You better believe it matters. If you can last more than 30 seconds in a street fight the edge goes to you 90 percent of the time. Your opponent simply runs out of gas.
Awesome video I am a retired law enforcement officer corrections employee trained martial arts 61 years this is the best video I have seen in years I competed in full contact 🥋 karate thanks for sharing I still train in my home gym dojo fitness matters strength matters Little Rock Arkansas
Fitness is like having a weapon. it's there just in case you need it. This society has people thinking that fitness is just for gym bros and clearly doesn't understand that it matters
Fitness does matter, not just in martial arts, but in life. I have been crossfit for the last year. On my first day, I almost passed out. Now, my strength and stamina has nearly tripled since day 1.
Thank you Professor for your knowledge and teaching. I preached what your saying for years. I studied martial arts for over 25 years. In that time I have incorporated boxing and Thai Boxing into my own personal self defense. Initially I believed Bjj was the ultimate martial art. Then through self realization I learned thats its useful to learn striking styles also. I stay in the gym with strength and conditioning with training of course. Thank you for putting real information out.
How true and so important. It goes beyond just self-defense. So please let your friends know about it and share this superb and highly motivational channel. Txs
Yesssssur sensei we must keep our wind up and muscle up l Live in Chicago and recently two correctional officers got knocked fuck out by a inmate all l could say is Gahdam !!!!! It on you tube cook county jail to all officers and regular survivers to beware is be alive peace peace!!!!
The strong man got a lucky hit. Didn't appear to have anything to do with the Gracie guy's level of fitness. If anything, his boxing defense was lacking. The cop just had poor situational awareness. You could have used better examples.
Exactly there are also many examples where BJJ was successfully used in street fight situations. Anyways the time to criticize BJJ was during the early UFC fights. Now it's a bit too late lol. Anyways no disrespect to professor Vee J of course but BJJ just like most other fighting arts can be effective if used properly
“You’re dealing with criminals. All they do is workout.”
Brilliant comment, coach.
Mainly the ones locked up, and it's only certain one.
Fresh out of Prison, Buffed up and on Drugs.
Have fun.
Outstanding Life Saving Self Protection Techniques
Honestly, to me the best real talk video on the net. A black belt doesn't mean a damn thing on the streets..
There’s the kick in the ass I needed, thank you friend 🙏
If you do not have cardio you are already 95% failing yourself.
Not "cardio" loaded cardio, and skill set.

Everyone got to work out at least a little
Depends.

If you are FIT and have the SPIRIT of “never QUIT” ‘til you end the altercation on your own terms, you’re LEGIT, yo!!!👍🏾
YES! The Holy Trinity.

"Fitness is like having a weapon"?
Man that guard couldn’t even move to defend himself at all.
What's YOUR point?
So true. I saw guys when I was in the army could not do one pull up or push ups.
Professor you are absolutely correct yes skills and techniques are important but if your gas tank runs empty to quick, you may be in a world of trouble

Even if you are injured being in shape helps you survive too! Excellent video
This is the truth. Looks can be deceiving. Salute Prof.
Locks? Are you a sevillian?
Just discovered this channel and I love it. You remind me of a street-wise friend my Dad would have made in the Army.
