Nice job, my friend d9ne a similar fix on hid pedestal drill but used a piece of aluminium for the inset piece. He milled either 4 or 6 tabs to the underneath of the inset and drilled and tapped into the cast iron webbing and fixed the plate to the base. He faced the base by about 0.010" - 0.015", if my memory serves me right. I read in the comments that the customer will only drill wood on the drill press, just seemed unnecessary to face so much off, but the customer is always right lol😂.
I find it very strange that you cut so much of the table face. It was not all that thick to begin with, and you milled it down to about half of the original thickness, making it weaker. ---Doozer

Now its a million dollar drill press.
But did you just make a video and post it 10 months later?
Yes loo
A year or more later
I got newer content already loaded up
It's amazing young folks actually like working with their hands. I would've thought they all had been uploaded and assimilated into the grand borg.
Lol thank you
Did I miss the part where you said what you place in the middle of the table? This is a really great fix my guy. Well done!
If I didn’t say it, it was probably implied. Woodworkers this all the time they put a piece of wood in the center so that it can be replaceable
Nice fix, cheers!
Thanks
that is super nice
Thank you
Oh btw that blue marker you used, what was it ?
Sharpie Magnum
