Did you use the perlin tape under the panels? I can’t find any locally so I may sub with foam weather stripping tape. Wonder if you know it’s an acceptable substitution.?
Hey, I did. I bought it from Bunnings, suntuf brand. The whole purpose is to have something squishy between the panel and the wood so that slight movements won't constantly have noise. It works great.
I think the foam weather stripping tape will work great but it'll be a lot more expensive for that length. Find the purlin tape from an online store or Amazon if you can't find it locally
17' is about 5 metres. Depending on how many purlins you have and what length, maybe do a quick calculation. For me, my Pergola was 10m long, and each side had 4 purlins. So I need about 80m of tape
Awesome - 👏 you explained a lot! Thank you
Thanks! Hope your project is just as successful!

@@melbournegardener7582 thanks for reply. Found 17’ of white foam weatherstrip tape at 1/4” thick by 1/2” wide for $5.

How is it holding up?
it's doing great, no issues so far, no leaking, and it's looking pretty good :)
have had some huge storms and it's been holding up really well
