Oh my gosh, I enjoyed the vicarious Plein Air trip to Tallow Beach with you. The colors around you! THE OCEAN! THAT GREEN! I knew Monet used Emerald Green, there's no comparison. I love how you played with the palette and took risks. I'm going to give this color scheme a go... and, being a student, tag along on more of your trips.

Monet was also a Cobalt Violet lover. Maybe not the most versatile pigment, but it is my favorite color of oil paint.

Thx so much Mate, Yeah that beach is so so good and hardly ever no one there coz of the 30 minute walk to get there from the car. Yes Monet was so inspiring and I will use his colours again🎨🎨👍

Wow Tez. You never cease to amaze me with your videos. Would love a rundown video on your plein air setup mate! Cant quite tell, but looks like you have a little ply table to put your pochade box onto. Is that correct?
    Keep painting 🎨

I love the way you did the sky colors in this painting and I really think it’s the harmonized colors from the pallet. I’m definitely going to check it out and try it myself.

Hey Tez, I just stumbled upon your site. I love how you pre-primed your board to get the "Monet feel" to the painting. I also nicked your idea about putting the color wheel on your set-up. I am up in Canada and 1200 miles from any ocean, however love you Aussie's and your landscapes. The best part, you and myself are South Paws so I can watch how you lay down your paint and strokes. Awesome Mate!

One of the things I liked (among the million other things 😁) was the fact that the Australian beaches were mostly empty. What do you listen to on your headphones? I tend to listen to soft classical when I paint in my studio, and Country Western or soft Rock when I'm outside in my "real" studio. Slow inside, fast outside. The outside sounds make it easier for me to get thru a painting in a couple of hours rather than the two to three days inside. You are right about Monet. He was great. He would be proud of your attempt with his palette. Happy painting, my friend. Stay safe. Cheers.

@@PleinAirAdventureswithTezDower Horribly colour blind mate. No chance of becoming a painter. Yeah familiar with a few spots. You definitely won't struggle for inspiration in NSW. Sure you've been out that way before but places around Lithgow, Hartley & Oberon etc have some stunning vista's & not too far from home. We'll worth throwing the brushes in the car for.

Yeah it was my first challenge I have to say, Yeah a couple of greens tend to baffle me also😁 I think it was because the war was on and he had to watch his pennies. So he cut his palette in half。 I read that I think thats what it was。 Mixing it up like that opened my artistic eyes a tad. Happy painting Mate🎨🎨👍

Hi Tez - Love the effect you achieved....the colors. The whole video is a piece of art :) I love your interjection of commentary along with the painting. Do you find that your textural base can be a little distracting on smaller works or no ? Maybe scale the texture to panel size?
