People sending questions seem to be under the impression that Tomisin is teaching how to play mind games. He really isn't. He's literally talking about developing SECURE attachment in a way ppl will understand. Attachament theory is very well known and established for decades. He's letting us all know NOBODY likes insecurely attached people (either anxious or avoidant). As a 'black cat' (securely attached person), you're neither clinging onto ppl or pushing them away. You're just there doing your thing. Whoever wants to join in and aggregate to your life might be welcome, whoever wants to bring in yucky energy is dismissed.
The moment your love interest sees that you depend on them to breathe, to live, to be okay, is the moment they'll run fast to the opposite direction. Clinging onto people may have worked when you were a teen/young adult bc that's when ppl are typically having their first contact with romance and generally have a lot more spare time outside of school to emotionally invest in someone. But when you're a full-round adult, it feels extremely off putting to have someone desperately clinging onto you. We've all been there. We even know in our hearts that person doesn't even know us very well, they're just desperately trying to fill an emotional void within themselves.
And that's exactly how a guy might see you when you're performing a bunch of niceties to keep him around. The real you doesn't even exist anymore at that point, how is anyone going to connect with a person that doesn't exist? On the other hand, when someone sees you have a lot of things going on for yourself (solid family and friend ties, cool hobbies, and youre not horribly dependent on external validation, from him and/or social media), that's the moment he will be curious about that interesting life you've created for yourself and will desire to ADD to it. Relationships shouldn't be codependent, they should be about enriching an already rich life. And if it doesn't work out, oh well, you may suffer for a bit, but life will go on swiftly cause you have enough on your plate to concern yourself with.
