Thank you for the video, really helpful and perfect demo for a complete novice 👌... Just to clarify about 'draining the battery down slowly', do you mean I turn it on (without the charger plugged in) and just leave it on until the battery runs out? Is this how to drain the battery down slowly?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both! Regarding your question, yes 1st power off and leave it charging for 4h then unplug the charger and power on and bring the brightness down to 40% and open videos and excel and light work until the battery is drained to 30% then power off and leave it charging for 4h and after that use as you wish. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻
At 5:45, you have to push the metal tab inward (toward the cable / center of the battery). Otherwise, the connector can pop up and not make full contact. Had to take mine back apart to fix this because the battery didn't even show up - had to plug in the adapter to check that.
i'm sorry but in your revision you may have a metal slider, but in this video this model doesn't have any sort of sliding bracket to go over, if your version it does have a slider sure slide it over. if you don't slide the metal back it will not release itself. this video is 4K and you right @4:59 you can see clearly there is no metal slider. and right @5:45 you ca see clearly it is a pop in jack and without the slider. i been servicing for over 17 years and see the jacks with sliders and the clip on jack. this is a clip on jack,
@@uFixTek The connector pulled out easily when I removed the old battery. The sliding action to secure the connector back into the new battery is very subtle. At first I thought the metal cover was just a reinforcement or anti-RFI shield. Then I noticed that it slid back and forth just enough to hold the plug down onto the spring contacts once you put the edge of the plug under it. The socket is on the battery, so mfrs could source slightly different versions of it I guess. The new battery is an after-market replacement, not OEM.
yes you had a different battery jack installed in your motherboard they change them depending on stock availability. you jack may have looked like this jack in this video @4:22 >> th-cam.com/video/EGQ8W9c4bCc/w-d-xo.html imgur.com/a/x8NNvY8 im glad that you got it sorted out and all good. cheers🍻
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P regarding your question: yes you could if you find the battery with those specs, they do exist but don't sell them every where.
🫠Regarding your question, one of the two may be happening: the battery contacts are not clean and not making proper contact, or the battery is defective. Also, update the BIOS firmware from the Dell website. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻

I changed my battery and now when I power it on (while it’s plugged in) it shows the battery icon with an “x” in it. Did I do something wrong?
