These 3 are essential natural medicine for our body and eliminates many diseases that lot of people can’t get cured with medicines made of chemicals.

Same thing here! It's already a year and a few months now for me that I realized what sugar AND dairy do to my body, so it's a constant battle with what I crave and what I can eat to look and feel good. And on top of that most of my family members don't believe or don't want to understand that, so they are constantly criticizing my "diet" but I just try to shrug it off and keep going.

    • @mswamp_1826

@@ilikerainydays1500 The cravings are soo bad. Once you are a few weeks sugar and dairy free its not that bad but its hard to get there. Sometimes i remember what things used to taste like eg. oreos but if i try them its disgustingly sweet because my tastebuds have changed. But the good thing is that if i feel depressed afterwards i at least know that im not ugly or dumb or that nobody loves me but that my hormones are messed up.

This is great and so true! I'm hypoglycaemic so I've always been very reactive to sugar and have always had to add fat or fibre to my carbs in order to avoid a crash, including fruit, and it really makes such a difference. I also find that the worst time to eat anything with sugar is the morning, because your stomach is empty.

  • @deniseg4028
    @deniseg4028 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Great information Sadia. As someone who was once diagnosed as diabetic - and reversed it quite quickly by completely cutting out that cola everyone knows - I can confirm that after a short initial withdrawal period you no longer crave sugar, and yes your taste buds do adjust really quickly when excess sugar is out of your life. The way you detect sugar is completely recalibrated. For example, bread now tasted sweet and I could taste the natural sugar in milk back when I was drinking it. And thank you for talking about how the body processes all added sugars the same - the 'health food' industry makes me crazy in how they try to trick people with wording like 'naturally sweetened with agave syrup' for example. Some 'natural sugars' actually have more sugar than refined does, per gram. So yes, educating yourself can make a massive difference in your health.

I really really appreciate your take of not demonizing foods, and instead talking about topics like sugar with an open mind. I live in the States, so finding affordable foods that don't have sugar sneaked in is nearly impossible. And common dietitians in the US are very quick to put down sugar, and those who eat it, when a lot of people don't have much of a choice especially if they are food or financially insecure. I usually don't follow content by those who create videos/articles on certain foods or nutrients because of that, but I'm very glad to have found this channel and your website because I can learn about the foods I eat in a much more positive light. Additionally, I appreciate that you provide affordable recipes and alternatives with the awareness that some things may or may not be available to everyone. I didn't plan on typing something this long, but thank you!

Eating too much added sugar can have many negative health effects.
An excess of sweetened foods and beverages can lead to weight gain, blood sugar problems and an increased risk of heart disease, among other dangerous conditions. For these reasons, added sugar should be kept to a minimum whenever possible, which is easy when you follow a healthy diet based on whole foods.

Number 10: Time - It really is true. I used to crave sweet snacks a lot, but since I decreased my sugar intake and switched to mostly natural, unprocessed sugar sources, I slowly stopped wanting sugary snacks at all. I usually could just go for an apple. Last weekend, when I accepted a glass of cola from my mother-in-law, the taste of it made me sick. When you give your body what it needs an time to adjust, a healthy diet will become second nature.

"Often and less often" is such a great and non-pressure way to put it. That is also the way I see it. I actually learned that lesson about 15 years ago from my gold hamster who would happily chew up a piece of chocolate (it was diagnosed with cancer and wasn't supposed to live much longer) and after that would crunch a walnut or indulge in a piece of apple without refusing the "good but boring" food after the "bad but yummy" chocolate. I was deeply impressed then and thought my pet has really taught me a lesson. And now you, Sadia, put it into a real fact based perspective. Thank you.
I would like to add that when my almost six year old daughter prepares teatime for us she places sliced up fruit (banana, apple, pear and orange) along with little pieces of chocolate and nuts in the same big Teezeit (we are Frisians) plate. It's all there to be eaten, cherished and enjoyed. :-)
Thank you so much again, Sadia, for the question of "Does this nurture me?" Best advice for me in the last couple of years! :-D

Hi!!! My experience with sugar is that all starts from the morning routine and the coffee preference! If you have a low sugar breakfast then you can keep sugar levels lower the rest of the day! Also if you end up drinking your coffee without sugar you can start feeling kind of sugar free- when a sweet coffee is too much for you.

Thank you for breaking it down with the details
It took me a while to figure out where to begin on my healthy lifestyle change with nutrition.
I stopped consuming sugar for one day and was amazed at how much sugar were in foods I didn’t realize. Once I conquered that area I seen my weight begin to melt off. Then my next steps were carbs and last dairy. I have slowly introduced food groups back into my diet which gave me insight on how my body reacted to the nutrition I consumed.
First step is no sugar for a day.
Thanks again for sharing such valuable information

I’m a 19 year old guy and I just had a huge surgery done on my upper body which restrained me from working out for 1,5 month. I’m currently working on figuring out my diet and getting back into training. But I want to do it ‘the healthy way’. The fact that there are SO MANY different diets out there stresses me out. Your videos make me feel relaxed and positive about my body and my accomplishments 😌 ty!

Artificial sweeteners give me massive migraines. That’s enough for me to never ever eat those chemicals. My body knows what to do with natural sugar, and everything healthy in moderation is the key

Oh Sadia, I so appreciate you sharing the bloopers at the end! I am a new TH-camr and I find it so hard to talk sometimes. There are some people who can do an entire 30 minute video of them just talking without any cuts and I just don't know how they do it! It eases my mind knowing that you have to edit a lot too!🌺😃

Watching this video has made me realise how much I've reduced my sugar intake in the past two years! I used to eat/drink a lot of sugar, and I started to gradually make healthier choices. At first I still had a lot of sugar cravings, but they started to go away.
I wish I had seen this video back then, it summarises really well what I slowly learned on my own.

Hi Sadia - I've been veggie all my adult life, and I stopped eating/drinking dairy at Xmas. Now I eat much less chocolate, cake, biscuits etc as they often have milk or butter in them, plus I have to be gluten free anyway, so getting gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free is quite hard! - since I started this, I have consumed so much less sugar. I allowed myself a piece of cake (gf, but not df) the other day and was amazed at how awfully sweet it was, and how little I liked it! I'm liking this new way of eating :)

You are amazing. Thank you for this well-organized summary of sugars and why they aren't all evil. Your unbiased approach is definitely refreshing (not just for this subject!), and I'll be sharing this with a few of my friends. I am alarmed by the extremes people go to with their diets nowadays!
