I want to personally thank you from my heart Luke you have helped me more than you will ever know. I'm struggling with mandarin and you have pointed out so many things to me. I know it might be funny to you that a fifty something yr old person is tackling mandarin but I am. It's a goal that I'm going to reach or die trying. I don't any degrees not even a ged to my name. But those are just pieces of paper. I hope with a little help I can achieve this in my life. 😊

You touched a painful area : I knew about his excellent channel, but was unable to dedicate time for it, as I have seen as my moral duty, to dedicate all my time, for more than six years, to remove the National Disaster and Global Disaster actually (if he was givan the chance) A creature whose name is Netanyahu, Crime Minister of poor ISRAEL.
I was tempted to download the verb list, but thought one learns way more by typing it in myself. Thank you for this great video. After typing in all: 204 examples, 1339 characters, 392 different characters.
It's nice seeing this in context, 弄 has particularly alluded me. I'd love to see a video on argument structures of verbs, like which prepositions you use. I never know if you 对, 为, 给, 跟, 把 something, or if it its a normal object that should appear after a verb.
I really appreciate that you ranked then grouped the words. I always want vocab to be organized into small schema groups and people rarely do it for some reason.
Excellent, thanks! By the way here in Thailand Thais say their language has five tones; but I believe this is because they count the neutral tone as one of them whereas mandarin does not count the neutral tone so they say four tones. Actually, both are correct. Am I correct in this or just had too much Xmas punch?
Really excellent video. One thing I’m noticing here is that these Chinese sentences often string tons of verbs together. Sometimes up to 4 in a row, and more in total. Is this common? Quite interesting.
Yes, that's a pretty common thing. Chinese is very expressive, and sentences tend to be much longer in average length than in English, sometimes including dozens of clauses in one sentence.
Halou laoshi, I have a question about "ting" and "shuo", listen and speak (#3 and #4), and in this video these are the same characters. So, I've looked it up and I found 说 for shuo. The character shown in the video at around 2:20 is a 听, a ting, which actually means listen, according to my research. Got me a bit confused there, so is 说 the shuo you meant? 谢谢!
Yes - we've made mistakes sometimes in our content, and considering we might lose all the previous engagement if we fix it and re-upload, so we've chosen to leave some minor mistakes unfixed. Thanks for pointing that out though, it'll help other viewers clear up their confusion.
It's no longer restricted to Sichuan. Chinese parlance is constantly in flux, and different ways of Chinese speech have spread all over east Asia along with the extensive migration of Chinese of different dialects; they bring along their ways of speaking to different parts of China and other Chinese-speaking countries e.g. Singapore and Malaysia, and some of these get picked up and used in daily life over time by Chinese speakers there.
I just started going through the verbs. FYI -- There is an error on #4 shuo (1st tone). The character that is showing is for Ting (1st tone), to listen.

Not only that, there are some on here, that also went to school in China, and can vouche for his channel. What is more, they have lists on WeiBo and such foe the most popular words, etc... so there is not always a need to be in China to teach the language, just as there are many English teachers in China not in English speaking countries. Additionally, there are native speakers in and out of China that can vouche for him. Chill.

I wish I had known about this channel when I lived in China from 2001 to 2004 as expat. My language acquisition would have been so much easier
It didn’t exist yet in 2004 sooooo

"拍手” = 👏🏼
For emphasis, one can say "拍拍手”.
Kids usually do such in kindergarten class when cheering on classmates. 😊
Great video! Do you have a video about the Chinese character 了?
Yes, being edited now
This is so good.
你 好 老师。
It would be even more useful if you also show order of writing for each character.
Thanks for the suggestion. We'll consider it for future videos!

Could you please how can I join online classes and which website is providing online certificate
Hey there , Sure you can sign up here : www.mandarinblueprint.com/mb-pro/ . We also provide certificates of completion throughout the course
For computers, such as in, the software is downloading, "正在" is used: Windows正在下载了。
#4 shuo still has ting at the top
For "What are you doing?" , one can also say, "你在干什么". ”干“ is often used more in SiChuan, instead of "做" for such sentences.

does it make sense to rephrase it as 今天老师说没有作业. is this way ok?
yes, it sounds natural
你们要知道,人要是行,干一行行一行,一行行行行行,行行行干哪行都行;要是不行,干一行不行一行,一行不行行行不行,行行不行干哪行都不行。想要行行行,首先一行行,成为行业内的内行,行行成内行,行行行
man you dont speak mandarin you speak magic...
Can I consider myself as a person that knows HSK1 if I identify 80% of the verbs
Easily. If you can recognise the first 10 you’re cleared for HSK1, assuming all your other skills are equal.
HSK1 isn't just verbs, so, no.
