Reminds me of how much i didn't like myself and how alone I felt. I still adore SZA, so glad she made this song. I can reflect on how far i've come as a person since last year. Thank you Solana.
@Cherie Hi friend! Well, tbh what help me stop smoking was how sick I got with myself. Instead of internalizing it and accepting as who I was. I decided that my progress was more important than getting high. I would smoke to ease my anxiety but that always meant smoking too much and getting paranoid. I operate better with a clear mind, and since im a workaholic, I knew that would be a huge driving force for me. Basically... imagine one of the biggest driving forces in your life and slowly quit it for them or it. I hope this finds you in a happy mental state. I know its hard with the corona virus, but we're going to be okay.
I'm so tired of people talking about "I miss old SZA" she is going to change, she's a human being. Expect progressiveness, she isnt gonna sound or be th he same forever.
I love the rawness in this video. The dirty socks, clothes, fucked up iphone and the symbolism of suicide. The little details that make the whole embodiment of the video and song seem so real, like i believe everything she's saying. Very relatable.
When we see different expressions of ourselves, we modify our understanding of ourselves and create new concepts within our minds. To me, her music is as important as Outkast, Sade, Janelle Monae, Watch the duck, FKA twigs, In that it offers new/refreshing expressions of human nature/music. It's honest, raw, & real. I think it makes a great stride in breaking down barriers/stereotypes about (black) people & helps people rediscover themselves. And this song is dope as hell.
This is a great video. SZA herself said that this song was about rejection from her parents. So she lays objects from her life on the cardigan on the ground, calmly, systematically. (Notice how the iPhone has been smashed, from rage maybe?) The ring shows her letting go from her relationships or even giving up on the idea of love entirely. For almost the whole video she is faceless - this is how repeated bullying especially from parents makes you feel - it shrinks you and makes you anonymous. While she walks to her suicide in the lake, she looks back (the first time we see her face) is it a look of second thoughts? The suicide note at the end of the video reads "gone fishin'
Wow. Just got fucked up in my thoughts imagining if that was the world we lived in. If this level of music was the popular, the norm, the record selling stadium shit.

Or they slit their wrists and lay it in water (a tub filled). In her case, she willingly drowned herself and didn't use any other means to make her back out at the last moment. She died by suffocation of self drowning and lack of air. She held her self down underwater without any physical restraint but with only her will power or lack of there of. Many others would have re-emerged because they couldn't help but to fight against suffocation. She purified herself and peacefully crucified herself. She passed in a clean and pure way. Niyalaful Technically in a way. She didn't commit suicide. Purification. Death to and by purification. She freed herself from the restraints of today's society and the sins of those before her.
Cherbs turner Your point is sort of ironic. If you pass out in the sea, you'd drown due to not being aware enough to stay afloat. And I understand when you say its just a song.... but many songs are known for messages, and the most iconic can cause controversy and influence history. And even if it's "just a song" or "just" a video, if people want to have a meaningful conversation of what they believe it depicts, then let them. After all.... its "just a song" isn't it?

incase yall didn't know, it's not impossible to compliment SZA without bringing down another female artist:)) just because you like her more than main stream artist doesn't mean you are better/or have better music taste. lol get off ya high horse sis, just enjoy the music 👌🏾
Been rocking with SZA ever since this song 🔥. And even I was late on her back then. But these new people just catching on to her music are hella late. 😂😂😭 She's been cold asf.
What? You think artists don’t evolve and grow. This was her lazy and not taking her craft seriously. If you were really a fan you would’ve caught all her interviews where she talked about it. Not showing up to record. Being high all the time. Not practicing. Only doing music when she felt like it. She’s amazing and I love this version of her, but it was half assed. It was a moment in her life before she gone herself and was rebelling against everybody. She didn’t even know who she was. As teens, 20s, and 30s you’re a completely different person.
Babylon is a depressing song once you read the lyrics. I saw a video where she explained that it's about a time when her parents paid for her to go to college, but she didn't want to; she dropped out and her patents were disappointed in her and this song is basically her response. To be honest, I think she's going through a tough time with depression because her videos, lyrics, and the way she answers interview questions (vaguely, stops midway, etc.) showcases how lonely she is. I hope I'm wrong and SZA is sincerely happy. Even the richest and most successful people can go into severe depression.
This was the first song I heard from her a couple years ago and I've been mesmerized with it to this day. She deserves the airplay. Such a beautiful voice. I'm glad the world.gets to hear it even more!!
daaaamn, while everyone is jumping all over Yonce's new shit, they all sleeping on beautiful more original and authentic artists like SZA, the internet and ABRA. Love
It's a shame that this video doesn't have over a million views her voice is just absolutely amazing but if she keeps going like this I'm pretty sure she'll have more of a bigger fan base by the end of this year or next year but shit who knows only time will tell
I listened to this song when it came out and I’m glad it got so much recognition later on and even continues to this day. When I first heard I played it to my boyfriend at the time and I said you better listen to this because she’s gonna be BIG one day. I said the same about kali uchis when she first came out.
I can't stop listening and watching this beautiful woman. I really hope that she stays true to herself by not wearing weave's and twerking. Give a positive image to young and older black women; to show that you are beautiful without having to shake your ass, wearing provocative clothing, and be proud to wear the hair that God has given you. She reminds me of like a Sade, Enya, and Erykah Badu. There's so many artist's who sound and perform the same but when you hear artist's like this, it's 1 out of a million.
terence79ulrikson Yeah... I said Sade and Enya by how mysterious and unique they are as artists, same as SZA. I'm trying to get my iPod together; do you know any artist similar to SZA? I don't know any new artists because all I listen to is 80's and 90's music due to the shitty music-culture we have today.

