So much effort into these monuments!? If you would like to buy Emperor (or any other game) and support the channel please use this referral link: af.gog.com/game/emperor_rise_of_the_middle_kingdom?as=1715648857
Well, yes. Wish you would play more of this and Pharaoh they're why I started watching you. Are you planning on doing more of Pharaoh, and its expansion or Zeus/Posiden eventually? I do like that you're redoing Caesar III, wish I could show up to the Livestreams on twitch, but I unfortunately work very odd hours, still, you do put them up here which is great!
Haha I was talking about those 2 monuments (edited original comment). This is the final Qin dynasty mission in Emperor, so going back to Pharaoh after this while continuing the new Caesar 3 series.
Awesome! Also, yea I remember those monuments were a total pain in my butt when I was younger. Would you happen to know where I can pick up a copy of this game? I was able to find the others on GOG but haven't been able to find this one anywhere. Awesome job on finishing the Qin dynasty btw!
Xianyang is the capital of ol' Qin, so it needs to be grand! You might think there's a lot of space on this map. There never is enough for me. 7 wards for the plebs, 5 districts for the nobles, inner city palace complex, 2 tiers of walls, +14.000 mouths to feed, +50.000 Delian annual tax revenue (on level hard) , and of course all in perfect harmony. I had to expropriate a couple of farmers to make space for emperor Qin's afterlife ambitions.
Huang Di is the same as Qin Shi Huang Di, the guy you're building the tomb for. So just like when you finish building a temple for Nu Wa, when it's done the god-hero becomes permanently Exalted to you.
The translation of "Huang Di" is "yellow/royal emperor". The translation of "Qin Shi" means "Qin's first". So it means first emperor of the Qin dynasty. Since the Qin dynasty is the first dynasty (first with an emperor and not just a king), people call him Huang Di for short.
It's a highly mythologized version but it's supposed to be the same guy...the hero guy and the guy you're building the tomb for and the first emperor of China. All in one.
GamerZakh, re: the ending, it is widely believed Qin Shi Huang died from swallowing mercury pills, which were ironically meant to grant him immortality.
It's implying that the emperor already died from poisoning and had begun to decompose. Putting the cart of rotting fish in front of his carriage was an attempt to cover up the despot's premature demise.
Shin Huandi was fooled, supossed that drinking mercury, yes, the same liquid metal, give him the eternal life, but obviously that shortened even more, poor guy, and was a quite noble person, only too ambitious
One handy tip is to avoid sending homage until your chosen Hero's religion has "Excellent" city coverage. Your gift of Lacquerware did the job, but for less valuable goods, you'll want more bang for your buck. If you don't want Huang Di reappearing, take a moment and have him bless a few Kilns or Silkworm Sheds. That'll bring down his happiness meter. Xi Wang Mu doesn't halve or otherwise reduce the needed materials. She increases the amount of work your laborers and guild personnel do per trip, as well as the number of laborers that spawn. Just be aware that even with Xi Wang Mu in your city, there is a limit to how many laborers can spawn. I can't give you the exact details offhand, but it's covered somewhere at Emperor Heaven. If you send another city an animal they sorely need, they'll automatically send you a different one in return after a short while. You can easily obtain a full menagerie through this reciprocal process (so long as you keep sending out new animals to the appropriate recipients). The only time you'd need to manually request an animal is when there are none in your city and you don't/can't take the New Year's bonus.
finished this mission today, god damn, really speed up time is necessary once ur city is fully supplied, to become autopilot, and giving a lot of laqueware to XiWanMu, cause apparently when she provide her passive, to help hurry up monuments, her humour deplete faster, but worth, really that emperor was too fancy making both monuments no?
Thank you for the video! "We build the giant mud pyramid and the large patch of dirt!" Well there is reason the Army was only discovered in the late XX century! it was concealed perfectly! P.S. Yes I know almost 4 years passed.
