Goooooood morning TH-cam family! We officially have internet...however, I'm cancelling it LOL. Because Starlink literally JUST became available in our area of Alaska like 2 days ago. Starlink is WAY faster. Hoping with Starlink, we'll be able to continue our quarterly LIVESTREAMS with you guys. Nonetheless, we have internet. We already ordered Starlink & should have it within a couple of weeks. Wishing everyone a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING tomorrow, from our lil cabin to yours!😘

@@CountryCampers yeah we looked as soon as we got here & it wasn't in our area yet. But as soon as we heard it went live we ordered it right away LOL!

Starlink is amazing! We finally got ours in the summer. We live central western WA. Kinda rural. Amazing internet. We can stream in 4k without lag.

We got Starlink in central BC, Canada (Northern Cariboo RD) early last year and it was an improvement for speed and no data caps- it does drop out some, but an improvement. You might want the roof mount they make- the dish does have a heater to melt ice- but I still use my roof rake to remove snow around it for the melt.

Welcome home!! I'm your neighbor in Anchorage and a former military kid. Dad/grandpa was air force (tailgunner in WWII) mom/grandma retired civil service and brother was in the AF. First came to Alaska in 1980, lived here off and on then finally came back full time December 2001. Once you get Alaska in your blood, you can never shake it. Most people love it or hate it and there really is no way to explain to others just how special it is here. You have to be a special breed of person to live here because it is not easy but it's worth it. I STILL get giddy every time I see a moose. That will never diminish. I live on the southside near Service high school so we have moose constantly in our yard, plus we have a mama moose that gives birth in our neighbors yard every spring and they hang out in our yard eating all the wild grass we have. Her babies come back every winter to eat the bushes in our yard and sometimes try to join us in our garage. One year a yearling tried to come in our front door with us, it's so wild. Love this place so much. You should get a PO Box so people can send you Christmas cards!
There is a couple that moved here from Oregon that live out in Willow with a great homesteading channel, you might know them already but if not, check them out: Simple Living Alaska. God bless you guys! ❤️🙏

Tina, as an orthopedic registered nurse for 39 years. I have a suggestion that you might want to try for your neck. He is great for muscle pain and spasms but if you are having a pinching of the nerves which causes the symptoms down your arm and the weakness, it’s likely that you do have a bulging disc and it is putting pressure on the nerves that go down the arm. Inflammation is your enemy in this situation and it would be better to try ice probably. Ice may reduce some of the inflammation from the bulging disc impinging on the nerves. I hope you feel better soon. Praying for you and your family.❤ 🙏🏻

Oh my goodness Parker has a pure soul. To suggest to you that you could use the branches as decor really shows thoughtfulness, as he thought that might make you happy. It made my day to see how joyful & proud he was of his driving: " I feel like a grownup ". Bless him, he's a good kid x

Nice to have your private ice skating pond. I grew up in Fairbanks and we would carry water out in garbage bags to make one in the yard. Maybe try an Inversion table- they are suppose to help bulging disks. I use one for my sciatic issue. I have property also (a woman with a chainsaw), and it is quite frustrating to not be active and do projects. Parker seems great- he is a sweet youngster and you are doing great with him.

Tina!!! Sit down….when your picture popped up with rice sock…I grinned and out loud said what did you do? Joe is so layed back and just goes with the flow…we live far out on a horse ranch. And so many say to us doesn’t my granddaughter miss having neighbors? We feel the life she has out here with horses and the ranch we are on teaches her so much and to be honest never bored.

It’s been very nostalgic watching these video the last few days since I found you. I am 68 years old and lived in Northern Ontario in what you may recognize as a bush camp. No running water, no inside toilet facilities, gas operated wringer washer, no dryer, an old airtight (wood burner). Chopping wood and making kindling for the fire. Carrying water in 5 gallon pails, winter and summer from the lake. And taking the night pot to the outhouse. Living on walleye, moose meat, most of the time. Sometimes my parents went in on half a pig. My Dad rigged up gas appliances and when I was about 8 he used the engine from an old car to watch hockey on the black and white TV. I didn’t know anything else. I love the wilderness and wildlife but would never go back to that. Its wonderful to raise children in this environment as you can control the inputs. But as I then had to go into the small town 80 miles from us, to go to high school, I found I was very naive and unprepared for certain character types. I had no experience navigating without getting involved with the wrong people. I was way too trusting. But you do learn quickly that not all people are to be trusted. Love the channel. Fun to watch.

I watch a few channels but came upon yours and something clicked your personality, your faith. Your love just radiates. I am pulling out of it and have just watched so many videos you have made me realize again I am strong, funny, and full of life. Seeing you and joe together reminded me I have a joe. My relationship has come around again and I’m laughing and smiling. Don’t ever worry about the haters girl cuz there are us out there who really love you! I just found your channel. So awesome! This is making me so darn homesick for AK. I lived there for three years during the pipeline build and left in June 1979. Curious about the birch trees you felled re the solar panels. Nothing better for long lasting
wood fire heat than birch trees. The mountain shots on your Anchorage trip were fantastic.

