Awesome buggy! Great video bro! I seen a lot of your videos, and you talk about guys helping you on the track. Well... Today I had my first experience getting help from one of the fastest guys at the track, , he dialed my car in for me, and told me some very helpful info! He let me drive his car for several laps, timed a few of them for me! His car was precise! Best handling e-buggy I've drove. Learned a lot today. Thanks Ryan Joyner! Great video bro!
I dont race seriously, but I do fly airplanes , i build wood kits and fly some foam planes a jets . I ALWAYS make room to help new pilots or just people that need some help getting there planes balanced and trimmed. There are a lot of great people in the hobby.
Jason the videos are great. From one chi-town guy I'm 65 retired and I'm hooked I have a b5m light and b6d I built. Also I tell my wife of thirty yrs Jason told me I need this stuff.
I haven’t raced since 1998 and used to race semi pro traveling to nationals and opens and just quit one day. 20 years later so much is different but weirdly the same. The huge difference is the motors and battery.
Great info man! Always enjoyed watching your videos. I hope all is well in the buisness world but more importantly the family world haha. Peace from Ontario!!
Nice to see some more new RC content. The new car is definitely more durable and a much better build. I feel we will still see many say the car is not durable enough. Considering how often I’m on my lid I never broke anything on the 1st gen 6-series cars and don’t think I’ll break anything on this new 2nd gen cars.
Confirmed. Also felt it was worth the upgrade (cheaper than trying to buy the upgrade parts separately). Have to play with the heavier back oil, but been running the standard front rim with the wide carpet fronts, more than enough steering and never wants to flip.
Hope you're still doing well! Just getting back into racing myself and your videos are so in depth and well done. Please come back and make more awesome videos!
Jason, man I enjoy the hell out of your videos. I haven't really been involved in rc since I used to race carpet oval when I was stationed at Fort Know in Kentucky. Dude, would you possibly think of doing an 1/8 scale buggy and truggy shoot out? There are so many different options. Im having issues figuring out what's the hype and what's really what I need. I live in Phoenix, and there's an awesome track at fear farm about a twenty minutes drive. Just think about it. As a sober vet it's important to have hobbies. I just need help better understanding the relationship between durability, driveability, and price factor from a source I believe is knowledgeable and honost. Jason, my man, you're that guy. Please and thank you my friend.
I actually just built this car. Great video and have 3 questions. What size gear ratio or pinion heart turn are you using? What sized ballers weight are using on the front and have you tried the 40w shock oil front and rear? And if so how’s it working out? @ShortCourseWorld
I'd say wheels aren't included because some carpet tracks don't allow some carpet tires and may want you to have a standard front on slicks. Rather than getting some wheels in the box and not being able to use them.
Interesting vid. I ran my B6.1 for its first two races in november and the 2x1.8 pistons at the read are just not right, and I changed them to 2x1.7 which is what most carpet setups now run. Thank you!
Hi i Know this post is old but in the video are you running Anti roll bars front and Back, and is it completely factory book setup...? and what tyres did you run on it? hope you can help as im running honeycombs on indoor carpet and the B6.1 in this video seems to be going very well
This looks like the Buggy that can take this Old Fart back into Sportsman Club Racing!! I appreciate GOOD Kit Quality!! I've built a few in recent years, that weren't.... I REALLY like that they Designed it so it's not "Drift Happy". I like a tiny touch of Oversteer, even though slight Understeer is preferable from a safety standpoint. It sounds like a Car that won't need WEEKS of Tuning out of the Box! It's Expensive! According to you, it seems to be worth it Carmine 💥 ⛽
Jason! Great review, as always. I have two of these (stock and mod) and right at the end of your video you hit a jump followed by a 180 and rolled the car. Is that due to bounce from chassis slapping the rear like you mentioned? I'm having this issue a lot myself. Going to try upping the shock weight in the rear but I'm curious if you think a smaller poison would be better? TIA!
Is the B6.1 still good for a new 1st time racer in 2023? I have the RB10 but wanted a 2nd car at hand just in case I trash the RB10 in a race, .....when I actually start racing that is hehehe
dude, where did you get the RAD shirt.... that was one of my all time favorite movies growing up... every time I hear the Send Me An Angel song it makes me wish I could find it on DVD. ... Also, have you tried one of the Maclan MMAX Pro speed controls?
Thanks for your videos! I'm new to the channel. I just bought a tamiya bigwig and am in the assembly stage. I multle others as well. Any suggestions to make my Losi xx take brushless power? I know it will never compete but it's still a fun car.
How do I get started racing I feel intimidated that I would be slow and in the way and not being a adult it would feel weird I have a slash 4x4 platinum
Trey Gulbrandson whatever you do please dont allow yourself to be intimidated. Im going on my 5th week driving an rc car and my 3rd race is tomorrow. Am i fast? Absolutely not! But thats not what matters, truth is the amount of fun that is had the day of the races is beyond describeable. And as long as you are going up against better people, you wont feel bad if they beat ypu but you'll also bexome faster without even realizing it. Just remember at the end of the day most guys at any club race are just there for fun.
I know this is a year late, but if it’s not too thick to fit through the front sway bar’s ball end, you can open up a caliper to 2 mm, lock it down (most have a locking nut), then use the depth gauge at the bottom of the sliding gauge to stick through the front of the ball end and get the 2 mm depth required to properly install it on the front sway bar. You had the right idea, but you just used the wrong tool. 🙂
Hey, great video. I'm really new to the hobby, and I was wondering, what is the top speed of your build? I might look into getting a kit for myself and this seems to be a great candidate.
You forgot to mention that the manual asks you to install the front tie rod balls and on the next step it asks you to install the front shock tower which is impossible with the tie rod balls installed in the stock positions from the kit manual...
ShortCourseWorld oh ok I seen that on the website.. I was hoping that the off set was more to the inside.. I race the 6.1 in a circle track street stock class and was looking for a slimmer offset
watching this video at almost the end of 2020 cause im considering rather buying the older buggy with all the complaints im hearing, reading and seeing about the new kits. you say that it feels like they switched vendors and the quality seems better than ever. weird that to me the b74 has endless problems and with every one i know the 6.2 has a leaky reaar diff and will not seal properly. only with the latest 2 kits did they change vendors to taiwanese and i feel that the quality are worse than ever. i still drive a B64 and will only buy a new kit when i knw for a fact they sorted the drama out with the new b74.1. will skip the B6.2 completely..buy a second hand B6.1 and wait for the B6.3 or B7 whatever they might call it. this B6.1 looks solid
Have you ever thought about adding more lengthy track footage when you talk about the handling traits and tuning changes in your videos? (Like Jang's old ultimate RC videos) Those make reviews so much more informative and interesting imo. Idk why he is the only reviewer to ever do this.
@@jag5508 idk about the 6 line but i race my sc5m in novice class. Its more like a demo derby with kids lol. I have only broke a ball stud when my friend blowwd me hard. We have been racing almost every weekend for the last yr. He had a tlr and was breaking shit all the time he sold it and gat a sc5m the only thing that has broke was the idle gear. Like i said idk about the 6 line but i know my truck is stronger then his tlr and the slashes we race with.