this song helped me overcome my "thoughts" a few years ago. SZA still killing it!!!!
Fr 2020 was so dark for me, sza old music helped me so much then
I love SZA’s new album but the throwbacks will always be classic 😭
Missing these SZA vibes! This is back when I fell in love with her!
I LOVE 'CONSIDERATION' SO MUCH. YOU KILLED IT WITH RIH. COME THRUUUUUU #ANTi
Forreal. Am I the only one who heard some Portishead influences on that record?
same !!
+Erin 93 same i loved it! !
Eu amo consideration
dont mess with the rogue Thats right, I totally forgot she was featured in it, wow and that was like one of my fav songs on that album
This legit almost made me cry the cinematography is so good
incase yall didn't know, it's not impossible to compliment SZA without bringing down another female artist:)) just because you like her more than main stream artist doesn't mean you are better/or have better music taste. lol get off ya high horse sis, just enjoy the music 👌🏾
aspirin 01 yesss! 🙌
aspirin 01 she's mainstream now and sounds completely different... I miss this sza
😂 someone is upset asf
But I like the old Sea back too
aspirin 01 so people arent allowed to compare and say sza is better than someone else? Hm.
i miss this old sza and i miss when she wasn't so much known.
oh man fame is so bad for her omg noooo
@@xazlabu stfu i mean it in a way that ppl overplay her music and don't appreciate her as a person enough dumbasss gtfo with the sarcasm
Been rocking with SZA ever since this song 🔥. And even I was late on her back then. But these new people just catching on to her music are hella late. 😂😂😭 She's been cold asf.
Jaya Vibe EXACTLY
Probably the only song I know that is actually better without Kendrick Lamar
Been rocking with her from her first album “see sza run” her music is amazing and she’s beautiful
Same this and teen spirit made me fall in love with her music
Byron C FUCKING FACTSSSS
I NEED THIS VERSION ON SPOTIFY TOO!!! MAKE KENDRICKS AN EXTRA!!!
I liked this era of SZA before people were hype about her, i feel this was always her true sound. This new era SZA i can't get with it.
RAP MONSTER ❤
"Was it worth it? Would you do it again?"
Me every time I eat fast food and break my diet
maybe.
The SZA I fell in love witj
This was the first song I heard from her a couple years ago and I've been mesmerized with it to this day. She deserves the airplay. Such a beautiful voice. I'm glad the world.gets to hear it even more!!
The very first SZA song I’ve ever heard … wow 🥺 time flies .
Not suicide, but crucifixion or self sacrifice for OUR GREATER GOOD. Wake TF UP, we're not children anymore. It's real out here. One love🥀♥️
Call it what you want this is suicide
Rodney Warner it is suicide 🗿🗿
Crucifixion crack rock love feeding my addiction pessimistic

She is selling her soul
RIP Mac Miller 😭🙏🏼 thank you for producing this track 5 years later I’m still addicted to it 💔😥
growing up abused with no dad and no real guidence, i felt when sza said " i cant recall the last time i took advice from anyone"
I'm just discovering SZA and this is simply beautiful...i think im in love
Esatu uu listen to ABRA,
This comment was a year ago but I would like to say the same thing
daaaamn, while everyone is jumping all over Yonce's new shit, they all sleeping on beautiful more original and authentic artists like SZA, the internet and ABRA.
Love
the internet are so good wallah
let them sleep,more for us
yessss omg Abra is so good!
hell yea!
And Sinead Harnett, FKA twigs
It's a shame that this video doesn't have over a million views her voice is just absolutely amazing but if she keeps going like this I'm pretty sure she'll have more of a bigger fan base by the end of this year or next year but shit who knows only time will tell
Well guess what!!
I listened to this song when it came out and I’m glad it got so much recognition later on and even continues to this day. When I first heard I played it to my boyfriend at the time and I said you better listen to this because she’s gonna be BIG one day. I said the same about kali uchis when she first came out.
She needs to go back to this that’s enough mainstream for sza 😭😭😭
Bro... SZA is so deep man I hope she really blows up
forreal. the world needs the thought provoking music that Sza puts out
labels aren't gonna let her sing about shit like this. Fuq being famous.
There's so many artist's who sound and perform the same but when you hear artist's like this, it's 1 out of a million.
erikah badu definitely! :)
terence79ulrikson Yeah... I said Sade and Enya by how mysterious and unique they are as artists, same as SZA. I'm trying to get my iPod together; do you know any artist similar to SZA? I don't know any new artists because all I listen to is 80's and 90's music due to the shitty music-culture we have today.
MickyMicky Mike Try FKA Twigs. A little "stranger" than SZA but so lovely :)
KerseyAntiques will do. Thanks :)
all yall in the comments who listened to this song in 2016, who wrote poetry and smoked and created and did ur shit to it, yall are the real ones and i respect u for it. i love yall
We will never see this SZA again, so dark and deep it’s very unique and was so ahead of it’s time. Glad for her success! 💯
Sza is so goregous and so is her music i love her style she makes that mesmorizing music to make love 2 get drunk and blunted 2 or just to sit and space out 2 her cd is gonna be epic cant wait until it drops 4/8/14 Babylon is my favorite song
dat voice, i can listen to her all day! love her!
Her voice has changed so much. Oh my god. This is such a good song 😭
Her voice is fucking gorgeous.
She's such a flower child, so beautiful and divine!
