Not even the biggest names in Hollywood could have come up with a better script for this finals. Congrats to all the competitors, they couldn't have given us a more epic final. That was amazing to watch.
This was such an intense and incredible final. I honestly feel really bad for Yiheng, the fact that he was 0.01 seconds off and that he had EVEN more pressure than everyone else since he was expected to win.
Once he learns to be a good competitor he will win back to back world's. This is kinda like a repeat of feliks where a win seemed easy but pressure got to him because of inexperience. Hope Yiheng wins 2025!
One of the best finals I've watched. I rooted for Max and the ludacris result was a dream come true for me. The finals was a sneak peak of the chinise domination btw
Congrats to Max and all the other competitors. I lost my mind for a minute when you said he won 4 million dollars. 😂 the prize money was issued in Korean won, converted to USD is about $3,000. I was like damn, the prize money increased a lot this year 😅
@@KPR888 there was a video of his mom looking upset after the finals. He's was just a 9 year old the pressure and expectations can be overwhelming for him.
@@justadude721 also he will learn from this not to set high expectations so soon and practice in high pressure enviroments, he was 9its normal for him to be sad thats like any 9 year old, hes 10 now tho
@@KPR888 it's true that his mom will be upset but Yiheng would've also felt upset about not winning and it might not have been the most appropriate time to scold him. Also Yiheng has been performing so well recently and obviously that would lead to high expectations for himself. It's not just about expectations he has for himself but also expectations others have for him. Everyone is tracking his progress and that's not going to stop so we can all atleast be a little understanding of him as he just turned 10 a week ago
I'm glad Max Park won and Tymon Kolasiński got on the podium because they both have the top 2 best moments in Speedcubing history. Tymon Kolasiński last solve in wr average and Max Park wr single.
Great video! Thanks for covering this! One point: you said at the end that Max won “4 million dollars”. But in fact it was 4 million Korean Won (W) which is just less than $3000 USD. That’s a pretty big difference.
Just to anyone who doesn’t know, the prize money was actually Korean so if you look closely it’s not dollars. the real amount of money was 4,000, 2,500, and 1500.
After the fourth solve, the organisers should tell us the guaranteed average and best possible average after 5th solve. That would make it thrilling to watch.
You have to be in it to win it! They all did great! 👍 Side note: Workshop training schools need to be set up, which can run alongside major competitions. They could run a couple of days before or after comps. They could be aimed at different levels, beginner, intermediate, advanced, parents... It would bring more enjoyment, benefits and interest to the comps and make travelling to them more worthwhile imo. What you think?
Not 3. 2! His 5.00 was close but not sub 5. He did do very well for his middle 3 solves and he needed around a 6.18 to win which is very doable for him. Yiheng needed a 6.04 which he can do in his sleep so it's really sad
I’m not gonna lie. I Cube while listening/watching videos and I just got my first sub 10 ao5 while listening to Yiheng and Ruihang solve with Milan’s commentary. Your content is magical and thank you for providing us with it!
This video was really good, interesting easy to follow, and I'm happy that you did a good video about it because I missed the live because of personnal event 😁
As a Roux player, I'm very happy to see not one, but TWO Roux players in the finals. Sure, they weren't very close to winning, but considering how few people play it, it's amazing that there are still 2 of them making the finals.
Watching this in Europe was hell. For me, the competition started at half past MIDNIGHT in my area and ended around 10:00 AM to 2:30PM every day. I was so desperate to watch so I became nocturnal for 4 days 👍
No offence. Feliks is the GOAT and always will be but his chances of winning 2023 world championships are quite slim and he didn't even make it to the semifinals because he messed up pretty badly. It's okay because he's still the GOAT and he's engaged now
Unfortunately, the time did not stop at the first press for Tymon's first solution. 😔 He could have won the championship...Congratulations to Max! He deserved it! 🏆
if he actually press the timer right first time i turn it to 0.25 speed and look and try to pause at that right time he would have got 5.92 and winning the world's by 5.24 average beating max's 5.31
@terenceytf666 I disagree -- I also put it at .25 speed and I think he gets a 6.2, not 5.92. Look at the other videos, when you see the hand come vs when the timer stops isn't quite aligned. The 5.92 he didn't have his left hand down all the way plus there's a slight delay so I think it's closer to 6.2. If you average in a 6.2 he ends up with a 5.32 so still not quite winning, but very very close.
1:15 he finished in 8.466 seconds but he didnt like the time so didnt stop on time. 11:18 yup the legends are arriving. 15:53 ya that is the greatest ever.
I feel like this really shows how the cubing world still has a lot of room for growth. How a guy with two sub 5s and a 5.15 got second place is just mind blowing to me. If you showed a person the first place's 5 times and the second place's 5 times, they'll wonder why he got second. That's just my opinion tho
Comp vlog coming soon guys!
Also yes I messed up the WR by Max is indeed 3.13 😭