I got mine yesterday from hobby town USA in Phoenix city Alabama astro turf carpet track aka the yard waiting to get a futaba or spectrum radio. Got the wheels and tires lined up next. They have the wheels for carpet and dirt really reasonable . 😃😃😃😃😃😃
Not impressed with the plastics. Front arms and front arm mount bulkhead will break. I’ve converted back to flat arms as they are reversible. Upgraded to aluminum front ball stud mount and front bulkhead. Compared to X-ray and Yok buggies the AE arms are skeletal and fragile. Why try to save weight on fragile parts when ballast is required to perform.

So awesome video great explanation and at the ending when you put the 24 grams it looks like it was nose planting a whole lot better I like it👍🔥😎🔥👌
How would the b6.1 do today against the modern 2023 buggies?
A specialised front wheel? You can still run the old ae wheels though right? I know they changed the spur gears.
ROBBIE RACER carpet cars run slim front wheels and tires. Such as the jc mono. You don’t have to. The normal size dirt wheels will fit as well.
Great video. Are you going to be doing a review on the 22T 4.0? I'm thinking about getting one would love to hear you opinion on the kit.

Associated are definantly stepping up there game! Super impressed with all the new platforms!
hi there ,may i ask you Xray XB2 & Team Associated B6.1D , which one is better ? thx
That looks like it lands so nice what springs r u using
Definite difference after the weight. Was there gearing change as well?
You going to do this for the 6.1D?
Was this the original b6?
Or did they just start the series at b6.1?

The buggy is dialed with the layback trans but the car is just dialed overall

Hey, great video. I'm really new to the hobby, and I was wondering, what is the top speed of your build? I might look into getting a kit for myself and this seems to be a great candidate.
These buggies aren't made for top speed, they're made to be as quick and agile as possible 😁
Right, I’m just asking him with his motor set up and all to see what he has
Can you beat the newer ones using these model

Can we still get that link for the body? ;)
can you introduce xray xb2, and then what different carpet and dirt
You said that the AE required "special" front wheel could you provide a part number for this wheel or did I miss this in the instructions
mike south I just meant that most guys use slim front wheel for carpet.

Are you going to be reviewing the tekno mt410?
Maby a review on the 3Racing cactus??? Great videos bro!
What do you think about the lrp flow x ?
Might be because they changed factories, I heard they went to a china one instead the old taiwan factory.
Nice driving, good review. I'm shocked that you chose white for the colour of the body.
AE and Xray which one you like it ?
How long is assembly time straight from box
Michael Stewart it took me 3 hours to build personally
The build took two days after school. Team associated customer service was great when we accidentally broke a part, they sent us a new one for free.