With cold temperatures outside and very low air humidity, we used to try to hang on dryer racks at least one of the washer loads to raise the moisture level in the house. It's better for the skin and breathing than dry air and saves a lot on solar power, as dryers consume a lot of electricity.

Your symptoms in this video sound just like mine when I had a bulging disc. I got relief by getting Toradol injections. After the first injection the doctor told me IF it worked, it would take 5 days to get relief. On day 5 pain was gone. Less than a month later the pain and numbness returned, got another Toradol shot. Three months later, symptoms returned and had another shot. That was the last one and it has been over 10 years since I had a problem. Hope you can soon get relief because you have so much to look forward to in your new home!

Love all the trees.

Hands tingling etc. Went to neurologist and he gave me a shot of cordisone straight down on top of my shoulder between the bones. Longest needle I have ever seen. Hurt soo bad but stopped the pain and that was years ago and it has not hurt since. Hope you find some relief soon.

Yeah we're right there with you on the socialisation thing, we homeschool our 10 year old, same situation here, he has a couple of really great friends and gets together with the homeschooling group to learn basic marine biology, life saving, hiking and orientation, bushcraft etc.... Our 20 year old was never homeschooled - bummer but he's got his priorities sorted out and both our kids have big beautiful hearts. So many people assume that homeschooled kids are somehow disadvantaged, we say it's the exact polar opposite!
It wasn't that long ago in our history that all the kids were schooled on their farms, under a tree or with the local kids in a central paddock. We don't care anymore what people think they know, they don't know us and that's just fine. When my 20 year old was at school his entire year level wasn't allowed to play with kids in other year levels whatsoever, how is that natural? I'm 51 years old now (I look 30 so thanks Mum for the great skin genes) and I don't just talk to people in their 50's for crying out loud. I love that our son gets to know people of all ages, and I have to say that he's so much more sure of himself than I remember the school kids ever being.
Andrew, my hubby was eyeing off your Polaris Ranger, thanks Joe haha!
Love to you Tina and your beautiful fam Xx

Love you and the family and your precious dogs! Thank you for the interesting life you all have and for letting us sort of be apart of what’s happening. Looking forward to the next video. Hope you have able to see a doctor for your neck. I have something similar and when it acts up I wear a soft neck collar to help lift the neck up to relieve some of the pain. Yours sounds more serious and hope and pray for no surgery. ❤️

It's good that you have available trees close by for cutting, makes it much easier! Love seeing the dogs having fun running about. Happy Thanksgiving!

Well it looks like you're all having a really great time in your new home which is great to see!! Tina, please look after your neck and herniated disc please as there is only one of you and Joe, P and the pups need you up and around!! Once you have all your own stuff there and sorted I can see you guys settling in even betterer than you think you will. Next time you have a live feed I will have that icy cold beer with you :)

    Looking great!
We use RO under sink/water filter/softener and dispenser.
Dogs pads - cream coating available like zinc we use to protect pads too. They can get burned from ice/sub temperatures. You will see a little discolored before raw pink.
Ask Vet but we use preparation H with medical pad and vet wrap if gets bad.
20f and lower is when it usually starts.
We have a lot of -35 to -45c fronts here. 5 minute rule for kids and pets.
Sooo happy you got your wheels back and everyone is doing great.
People's comments are obviously out of concern but most never experienced what you are living. Grain of Salt.
Watch the temperature for lubricant for chainsaws. It's warm enough now not to seize motor and lock chain while running. It's bad when that happens.
One reason I love those really sunny days when we hit negative. Warm chainsaw next to wood burner.
    Repairs for neck reduce results.
C4 to C7 we kinda need.
Often it can fix itself but not repeatedly. I'm a good example of that unfortunately.
    Stay warm and happy!

Great video, guys!! 😍😍xx People should just mind their own business and leave Parker be. He’s clearly a happy little boy. Bradley and Gunner look like they are loving the space, 😁😁 My 3 girls would love it, but not the snow (they are whippets, lol 😂😂)

Ha ha about the worrying about socialization. I remember that big time when my wife and I decided to home school. It was never a problem, always easy to do with children you approve of and now our two children are grown, having children and doing great.

I love these long videos!!! First, that Joe is one Blessed Man!!! Second, You’re very very blessed to have Him! Now the bad stuff, Ms. Tina, I’ve been married 50 years and the one thing I can do good is tell when a woman is hard headed!! I have a good Friend Who’s an Orthopedic surgeon, showed this to Him, He said if You do have bulging disc the hardest thing You should be doing is wearing that sofa and rice collar out!!! Oh, Parker is one good Kid, Y’all won’t have to worry about Him. Please be careful, Y’all stay warm and safe, looking forward to the next video!!

Someone just sent me the link to it. We'll watch it today. He's technically not retired until Feb 1st...he's just on terminal leave. We've been fighting the mandate for over a year. Either way...we'll never get it. We applied for a religious exemption & it was denied. Joe has been threatened with involuntary discharge for over a year.🧡
