When someone pulls a knife out it changes the game. We get focus on the knife instead of the person.
If you see a knife your first thought should be run if you can get away, these youths are stabbing not slashing and are causing a massive ripple effect for so many people it's crazy, the friction, the beefs, the family and friends and the lifelong pain caused is lunacy. Knives Destroy Lives.

Great content once again gentlemen. You constantly stress "master your emotions" which is totally true. But could you two please do a video on the psychological aspects of the "fear involved" upon facing a "real assailant with real bad intent" , as opposed to a controlled environment in a dojo. Because overcoming that "freeze moment" (mastering your fear) , or reality of facing a steal edged weapon or any weapon is needed in order to implement any technique, and hopefully get home alive.
What do you guys do to overcome sudden fight or freeze syndrome? Much love and appreciation for all your wisdom shared. Ous.

Another great video and technique!! I have found the older I get, the less able I am at pulling off certain techniques, that while younger would have been no problem. Even Charlie Nelson adapted his stuff the older he got!! Besides as he would say a move only has to work one time.

Yes the person will have trouble blocking the top strike.
Yes the person might not see it coming.
But The target slash in just inches away from the carotid arteries.
Which is probably the most lethal attack possible.
Like even in your own demo 6:35 = kill shot
People don't stay stationary and in a real life scenario,
Someone could easily react by pulling their head back over exposing their neck.
This is way too close too a lethal strike. only use it if you have lethal intent.

Sound advice; of course you yourself are perfectly capable of stunning your assailant by the pitch of your voice.
Yeah, several moves are impossible to block but the main violation i still see is distance. Once you cross the line the move is already in motion. I'm not waiting for all the rest of the noise.
How about blocking with one arm while simultaneously palm strike to the face in one motion.

All i can say is i have had knives ulled on me several times and you should never try and block the weapon you ignore the weapon & you block the arm
I have beaten every knife attack cuz i ignore the knife and block arm and do serious damage never trying to disarm him just alowing the knife to be kept can be your advantage its all in keeping the person to your outside and blocking the arm at the shoulder

I am surprised you are teaching that to the public you are too generous this is an advanced technology taught by Professor Vee Florendo. Visitacion [1910-1999] as were similar principles taught by Grand Tuhon Baltazar “Bo” Sayoc [1934-2007] Sayoc Kali because they all shared and trained together. I know because, I trained under the late Tuhon Chris Sayoc Jr. and taught the Sayoc Kali system. Tuhon Chris would share stories about how the old-timers would train, and Sayoc has an entire system devoted to that type of movement.
You teach good but when it comes to knife, study kali. Because there are lots of moves I can use if you were the attacker.

And as soon as I cut a piece of chicken ..do this … cut a small piece …chewing fast!!! Practice that slice and chew … you only get one piece of chicken so that one move is your way out !!! Are you listening ???! …Move over here.. no you .. mmm….are you listening !!!?? Now… when you’re young … you’re able to chew some gum before you cut a piece of chicken!!! At our age .. it takes time to take that gum out…are you listening!!!?

this tip isnt so useful for self defense in my uninformed opinion. Why? this is a move you can use if you are approaching someone else while yourself holding a knife. So what? I dont carry a knife for self defense. Most people do not. If I did, I can just bring the knife out and showing it , that alone may deter the attacker. But Im not going to go at someone , myself holding a knife as self defense. ... so i like the move, but i couldnt use this UNLESS I happen to be carrying a knife when someone attacks me, and that person is not deterred even after seeing that I have a knife.
