I also changed out the final drive oil which looked like the goo that comes out of something on Dr.Pimple Popper… next I’m going to do the transmission oil…
For those without a compressor, I found the easiest and arguably most efficient way to clean the filter. Use your vacuum with the brush attachment and just gently brush over the foam as the vacuum is on. You clean it very well, very fast, no drying time needed, and everyone has a vacuum already.
I used some green stuff cleaner and washed the filter, then let it dry and replace. After washing it looked like new, good to go. Thanks for the great vids on scooters!
Separating the upper and lower halves of the CVT filter cover makes getting out the top right cover bolt much easier. A flexible socket extension is also necessary.
Actually you can get to the top right bolt by lifting up on the top plate cover. It does move out the way just enough to access the bolt with a straight extension.

Always surprised at his thin the filters are, much thinner than motorcycles I have experience with. And unlike motorcycles it is a lot more work to get to them. Given the effort Suzuki should have either made access easier or made a better filter. Curious to see how a B650 compares with a Honda Silverwing 600 in ease of maintenance and if serious issues arise more or less frequently.
Also 1. Keep Water away from the exhaust of the cvt inbetween your legs. 2. Check the Stop Bolt of the cvt regulary for damages 3. if it happens it happens.
