It looked like something you do when you want to hide the holes that have been punched in the walls after guests see how crappy that room is. Did you look for secret naughty cams?

For my first trip to Korea 6 years ago, I accidentally booked a love motel in Busan for a few nights, I had no idea I just thought it would be convenient to stay by the bus station 😂😂😂 Even though you said yours was shitty, ours was wayyyyyy worse haha. It was crazy cheap but lesson learned! Enjoyed your video, you guys are funny to watch! Stay safe.

That's a pretty big space for a love motel. But I am not above to using a love motel as a cheap alternative for accommodations, because hotels can be pretty expensive if you will be out most of the time exploring. However it will also depend on the love motel's quality, like if the basic facilities/features work properly (working shower/toilet), and the cleanliness of the place. You guys looked like you had a great time. I miss going out. I miss my friends. (5th week into Quarantine can get that to you.)

I'm not Korean, so I can't confirm this, but I heard the spy cams are mostly targeted against women? Unless those guys pose a national security threat (which would be highly unlikely), I doubt the spy cams will be a problem for them. I think the concerns about staying in a love motel range from its association with prostitution and shady sex to its low quality lodging and hygiene practices.
