    I always enjoy your DIY and repair videos. Seems like a lot of oil on the underside of the engine on the Mirage. Is the oil pan leaking, or is that dripping down from somewhere else? Thanks for sharing!👍🏻

      That is actually a cavity wax used for rust proofing. The entire undercarriage looks like that.

    Great video Johnny!
    Does that engine have a leak or is that just left over seepage from oil changes? I haven't seen these things leak engine oil before.

      The entire undercarriage is sprayed with cavity wax and it looks funny. Any wet spots were from penetrating oil.

    Hey Johnny hope all is well with you and the rest of the guys on GMF!! Great video, considering you're just videoing it on your phone. Reminds me of changing the clutch on my 94 Geo Metro. Very simple and straight forward. Great idea on spraying the rust preventative on the underbody! How is it holding up so far?

      No rust so far!

    My mechanic is recommending replacing the clutch but im worried it isnt the clutch. I can shift into any gear except 2nd. It will not go into second for anything. 15 mirage any advice would be great.

      Sounds like the 2nd gear brass synchro is worn out. Maybe try draining and refilling the manual transmission with Redline MTL 75W80 GL4 fluid (available on Amazon) and it might revive it some.

    Mate.. May reverse gear is somethimes hard to engage is that normal?

    • @JohnnyMullet
      @JohnnyMullet  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Sometimes I have to gradually let up on the clutch while trying to go in reverse.

      I am in NE Ohio in Ashtabula county. Labor would be $500 to do the job and do it correctly.

      @@JohnnyMulletI got the transmission out but I don't think it's the clutch. Fluid was FULL of metal and the gear shift linkage doesn't move it's like it's binding up. The original symptom was hard shifting like it wouldn't go into gear. I'm having a really hard time finding a replacement. Any suggestions?

    Thank you sir for this video I personally don’t own this vehicle but I appreciate you documenting the process. 👍🫡 watched all the way through. What’s the maintenance you had on the oil? 5k? Should probably do an engine flush with liquid moly engine flush might do it some good.
