    I have several Monstrums. I have ZERO complaints. Their warranty and customer service is second to none. I bought one from eBay and I got it broken. I contacted Monstrum and they said it actually wasn't covered under warranty but they would still honor it. I got two emails. One with a return label and one with a tracking number. I called them and told them there was a mistake. The lady said, "No. We're going to ship you a new updated model. Just make sure you send back the old one when you get a chance." They covered shipping, honored an outdated warranty, and sent me a new updated model, before I sent the broken one back. Can't beat that.

    I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope has done well.With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings.For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance.For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.

    Great budget scope lineup. The Primary Arms is sure the best bang for the $$. The distortion in the image at maximum magnification on these cheap scopes is called "chromatic aberration" (term also used in pro-photography lenses to define color distortion on the edges of the lens). Because of the imperfection of the glass in the scope if will refract diffrent colors at a diffrent angle, producing blue and purple contours around the objects. For most usage cases, even hunting its not a deal breaker at all.

      I personally like Warne Mountain Tech rings, they are well built and tough. You will need 34mm rings for the Helos and probably need medium or high rings to make sure the objective lens has clearance.

    Save a LITTLE extra and get the Athlon Midas Tac on sale. It is HANDS DOWN THE MOST UNDERRATED OPTIC ON THE MARKET TODAY!!! I challenge you to find ANYONE who owns that scope and says anything bad about it. Warranty is perfect (dropped mine, it was replaced) Athlon Argos is garbage but everything else above that (Midas Tac, Eres (which is a Midas Tac with illuminated reticle) and Cronus are just amazing!!
    Please trust me, I am not sponsored....the Athlon Midas is CRIMINALLYYYYYYYYYY underrated!!!

    • @yellowhammeroutdoors5516

      I am thoroughly impressed with Athlon scopes, to be honest. This video was focusing on the low end line of scopes for budget minded buyers. My next scope video is going to be examining higher end and better built scopes. I am planning on including the Athlon Cronus, Nightforce NX-8, and Arken EP5… I’ll probably include the Vortex Razor HD but still debating as I really think the Cronus outperforms the Razor from personal experience. The scope I have been the most impressed with is Arken, however. For the money, it is packed with features and the lens clarity and tracking is amazing.

    I’m running that Primary Arms SLX Arc2 MOA on my rifle, muzzleloader, and rimfire. I got them for $200/each. I haven’t tested the illumination issue, but good to know. I like having an FFP that tracks well. I had the cheaper diamondback tactical SFP and it just straight up didn’t track. Nothing more frustrating than getting a load dialed in to 0.5in and spend a dozen shots not being able to get it anywhere near zeroed. I tried a cheaper monstrum and those idiots printed the turret backwards. The illumination broke with very minimal use and I sent that POS back.

    • @yellowhammeroutdoors5516

      The Helos is an excellent choice, it comes with all the features I look for: FFP, locking turrets, illuminated reticle, etched glass reticle, etc. The glass is very clear and the magnification is great on the 6-24x. I like the objective being 56mm vs 50mm because it gives you additional viewing capabilities. Only downside to it is having to use high rings but this can be accommodated for.

      I never got my hands on the 1st Gen but the 2nd Gen is a good introductory scope at the price point it is offered. Having dealt with several budget scopes at this point, however, I would now recommend the Arken line of scopes. They come with zero stop and have superior glass, especially if you go with the EP5 vs. The SH series. Stay tuned for a follow up video.

    • @yellowhammeroutdoors5516
      @yellowhammeroutdoors5516  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re looking specifically at the GLx line, the 1-6x24 with the ACSS Raptor-M6 Reticle is excellent. I prefer a LPVO on an M4 style AR, 6x is plenty to get out to 600 yards with and land shots on target. However, if you prefer a little more magnification, the 2.5-10x44 is also a great option. You do lose the ability to shoot both eyes open at close range, though.