I have finished the Qin Dynasty and have been doing the Sui dynasty for a few weeks now. I am really happy as I am building the 2nd capital so I am not being taken back to the first which is known for flooding. Stay positive through all the little maps as they look hard but turn out to be very nice to play after all.
Re-cap- The new Capital is built and It's back to the old Capital. As all the generations pass on (more than six) it may not be flooding these days. I do hope so.
Nearly 4 months have passed by .... we all are waiting for further missions in this game .... and you have lot more to deal with :) Han Dynasty - 8 Missions Sui-Tang Dynasty - 8 Missions Song Jin - 7 Missions Bonus Campaign Emperor Jin Wudi - 3 Missions Total : 23 Missions more (or 26 is you involve the bonus campaign) So @GamerZakh .... when can we expect 26th mission ??
I used the jade XWM trick on scenarios where it let me (I can recruit XWM, can build carvers, and there is a city that buys carved jade)...it's a huge money boost.
Hi Zakh ! Too bad you didn' read what I wrote about those who built the monuments : you're loosing MONTHES. First, they need no architect's visit, Second they shouldn't be connected by a road to the monuments, because if they only have one tile of road each, they take a shortcut. How faster they can work !!! Third, your tumulus being connected to two roads, those who deliver silk, weapons etc go the longest way : loss of time again. I hope one of your followers will take profit of my experience if you don't... I wish you wouldn't neglect SumTsu's help when you are attacked, he's so efficient. Anyhow I still enjoy some clues you give. Thank you !
At the beginning, instead of dismissing Huang Di, you should have him walk through the housing complex you're trying to upgrade so he distributes ceramics, then dismiss him. V
XI Wan Mu, dont halve monument Time construction she speed the guilds members and doble capacity of workers in same Time, she really cut to 1/4 at most
@GamerZakh Thanks for the new episode. It's really fun to watch these classics in action under the hand of a very good and organized player. Brings back a lot of memories. Thank you once again :) Can you tell us when you can possibly start the next dynasty in Emperor? P.S.: I always thought you were British for some reason till I watched one of your new episodes where you showed your friends shop in Malaysia. Pretty surprising actually. Just curious but where did you pick up the flawless accent?
After this I'm going back to Pharaoh's final dynasty. After that I'll most likely come back to Emperor then alternate with Zeus a bit before starting up Cleopatra. All this while I'm still making the Caesar 3 HD campaign. Haha and my mom is English from the UK, so that's where the accent and mannerisms are kind of from.
Ah that's going to be fun! Waiting for your videos! P.S.: That clears it up. As always it's easy to listen and understand your accent. So it's fun watching your playthroughs because of that.
hi zakh, when are you gonna start a new dynasty? really enjoy emperor game, and i just finished this mission...took me months for me to reach this dynasty.
Strange pal, i played in Normal, but i get almost 20.000 points and u barely 14.000, even with the modifier of difficulty.. maybe cause i over produce to sell i endend almost 500.000 yuans, but was for the monuments, o cause i added more elite houses... but nice game, anyway the points in this game are so useful, as in Harry Potter

I remember getting excited when I build the great pyramid in Pharoah -- Terra Cotta Army -- this should be really cool. Thanks for the tips, GamerZakh

The labor shortage is a lot more forgiving than Caesar! I could already hear the crackling of fire and the splashing of water, were it C3...
Yeah being able to control number of employees by changing wages makes things a lot more tweakable.

Where does all the dirt go that is digged out from the monument side? There should be a huge pile of dirt somewhere^^
Well, those monuments were anticlimactic.
I never knew the Chinese had pyramid s for their emperors. 😂
At the beginning, instead of dismissing Huang Di, you should have him walk through the housing complex you're trying to upgrade so he distributes ceramics, then dismiss him. V
That is a good idea. I keep forgetting some gods distribute things.
lol. the tomb eventually get covered by nature. i guess they do not want their terracotta army getting pillaged, hence the ugly patch of dirt
yep, until chinese architect foud it and translated carefully to a hangar
