    They can hatch peacock and guinea eggs too. The hen mothers can make those chicks a little less skittish. The main problem I had with hatching other poultry or pea fowl under hens was the babies had some identity confusion. One male peacock was certain that female ducks were the most beautiful girls on the farm. He continually tried to mate duck hens and guinea hens. It wasn't just him. Others were confused too. I hatched them under the hens together and brooded them together. Maybe if I'd separated them after hatching it would have been different.
    I finally found my first English Budgie. He is a light green opaline spangle. He's very pretty. I'll try to do a video when he gets settled and finishes his molt.

    Please my turkey laid her eggs and incubated them.but at the 28th day the poults pecked at the eggs but could not come out. They all ended up dead in their shell.
    Please what is the solution to this

    So is it normal for hens to peck at their chicks like that? I have a broody hen who has been sitting on what I thought was fertile eggs, but turned out unviable. So I went out and bought day old baby chicks for her and set them under her. She clicked like that too and pecked at them a little like that. Do you think it’s normal behavior? Do you think she will kill them?

    I have a silkie cross hen sitting on black rosecomb eggs. I don’t know why I waited so long to use a broody hen to hatch eggs. Great video, thanks for the info.

      Plus by using a brewy hen you’ll be putting antibodies into the egg which makes the chick 🐥 healthier. Good luck

      @@charliesweb1k and it’s not a problem if the power goes out. I’m planning on hatching some melanistic pheasant eggs. So I can release some around my farm. I’ll have some unique looking birds in my yard if I just release the extra roosters. Then wild turkeys or quail lol

    Would you sell poults and ship?

    • @charliesweb1k
      @charliesweb1k  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      nicholas Haynes I only sell the eggs since I don’t ship chicks .
      I do ship juveniles and adults but mostly call ducks or Seramas.
      Sometimes silkies but no large breed animals. The boxes are expensive and then comes the shipping costs ,express mail.
      I normally ship in the fall and spring. Thank you

    The hen is pecking poults which is very unsafe as she found out the poults are peculiar & skeptical in sound & structure. Dangerous for poults, lucky she didn't kill em, don't do this again!

      Jessi Baet You’re commenting something that you’ve experienced but not me. Not sure if you’ve watched my videos but this hen is 10 years old and she’s been doing it for years. She’s a fantastic mother so I will continue to do it until she is no longer alive. Thanks for your concerns but please be careful about your comments because it can start a terrible thread on here for others to jump onto. Have a great Sunday.
