Interesting when your neighbor is Kelly, arguably the one of the best anglers, fly tier and designer of flies of his generation. He walks by my place during the golden hour before dusk with his dogs trailing headed to spots on the Madison the public overlook and comes back with a smile on his face and most importantly tells me what he did, what flies he used and where. Unusual behavior for a fisherman as we tend to be secretive to protect our waters which is in fact selfish. Kelly, over the decades I've known him, embraces helping others find the joy he still feels as we try and catch and catch and release these gorgeous creatures that inhabit cold, clear fast waters. Most importantly he doesn't get mad or sulk when I or anyone else catches more or bigger fish then him because he likes people to be successful and happy even though he may have to buy the 6 pack at the end of the day. He knows there will be another day on the river.
Master Class from Kelly. I like this guide. Some of the guides Kelly fishes with try to impress him. This guide just asks questions and learns. Made it more interesting for us!
Ledges, ledges, ledges! I learned all I ever needed to know about ledges growing up fishing Kentucky Lake in the late spring and summer months most of my life. I have to agree with you Kelly, every fish in the world will use structure like ledges, drains, and ditches to move throughout a system. Great piece of advice you gave there to those paying close attention to what you were saying.
Thanks for making streamer videos. I'm 77, and I have been flyfishing for about 68 years. For various reasons, I have lost interest in nymphing, swinging wets, and even dry-fly fishing. (We've lost most of our hatches several years in a row now) I still have a great drive to streamer fish, and your videos on fishing and tying streamers totally inspire me. You keep on fishing, tying, and making great videos, and I will keep on chuckin' until the old shoulders wear out. Well done, again!.
Great video Kelly , love fishing streamers and watching your videos have upped my game fishing them , not just retrieval but placement and reading the water very helpful.
Am I the only one who puts life on pause when Kelly drops a new video? Look, hunt, find, commit...Works on lots of stuff in the outdoors... Good shit is right Kelly! Awesome!! Good guide for sure, well done young man-
Wanting to get some of your line for streamers, pretty new to this part of fly fishing. Saw a video of you and Brian talking streamer lines and you were talking about the airflow shovelhead, which would you recommend for just starting it?
Hey Kelly my husband and I are going on a month fly fishing trip starting at Henry’s Fork the Madison then Yellowstone! We would love to meet up with you! It would be a dream come true especially for my husband!!
Thanks Kelly for priceless insight. Of course they don't eat streamers here in England.Like hell they don't 😈Those chalk stream snobs luv a streamer .....
His diving comment, if he was actually in the river, with SCUBA gear or even just a snorkel, if different than being out of the water. I have had fish, otters, beavers, deer and other creatures come right up to me, when half submerged in the water, meaning I am standing up to my waist in the water. This is different than when I am standing on the bank, Creatures avoid you or, in the case of a beaver, slap their tails when you not half in the water. A guy named Marty Stalfer hosted a show called "Wild America" and in one episode he was diving in a river and actually hand feeding fish stone fly nymphs. Don't ask me why this happens but it does.
Disappointed to see such a huge fly fisherman not realize how Unimportant that actually is…I’m just happy trout aren’t as weak as some of you clowns think they are. Woulda gone extinct ages ago.

absolutely
His questions are awkwardly inserted into the video haha … I thought it was cringeworthy
@@Dream-season They are prompted questions. It's staged.

Great film. More of this format with Kelly fishing and talking would be awesome.
Amazing river, can’t get enough of Kelly’s stories.

The streamer x is really an amazing streamer rod… I fish smallmouth with that rod too and it handles poppers well.
Enjoyed this!
Great job Brock for guiding with tact

What's that John Prine song? Happy as a clam. Smokes like a chimney....
Kelly, how much extra did you all pay for that boat launch experience? $500-$1000??
Sick! 🔥
Always enjoy your content, but where was Brian?🤣😉👍
Hey Roland!!
How many fish did he dry hand? Bad form.
Love your content. Wet you damn hands before handling fish, you know better.
Nice way fairers Mr Kelly 🎉🎉😊
This is just a arrested version of bass fishing.
I like fish
Disappointing to see someone so well respected to not even attempt to wet his hands before he grabs a fish.
The amount of goon fish drops you’ve had on your channel is astonishing. Give it a break bud. We know you’re a whining complainer.
Disappointing to see another influencer-trout-bro knock the GOAT 🐐

That was great and all, but you'd catch a bunch more fish if you used a Euro rod and some perdigons.. You should give that a go...Just saying...
That ain't fly fishing.
😄😄😄
I know you are just trolling. You don't really mean that. Suggesting that a guy stop FLYFISHING and switch to Euro. LMMFAO.
he's trolling... kelly just made a video on euro
@@caseycravens7062 Neither is Streamer fishing
Please but please wet your hands. You as a guide should know better.
I'm sure You good at what you do but you never shut up.
Really sucks to see Kelly mishandle fish.
