    The plant / flower at 0.36 is very beautiful. I would like to smell it even once.
    The kitchen items you buy are very useful for long journeys. I could never have imagined such inventions could happen. I think Iwilll exceed my imagination.
    I thought you were following car in front of you between 3.57 and 4.10.
    Driving through mountains / canyons is great. I experienced it once and I was amazed and delighted at each height before me. I remembered my memory while watching this. When you were shooting 5.12 with a drone, I said wow!!!What a beautiful sight. I live on ground, so it is impossible for me to see all of them together. For this, I would like to live in air. To be able to see most of the earth, but of course it is not possible. I get on the plane and I dont see any change other than brown. How nice to see your planet from the air.
    Your look at the red car in the 10th minute. I noticed, haha.
    Between 10.20 and 10.58 minutes I was almost enchanted. From there I wrapped it around and watched it over and over again. Words are really missing to say it is great.

    I'm planning a road trip to Sedona this Fall so was very happy to see this video come up. It is a lovely, seamless production with such a great variety of techniques and honesty in your plan and approach. I also concur with your comments on the philosophy of post processing. It's such a multi-faceted visual art isn't it. I like the translation of what the lens and I see to be natural and memorable and at the same time creative and artistic while embracing today's tools, but stopping short of being deceptive, especially if marketing is involved!

    Oh my goodness...that area is GORGEOUS 😍 I really miss Canyons (I used to live in Colorado, now I'm in Scotland, which is also amazing but different). Also YAY for the drone! I'm obsessed with my Mavic Mini. I sometimes just go for walks and fly around to see the land in a new way (come on, who doesn't love flying dreams). Not sure if it's a thing where you live, but there's an app called UAV Forecast that is really helpful for drone flyers, it tells the temp/wind speed at different elevations, weather, satellite locks, etc. It's free but there's a paid version for more features. Anyways, so excited for your new sky adventures 😀

    I really enjoy how you are capturing the capturing. I tend to get so drawn into your search for the best shots that I sometimes lose track of the fact that you are not only a photographer, but you're putting a lot of thoughts into the making of these films as well. Even when photography seems to be closer to your heart, film is the medium through which you are telling us your stories. It makes me wonder how you relate to both of these forms of expression. (You don't need to answer it, I guess that in a way, your films are one way of answering that question).

      Thanks, it’s a great question! Let’s see... I do really enjoy both, and have been liking video more and more as I get better at it. If I had to pick just one, it’d definitely be photography though. I think there are maybe three reasons I’m making these at the moment. First, it’s fun. I really enjoy the challenge of learning new skills and making things and this definitely scratches that itch. Second, I’ve gotten a lot of value out of a handful of other photographers’ channels, where they’ve shared similar content in the past. It’s been a great educational (and inspirational) resource and it’s nice to be able to put my own versions out into the world to hopefully help others too. And finally, it’s pretty much impossible to grow on Instagram these days, but TH-cam seems to offer slightly more growth opportunities if you’re willing to work hard at it for a few years. And as I work towards building this into a business, it’s always nice to have an audience to help serve if I ever want to run workshops or sell prints or anything down the line. That’s the least important of the three at the moment, but definitely still a factor. I think doing both photo and video at the same time is still really difficult for me, and can lead to photos that aren’t quite as good as if I’m just focused on the photography itself. However, that’s becoming less and less of an issue as video becomes more natural for me over time. Hope that sort of answers your question!

      @@BrianLackey Thanks so much for your answer! It’s really great to read. And yes, I can definitely see how building a TH-cam audience would help build your photography business as well. Even though I’m not a commercial customer I’m certainly keeping an eye out for a print I’d love to buy from you.

    It‘s a shame that quality content like the videos you make don‘t get the attention and appreciation they deserve. I always enjoy watching them. Keep up the beautiful Videos you make and wish you all the best all the way from Albania 🇦🇱

      Thanks for watching! Albania is very high on my travel list. I’ve been to most of the surrounding countries, but still haven’t been to Albania yet and would love to explore the mountains in the north!

    Dope video as usual! I haven't really spent much time in Arizona so its cool to see how crazy the red rocks are.

    Amazing video, congrats from Spain. Just a question, do you edit your photos or the pictures seen are the originals? thanks! Waiting for more videos Brian.

    • @BrianLackey
      @BrianLackey  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Iván! Yes, all professional photography is edited, though I work hard to keep images natural and true to the experience. Because we shoot in RAW format in order to capture the most detail and dynamic range possible from a scene, the image files come out incredibly flat and lifeless. So, we have to do some post-processing in order to bring them back to life. When you take a photo on your iPhone, the software does this automatically for you, but most photographers prefer to make these decisions ourselves. Of course, some artists take advantage of this and will add in rainbows and sunsets that weren’t there, and then lie about it, but that doesn’t appeal to me, so I typically limit my editing to adjusting things like contrast, sharpening, brightness and the like. If any modern photographer tells you they don’t do any editing, it’s very likely that they’re lying, just FYI.

      It's just north of town, the main road coming in from that direction. Can't remember the highway number offhand, but you can't miss it :)
