? The classic RC10 had a gear cover, and it was a sensible feature. Then they removed it for the B6. They had a sensible feature on the original model, then they removed it on the later model (???)
@@xALi3Nx The body has openings for the front suspension arms. Dirt gets in. Exposed transmission is a ridiculous feature, which Tamiya has been smart enough to avoid (so far).
Unfortunately not. We are however developing our Scratch & Sniff version, which we are very excited about! Developmental trials have shown an extra 50% response time from turn-marshals. That should be coming to a frying pan near you shortly. -Brett
There are so many new parts that it would be quite expensive; things like chassis, shock tower, suspension arms, transmission, gears and motor plate, to name a few. Team Associated is currently on the B6.2 now, with a B6.2D option as well for dirt applications. I would look into those current kits if you are wanting to upgrade. But the B6 is still a great, competitive buggy, so it's not hurting you to keep using it. -Brett
Hello Brett or anyone, I just purchased a used B6.1d from my local track and I was wondering if someone knew what size pistons the B6.1d kit came with ? Just wondering if I need to purchase different ones or not to race at my local, high traction, clay track.
Your owners manual is your friend; please download and save this B6.1D manual for reference: img2.associatedelectrics.com/pdf/cars_and_trucks/RC10B6.1D/Team/manual-RC10B6.1D-90021.pdf -Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies You are the man, no doubt something I could have searched for as well but didn't. Was just looking for a quicker answer hehe, but this is no doubt priceless to have regardless. I'll print that bad boy out. Thank you Brett.
Does anyone else have the problem of chronic tire separation from the rear wheels (despite gluing with the CA glue)? I am using a 6.5 turn brushless motor.
That shouldn't be happening. Try cleaning the tire bead and wheel before you glue them together. It's also really important to use fresh CA glue. Used CA glue is supposed to be stored in a cool place, like a refrigerator, and if it hasn't, it's probably no good. -Brett
There are many pieces needed, like the chassis, differential, driveshafts and arms. We made a video about the two buggies here: th-cam.com/video/Hwk4sRelZI8/w-d-xo.html -Brett

Just received mine B6.1 and I must say that there is not much to upgrade. So impressed with the quality and what this KIT includes out of the box.
Rolands Gēgermanis same my friend just got one, and I built most of it for him. It seems very durable and so far is.
The quality is hands down incredible compared to Traxxas et al... no comparison., .
Im about to sit down with some coffee and a slab of bacon for my 6.3d finally
great bang for your buck kit
I would like to have wheels that have the dish surface on this inside as well as on the outside, in order to make them easier to clean.

No chrome wheel upgrades?

No need. Gears are covered by the body. No more hanging out the backside.

Id be putting the bacon guard on my chassis. 🐖🥓
What motor would you recommend to hit 50-70 mph? I have the b6.1
I ran a reedy 6.5T and it had way more power than needed on track. Gear diff is also very recommended
Is the bacon edible?

@@AMain_Hobbies That's only a little funny Brett. You should stick to what you know and not cross-over into the food market.

@@AMain_Hobbies I replaced them with RTR pre-mounted tires for the RB10. Problem solved.
(But it's too bad I can't get them with chrome wheels)
Can I use my traxxas TQ transmitter and receiver with this car?
Sure, that should work.
