    A 2011 BMW 3-Series front bumper cover replacement can be a bit more work than some vehicles. If you purchase a bumper from anywhere, it will not come with any accessories. We always recommend that you reuse anything from your original bumper. It will save you money and time. Just like any other vehicle, you'll need to remove the bolts and plastic push-pins from under the hood, under the car, and from the wheel-wells. We'll have a more detailed description below. This DIY job is easy-peasy.
    TOOLS NEEDED:
    A torques bit-T30, a socket wrench with an 8mm socket long & short, a flat-head screwdriver or a panel clip remover/pliers, a drill, and double-sided tape (preferably 3M).
    REMOVAL:
    As you can see we raised the car up because BMWs are generally pretty low. We started with the top of the bumper or near the grille. You may want to do this last, in the event you take off the last screw the bumper just falls off. It probably won't but, anything can happen. This is where the torque bits come in handy. Followed by using the 8mm socket on the bottom of the bumper, then on the wheel wells. This goes without saying, but do not lose any bolts or get them mixed up with others.
    To remove the front bumper cover, pull the ends gently. There are typically brackets holding the bumper on the two ends and underneath the headlights. Be sure to disconnect the fog lights before you let the bumper drop. The last thing you want to do is to replace the wiring harness.
    BUMPER ACCESSORIES:
    We began with the weather stripping on the top of the bumper. These two pieces easily slide off. Your bumper will have metal brackets for that bolts go into, you can remove these with your flat-head screwdriver or panel clip pliers. You do have to drill the holes on the aftermarket bumper, if your bumper has pre-drilled holes, that's best. Remove the fog lights with the 8mm socket. Also, remove the small grille cover by pushing the tabs down and snapping it out. To install the grille, simply push it down onto the new bumper. Removing the lower grille is similar to the small ones next to the fog lights. Be sure to firmly press it to secure when installing it, you should hear it snap on. The top grilles are no different, except the push out or away from the bumper. Unlike the other grilles, the top grilles have to be installed from the outside of the bumper pushed in.
    INSTALL:
    This is the easy part. You've already done the hard part of removing the bumper. Just work your way backward to install the bumper. Remember the front bumper snaps on underneath the headlights and at the fenders. Secure the bumper by hand tighten the top bolts so it doesn't fall down. Don't forget about plugging in your fog lights, it's much easier when the bumper is not secured. This BMW had a metal bracket that was stuck to the fender don't forget to properly install that. Put the same bolts back into the wheel's well side. You've got a few steps left. Insert and secure the bottom screws/bolts. Lastly, tighten the bolts under the hood or on the top of the bumper. Make sure the hood aligns correctly with the bumper. And, that's it, you've replaced your BMW front bumper cover.

      So for that you need to supply the VIN number to dealership to get correct one. There is a few different options. Go to www.ReveMoto.com chat or fill out the parts request we will find it for you. We will also paint it so you don’t have an unpainted one

    What does the interchangeability between front bumpers look like based off year? I have a 2011 328ix but I know it can fit parts from other models/years. Can’t seem to find a handbook on what those parts are though. 😬

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Ashe! Please message us and we can try and help you out. Just mention you are from TH-cam. Basically, if the fenders and hood are the same style/fit, then you can swap the bumpers out. Usually, folks will get the M-style bumper. I hope this helps and please subscribe, it helps us a ton! 🤘

    Dude,your previous bumper doesn,t have a washing sistem for the headlights like a neweone?

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. This particular customer purchased the bumper online and chose the wrong bumper. He didn't have headlight washers. He opted to just get the covers on instead of getting a new bumper without headlight washers.

    Hi, the piece that holds the fog light do you carry that in stock?

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Laquita! There are two pieces, the bracket and the fog light itself. Unfortunately, we do not stock either. Please chat with us at www.revemoto.com and we can get you a fog light with the housing (one piece). The bracket (the piece the fog light screws into) seems to be part of the bumper and we do not have that. BMW may have the bracket but it looks to be part of, or glued to the bumper. Thank yo for watching!

      The BMW bumpers come with quite a few different options. If you can grab the part number, we can definitely send you the link to the one that's right for your car. Sorry couldn't be of more help!

    • @ReveMoto

      Yes, they can if the shape and plug are the same. There are a lot of different options to choose from. Just make sure the lights are compatible with you particular 3-Series. Thanks for watching!

    Will a 2009 bumper for 328xi fit on the same model but 2011?

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I believe it would. BUT, DO NOT TAKE MY WORD for it. Double check with the BMW forums and do you research. The adjacent parts look to be the same. You want to definitely see if the fenders and headlights are the same shape. Folks convert to the M-style bumper all the time with us. Double check and good luck!

    • @ReveMoto
      @ReveMoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Try adjusting the hood bolts and moving the hood back. You may want to also check the bumper and be sure it's properly installed. Sometimes the rebar or headlights will stop it from sitting 100% snug. Please subscribe, it helps us a ton! 😃

    • @ReveMoto

      You can do it! It just a several bolts and some clips. The headlights are the same plus the wire harness. The rear bumper follows the same concept, except there may be a few bolts when you lift trunk. Good luck and thank you for watching!
