- YiHeng Wang broke the Rubik's Cube World Record Average with 4.48 seconds, absolutely crushing his old record of 4.69, and also crushing the dreams of 2nd place tied Max Park and Tymon Kolasinski, and of course, crushing the dreams of cubers around the world (just kidding about that last part, dreams don't have to come true for us to keep dreaming)

@@theonewiththeratpfp Jperm makes it much more fun and entertaining. He's not just explaining what happened, he's explaining what happened and why and how it could be improved and being charming, funny, and entertaining at the same time.
It's not just 16 minutes of content. I could make a walkthrough average video an hour long. That doesn't mean it's good.

Hi JPerm ur probably not gonna see this but I have been rewatching all your videos and they always bring me joy. I am sad that you are no longer uploading content as frequently but can understand that you have a life outside of these videos. Wether its that you're burned out or having personal issues, just know that the youtube community loves you. Your work inside of the speedcubing community is outstanding. The amount of time and effort that you have spent to help other cubers (like me!) has been amazing. We really need you back!!! For anybody wondering where J Perm went, he abandoned this channel and moved to gaming where he posts Mario Kart 8 videos in a channel called “Shortcat”
It’s sad seeing J Perm go. He helped me start up my cubing journey. Though I quit cubing, I still remember watching his videos and learning more and having an amazing time. 😢

for anyone confused why he isn’t uploading, his cousin (yiheng wang) kidnapped him for saying that one of the solves was bad, he then was sent to the basement where he was forced to play mariokart on the shortcat channel, he also will be killed if he mentions the j perm channel or the kidnapping.

Yiheng is a child of all the previous best cubers. All of them contributed in developing systems and strategies to be on the top. Yiheng uses it, and he started young, so he's got enough years to develop the skills needed.

Consistency is very important for getting a good average nowadays.
You can no longer get away with hesitating or messing up an algorithm because the time you'd have to get for the remaining solves would be physically impossible.
Except for the 1 solve that can be however slow you want lol

Remember when we went crazy after Lucas Etter got the very first sub-5 single? Which was actually one of the craziest day in cubing history imo (please talk about the events of that day Jperm). And now a sub-5 average is just like a commonplace.

I have been cubing for 43 years now and I haven't yet got down to this level of cubing... I am proud of the fact that I understand what you are talking about at last though! I had an incredibly lucky sub 15 a few months ago but usually run at about 40-50 sec. I quite often get sub 40 but only with a skip or two. In 1981 I had a very lucky 32sec solve and by end of 1982 I consistently subbed 60 sec. Try that with a 1980 cube all lubed up with Vaseline! Hhmmm... just another 40 years and I will maybe sub 20 sec on average... maybe not!

I known how to solve a 3x3 and Known how to Do F2L but i haven't cubed since 2022. Until I Cube again on November 2023 that have been 2 months because it is 2024 now. I learned F2L again and Know it now. I tried to do 2-Look OLL and 2-Look PLL on December. I got them now! I learned Advanced F2L and 2-Look OLL and 2-Look PLL
I got beginner CFOP now My PB is 33.81 Seconds! My second Best is 47.07, So Thank you Again JPerm. :)

The most insane thing is that he didn't use any ZBLL. And he COULD HAVE! His solves are so based on fundamentals! He's not using the wild and insane solutions... he's just doing basic solutions, OLL, PLL, and doing it extremely fast. That also leads to insane consistency because he KNOWS his solutions inside and out.
If he loses worlds, it's only because he choked AND Tymon has some insane 900 IQ solutions that he perfectly executes.

Chinese cuber has insane tps. They more investing on tps than having learn more advance alg like ZBLL. Ruihang was the first cuber I've seen who solved a cube in sub 3 with video. And he's using only a Oll and Pll (I don't know if he using COLL or ZBLL alg). Imagine,Yiheng got Tymon's skill to how plan for a great solution. Tymon admitted that his problem was tps.
