Batfleck is an underrated and severely misunderstood Batman. The whole point of his arc, (like you mentioned) is indeed to redeem himself and bring him back from the dark abyss of hopelessness and powerlessness, caused by all the horrors and bullshit he’s experienced throughout his 20+ year crusade as Batman, which had dragged him down. The depth of this interpretation of the character is brilliant, which is one of the many reasons why I love Batfleck.

While it was brief, I really liked how Bruce and Barry's relationship was like a second chance for Bruce to be a mentor to an aspiring young hero and a way of making up for his failure with Robin. I hope Flash's solo movie does more with the dynamic.

What a really well put together video, I admire what you enjoyed and what you didn’t. Especially how you see Batfleck’s perspective

The way I've always interpreted Bruce's opening monologue is that any of his ideals cannot be compatible with the world he inhabits. Anything and everything that can fall has fallen, including his own "diamond absolutes". And after twenty years of fighting against the worst humanity has to offer, in the same gutter in which his parents died, so to speak, who can blame him for losing hope?
"In the dream, they took me to the light. A beautiful lie." The way I interpret this line is that at the beginning of his crime fighting career, Bruce thought of Batman as the perfect solution both to saving Gotham and avenging his parents. It was the chance for him to make a difference. But after all this time, Gotham is no better than it was before; in fact, it may even be worse, what with the emergence of Batman's rogue gallery. And the suit itself has clearly become an addiction to Bruce, feeding into his rage, his paranoia, and his overwhelming need for control. "The world only makes sense if you force it to." Indeed, the bats didn't take him towards the light, like he had dreamed: they were slowly dragging him into the cave away from the light the entire time.

I always hated the argument that "zack/ben's batman is awful because he killed people" because, so did keaton, kilmer and bale yet not a single one complains about those. Heck, at least BVS didn't sweep that detail under the rug like the burton and nolan films did, the film KNOWS what batman is doing is wrong, the clenching fist superman makes is a direct homage at the beginning of the movie where Thomas Wayne makes a fist, and guess who has the gun on the other end this time? Batman. He was becoming Joe Chill out of fear.

He’s my favorite iteration of Batman. He’s brutal, physically imposing and just gets sh$t done.

@@blatherskite7729 if you have time look up the works of Jordan Peterson and his literary motif of the "Hostile Brothers", we see alot of it through literature and it ultimately stems from the Cain and Abel story.
