    Changing the stiffness of the arms changes the fundamental frequency of the arm. This changes the speed at which a force can propagate through a part. This means softer arm gives a smoother loading curve on the tire which usually make you feel the car gained traction. But in reality it just added compliance and won’t force tire into dynamic friction as often. It will also reduce response but adds compliance to directions that the suspension movement can’t respond to.

    @Ryan Harris Try it without the brass C in the rear. We have been running all alloy at the rear on Ray's & Andrew Selaggi's recommendation, it's actually better & has more rear grip. Too much weight at the rear can give it a pendulum feeling and make the rear end want to step out at corner exit. We all used it at the recent Keilor Invitational.

    I had to Google the concept of a transponder! We never used those in my JRX2 racing days! It was someone's job to watch and record laps for each car. As it passed the starting line. That's why we had big white number stickers on the top and side of each car.

    How dialed can I be running an old RC10T3? I knocked the dust off it and put new electronics in it to make it go fast. (17.5T stock) I'm hoping to turn heads at the track with a vintage roller.
    It was your cleaning video and your tire removal with acetone that got me motivated to run again. Maybe if I turn wheel well enough I will drop that cash on a new roller.

    I am just getting back into the hobby after many years. After all the research I could do, I went with Hobby Wing for my electronics. I am using the pro version of the esc you have. I kinda wish I would have stepped down one size and got the one you have. I also went with the 10.5 motor. I hope I do not regret this. I am building the B6.1 Lite. Setting it up for outdoor and indoor clay tracks. I am building a couple different gearboxes to change out for these different tracks. I really like your video's and have now watched most of them.

    BK servos come from helis, which I have done for a while now. The company is owned by one of the better pilots over the years. I think they are a pretty good choice for cars. In helis they have a cult following but there is also a subset that refuses to use them. Thanks for the vid.

      yes. about the same difference as going to aluminum hubs but everywhere there's a gain there's a loss the lower CG believe helps the most. honestly the car feels about the same with the shocks upside down or on the factory way just when I push the car harder feels better upside down for me Plus get a little better lap times

    I know your an associated guy, but what are your suggestions for a Losi 22 2.0. I have the front end cockpit body and the rear motor standup transmission. My electrics don’t fit inside the body and I’m trying to hold more weight in the rear then the front, but I’m forced to move all of the weight to the front because of the size of the body. I’m really frustrated because I’m in the process of getting both my original Rc 10 and my Losi 22 into racing classes and both of them have the same problems. I don’t have much money to split between the two but do you have any ideas for a shorty pack setup like yours? Thanks for your opinion.

    Ray would often run black rear springs (V1) and heavier front oils, I found that with 17.5 I could go down one notch from his oil setups (hes entering harder in mod). Ray experimented with drilling another inner hole on rear arms in b6 to give more leverage in low bite. Not sure if the b6.1 has this modification as standard now. Been out of racing for a year.

    The worst thing they did was get rid of the 4-gear trans. I think they should bring it back, including on the laydown, and just drop the layback altogether. Standup and Laydown, both with 3 and 4-gear options. Even better if it's all in the same case and you literally just add/move the idlers around to change it.

      IMO mid motor outdoor is really fun, it forces you to drive on the edge of spinning out at every moment, and it's so satisfying to finally get it dialed in and you can even hear the tires scratching as you make the sweeping turns instead of parking and pulling out of turns like you would on a rear motor.

    With the introduction of the B6.1 versus 6.1D, I am totally confused. It was confusing enough seeing Associated’s detail sheet on the parts required for each version of the transmission setup (which depends on the version of the kit you purchase), but do you already have a video detailing the differences between each version of the kit? If not, I would really appreciate it as a topic suggestion if you could cover the subject. Great job on your content, and I’m looking forward to seeing more!

    Where are you getting the b5 ball cups from. Everywhere I look in the uk and Europe says they are discontinued.
    Smart looking buggy, just put the stand up in my sct ready for our dirt nationals in April

    Is this setup good for a outdoor wet track?

      It's good for anything loose and on the bumpy side!

    Nice Vid. Good suggestions, although I think I’d just drag out my old B6D and make a few adjustments. Accomplish the same?

    • @RyanHarrisRC
      @RyanHarrisRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a great option! The B6.1 looks like it has a greater rear weight bias with the location of the motor vs the B6

      B6d has a stand-up, main difference with 6.1 standup is ability to run shocks forward which helps corner speed a lot while still keeping good rear traction :)

    When using the longer shock bodies, do you use the same shafts or do you need to get longer ones as well?

    • @rmunday76
      @rmunday76 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same shafts. The longer bodies allow more fluid volume, and also let you wind out the rod ends further for a longer effective shaft that doesn't bottom out inside the shock body. Hope that makes sense :)

    Hi great videos, just noticed you swapped out your original capacitor on your ESC with a two capacitor, is that because it's easier to mount or it performs better, thanks

    • @RyanHarrisRC
      @RyanHarrisRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paranoia mostly haha I just know that it's easier replace a blown cap than it is a whole ESC

      @@RyanHarrisRC sorry, misunderstood, did you notice any difference with performance by replacing the original single capacitor with a double capacitor
